People sure get pissed that you pointed out a few goofs. As a film maker myself, I know goofs are inevitable. Don't post all the goofs in Star Wars, it would take three parts!
a lot of things happen OFF CAMERA. besides some mistakes of the door and such, no one cares about which way the bottle of liquor is facing and no one should care.
Do you know what a take is? Do you know that just about every scene in every movie has more than one take? Do you know that there is a special person who is responsible for the continuity of props so that these things are not so obvious and it's not really the director's responsibility? Do you know that in the editing room, the editors will mix up the many takes, overlap them, and don't have the responsibility of checking continuity of props? Do you know you need a life?
IT IS the best horror ever, I watched it when I was 6 and almost pooed my pants, now I watch it again at 32 and I have nightmares, always scary, always real horror.
All the things you point out in your video are supposed to be watched for and it is a person's job. It's called continuity. Unfortunately, many films fall short in this department, and not enough time and money is spent on continuity. Of course, for those of us watching the film for the first time, we'd barely notice any of these faux pas.
I always noted the fact that when Doc Copper's arms are torn off they are torn off ABOVE the jaw line and are quite clearly been pulled up and away! The effects crew head could just as easily be part of the thing ....(though I am sure you are right!). I have watched the film maybe 50 times and I have never noted any of these errors...so well done but on another level as William Shatner once said "Get a life it's just a TV Show"/FIlm !
...i applaud you on your attention to detail but i dont like watching these kinds of videos. it makes me aware of all the mistakes in movies and distracts me from enjoying the movie cuz i will concentrate to much on finding those mistakes instead of watching the movie...

the film is so good little mistakes like these are never noticed.. you just focus on the characters themselves and not the objects so much ..all of the scenes are symbolic even the shots w/o the characters, and thats the reason it's such a classic movie!! good eyes crowa wether you watched it a million times or not.. shits not easy to pin point..
The last part with the teeth...i don't see what your talking about. The teeth, if you look close enough when the belly opens up, sure do match the teeth upclose. It may be the lighting that tricks your eye cause of the person's body creating a shadow or only showing part of the light on the prop's teeth.
CrowaX you 're definitely wrong about the axe marks. The shot changes to "Mac", while "Childs" can be heard continuing slashing his way into the warehouse, before he smashes it in with his foot.
Also partially wrong about the TNT sticks : tape WAS already there - yet he indeed changes his grip on the bunch.
Finally, the teeth-like formations inside the belly of "Norris", are "ok" to be changing rapidly from tiny to...xtra large, since this seems to be the norm, considering the Thing's growth..
good catches on the mistakes except that last one. The thing isn't restricted to using just one kind of animal teeth so the fact it changes imo isn't really an error. Love the movie still.
See, now the last one I wouldn't call a goof, least not a huge one. To me it looks more like just the tips of the teeth are showing when it opens, and the whole teeth grow out of the the walls while the camera is off. Especially considering the nature of the thing, it seems more like bad cutting losing a second (in universe) than a goof with the teeth.
Still the best movie ever made, period! I've watched it close to 50 times and I haven't noticed most of these ;) And You forgot a few too ! Like the one when the Palmer thing hits the "ceiling" and a bit of it falls back... on the "ceiling" :D Also - when McReady torches the Palmer Thing, when it passes by him it's a dummy on a skateboard! There is also one where they all gang up on Doc when he goes nuts and one of the guys falls out of the screen :P

Lol! i believe that's the correct Movie Biz Term for the guy ( or plural) for the crew that makes sure all these sorts of little Props and "Things" ( lol! no pun intended!) are always available and set in the right place for each scene. interesting that you caught all this! how neat! I'm a huge fan of this movie and of course, have NEVER noticed all these little Faux Pax's. nice job. very observant.
Movie mistakes highlighted are just daft and nerdy. If you want to point something out that's amusing sure like someone changing coloured clothes mid scene fine but these things border on OCD.
1st: 0:15 "Almost no ice in the glass" I see a f#cking huge ice cube inside that glass, and since you can hear the ice blocks 'jingle' inside, you really can not claim there's almost no ice in the glass.
2nd: When the Norwegian got shot in the head, he moved his legs 2 seconds AFTER he fell down dead. HOW THE HECK DID YOU MISS THAT ONE?! ;-D
@julwin1985 I think the Norwegian moving his legs after getting shot was a death twitch. A lot of times after death our muscles have spasms like that.
Just one Thing after another... Ahem, I've seen IT10+ times and never spotted discontinuities. Just this last time I got more annoyed by dog-chopper mismatching. I love the move - the Music!. Scared the hell out of my mother when the cat jumped on the couch backing and ran down it dragging curtain bottom. Screamed and rolled off to the floor as monster grappled out of dog cage. I reminded her years later. She could not remember but niece, nephew & grand
Haha, nice. Though most of these are small, some glaring to the point I can't believe I missed them but none the less, that's what's good about this movie. That it is able to suspend your belief that much. This was funny to look at and does nothing to diminish the film at all. :)

