do people in general do that much processing on their sounds.. cause that looks like lot of time wasted rather than getting musically creative.. strange how in electronica its so much more about creating sounds as it is arranging the sounds.. blows my mind really.. haha
Neurofunk'y reeses and stuff are usually pretty heavily processed to create movement in different layers of the sound. Once you know what's up and understand how the different filters and effects work and cooperate you can get REALLY creative.
This shit takes a long time to do, if you think being thorough with any aspect of production is a waste of time you might want to look into getting a new hobby...
let me rephrase my comment, because im not saying this is bad or wrong etc.
I think its amazing that these days creating sound from scratch is just as important as composition. But i feel like you could easily spend alot more time creating the sounds rather than working on composition. anyway... bla bla..bla... love this tutorial dude.. would love to see what you can come up with using the es2 or exs24. do you use them much? or mostly just reaktor?
@lordek1979 well it depends on what type of sound i barely use es2 or exs24 cause im scared of them :P
right now im getting some sick reeses out of virus saw samples that i found somewhere i forgot and massive from ni. i might make another tut using massive cause you can get some sick sounds actually
That is a phat reese sir. Logic looks pretty, i'm warming up to the idea of learning it. But ableton is looking mighty delicious aswell...decisions decisions.
I appreciate your opinion mate, have you tried Ableton tho? I mainly want to produce dnb, and i know for a fact that logic is great for that. Thing is, I know ableton is a beast to, i love the fact that it's practically one huge sampler but i don't really know any of the big names using it for DnB. I just wanna make sure i'm not getting biased opinions;)
By the way, i know it's not what tools you use, it's how you use them and i fully stand behind that. But theres always a reason some things are used for certain areas instead of something else. Cleared that up so you don't think i'm one of those kinds of people that think you can't do something with one daw that you can another.
Nice tut! So far, you've went more in depth about the resampling process and what you're doing everytime you bounce the audio than any other vid I've seen on youtube. Keep 'em coming. Cheers-- Ripper

@Bunechunk LOL you can use any DAW to create any genre
Ableton is awesome but so is logic
and to say one is better at producing DNB is ridiculous
It's just personal preference in my opinion
