  • i'd love to see all these guys walking to work in their suits on monday morning! nice try...

  • god i remember doin this at burn 2004! its amazing the power of the human voice!

  • Rayjr. You hit it right on the head. These kind of people make me sick.

  • Mike Patton does it better XD

(listen to Goodbye Sober Day to see what I mean)

  • When I watch this, I can't help but think of what comedian Steve Harvey once said: . . . "White people. . . . always running to jump on some bullshit." BTW- I'm glad the famous Balinese dancer, i Mario, never lived to see this shit.

  • they're only saying chak...

  • Dance puppets, dance!!

  • stupid white ppl.

  • it sounds like 1 rhythm is missing...this chant is to resemble the mischevious nature of the monkey, it does not symbolise any kind of spiritual enlightenment or contain and religous connetations...why is everyone whining like little babies...perhaps the performers have studied music of the bali region in depth and now feel they share a great enough understanding to perform this in a western society...perhaps im talking out of my arse

  • @fmraaah No, you aren't.

You want to know what this really is? A bunch of white fairy well-educated 20 and 30-something attention whores (most of whom come from middle / upper-middle class backgrounds, most of whom work in the high tech or biotech industries and most of whom are higher than a kite) running around naked in the Nevada Great Basin, trying desperately in vain to be hipper than hip. . . . "Oh, look at me. . I am so fucking cool being here at Burning Man. . . this is were it's at"

  • @rayjr62 it's probably cool now for all the hipsters and hippies to do this..

  • Looks fun. Why are people complaining about people doing this? I'm sure it's not some secret practice that isn't to be shared with the world. It's bringing these people together to take part in making music. How is that a bad thing?

  • Another classic example of westerners taking something from another culture because it looks "fun" or "ccol" with little undestanding or appreciation for its origin.

  • @olicarlon82 Its funny you mention them having little understanding about what they are doing, yet if you knew anything about Kecak, you would know that it is a form of music-drama, and is entirely secular. In fact, Kecak performers in Bali often encourage tourists and onlookers to join in. Having an understanding of the origin is irrelevant; as long as the ultimate goal of the exercise is reached.

  • thats looks like heaps fun,,i wanna have a go

  • Way to appropriate natives cultures and turn it into a western curiosity - Disgusting.

  • ugh.... i like the authentic more, but this isn't bad

  • if you have never done this before, and you get the chance to take part in a monkey chant. do it. you wont regret it.

  • this is great! I would love to start my own Kecak here in Baltimore.. Bali-timore?

  • That sounds like the music from Avatar!

  • How would you know 8 months ago? Avatar just came out....

  • Avatar: The Last Airbender -- sorry for not being specific!

  • why is there so much hate? this is supposed to be something beautiful and sacred and all it is getting is bashed. i would love to be a part of something like this one day.

  • So leave. No one will miss you.

  • i will hahahha

  • this guy came to our school a few years ago... it was the best experience i had there... amazing

  • Not as good as the Balinese version, but it looks like a hell of a lot of fun to take part in.

  • Totally butcher the real thing.

  • I couldn't agree more.

  • Whoa. I wish I had a better copy of this.

  • Not if you're a dirty hippie!

  • this festival just looks like dirty hippies, seriously, wouldnt you rather be at a 5 star hotel on a beach?

  • you know nothing about hippie culture mate:)..that is sad but it is not my problem..

5* hotel?? ahaha..well..doing what?..dancing eurotechno crappy shit? or maybe some mtv shit? hippies are real ppl with great heart..not like you..a bunch of fake popboys looking for drugs to get high&drunk on ibiza isleand..sad sad SAD :)

  • Is the leader Paradox? He's an amazing performer!

  • The only name I know for him is "Grady". It could be that he calls himself "Paradox" at Burning Man.