ok, all were right except the very last one, being at a farther distance and then zoomed in where the light isn't bouncing off the teeth as much is just the difference. It is clearly the same jaw teeth, viewing it in a another line of sight is going to give it a slightly flexed look...
goofs are fun, but the last one was reaching a bit.....when is hands go through the teeth are semi exposed........it clamps down on him...that when they are seen in there true form...not really a goof.

I always noted the fact that when Doc Copper's arms are torn off they are torn off ABOVE the jaw line and are quite clearly been pulled up and away! The effects crew head could just as easily be part of the thing ....(though I am sure you are right!). I have watched the film maybe 50 times and I have never noted any of these errors...so well done but on another level as William Shatner once said "Get a life it's just a TV Show"/FIlm !

the film is so good little mistakes like these are never noticed.. you just focus on the characters themselves and not the objects so much ..all of the scenes are symbolic even the shots w/o the characters, and thats the reason it's such a classic movie!! good eyes crowa wether you watched it a million times or not.. shits not easy to pin point..

The last part with the teeth...i don't see what your talking about. The teeth, if you look close enough when the belly opens up, sure do match the teeth upclose. It may be the lighting that tricks your eye cause of the person's body creating a shadow or only showing part of the light on the prop's teeth.

CrowaX you 're definitely wrong about the axe marks. The shot changes to "Mac", while "Childs" can be heard continuing slashing his way into the warehouse, before he smashes it in with his foot.
Also partially wrong about the TNT sticks : tape WAS already there - yet he indeed changes his grip on the bunch.
Finally, the teeth-like formations inside the belly of "Norris", are "ok" to be changing rapidly from tiny to...xtra large, since this seems to be the norm, considering the Thing's growth..

See, now the last one I wouldn't call a goof, least not a huge one. To me it looks more like just the tips of the teeth are showing when it opens, and the whole teeth grow out of the the walls while the camera is off. Especially considering the nature of the thing, it seems more like bad cutting losing a second (in universe) than a goof with the teeth.

Still the best movie ever made, period! I've watched it close to 50 times and I haven't noticed most of these ;) And You forgot a few too ! Like the one when the Palmer thing hits the "ceiling" and a bit of it falls back... on the "ceiling" :D Also - when McReady torches the Palmer Thing, when it passes by him it's a dummy on a skateboard! There is also one where they all gang up on Doc when he goes nuts and one of the guys falls out of the screen :P

Lol! i believe that's the correct Movie Biz Term for the guy ( or plural) for the crew that makes sure all these sorts of little Props and "Things" ( lol! no pun intended!) are always available and set in the right place for each scene. interesting that you caught all this! how neat! I'm a huge fan of this movie and of course, have NEVER noticed all these little Faux Pax's. nice job. very observant.

Two mistakes within that video:
1st: 0:15 "Almost no ice in the glass" I see a f#cking huge ice cube inside that glass, and since you can hear the ice blocks 'jingle' inside, you really can not claim there's almost no ice in the glass.
2nd: When the Norwegian got shot in the head, he moved his legs 2 seconds AFTER he fell down dead. HOW THE HECK DID YOU MISS THAT ONE?! ;-D

Just one Thing after another... Ahem, I've seen IT10+ times and never spotted discontinuities. Just this last time I got more annoyed by dog-chopper mismatching. I love the move - the Music!. Scared the hell out of my mother when the cat jumped on the couch backing and ran down it dragging curtain bottom. Screamed and rolled off to the floor as monster grappled out of dog cage. I reminded her years later. She could not remember but niece, nephew & grand

Haha, nice. Though most of these are small, some glaring to the point I can't believe I missed them but none the less, that's what's good about this movie. That it is able to suspend your belief that much. This was funny to look at and does nothing to diminish the film at all. :)

9. The Thing decided to alter it's own teeth.

ok, all were right except the very last one, being at a farther distance and then zoomed in where the light isn't bouncing off the teeth as much is just the difference. It is clearly the same jaw teeth, viewing it in a another line of sight is going to give it a slightly flexed look...
