  • Don't use brake clean on rubber it dries it out and makes it crack, I would use an automotive cleaner that is known to be rubber safe like any sort of trusted brand dash cleaner. Compressed air can be used for blowing out debris. Hot water run through a garden hose works great for removing grease and dirt(don't use a power washer as it will inject water past the seals). Also, make sure that the grease that you use is not petroleum based, use a silicone based waterproof grease.
