That scrum was so effective because of the way the whole pack took three steps dipped there knees and drove England back. They are trying to teach that at Leinster at underage level
Still haven't won a WC, probably never will especially when Ireland go back to be the whipping boys of the 6 nations. Nothing tops the 2003 Grand Slam win for England.
@Talbot6832 We prob wont Talbot because we dont have the player pool. Still great to be able to knock the stuffing out of a team who can choose from 1/2 million registered players as opposed to our meagre 50,000 though! And regularly at that:)
@murrough1 There are only two matches since 2000 when you have beaten England by more than six points, those being in 2007 and 2011. Dont get me wrong, those were good wins. But hardly seems fair to say you "regularly" knock England's stuffing out. A good mark of getting the stuffing knocked out would be a points difference margin surely? Unfortunately for Ireland, if we date back from 2000, despite winning the majority of the games, you are on a -52 points difference with England
@91WillTaylor True Will, just meant this game though! I'm well aware of the hidings England have dished out to Ireland over the years, ive suffered them all. thats why we get a little excited with performances like this!!
@Talbot6832 We prob never will Talbot, too small a player pool! Still great to be able to knock the stuffing out of a team who have 1/2 million registered players to choose from as opposed to our 50,000 though!!! And quite frequently at that!
@Talbot6832 In the Six nations history England have traditionally been Irelands whipping boys. The five nations is a different matter, but the six nations, you're our meat to toss around...
@dadubs93 For now... while England reorganises its RFU and you make the most of the provincial rugby where by the entire team plays in one club. Additionally, while England have no cultural/historical motivation to beat Ireland the Irish certainly do. Besides, until Ireland win the WC, they have nothing to say. End of.
@Talbot6832 We have three teams that we could field in the six nations that could probably wipe the floor with England. Munster and Leinster certainly would, and arguably Ulster too althought Pienaar is quite influential for them.
If it wasnt for poor management and a conservative backs coach, Ireland probably would of atleast got to the final. How our backline was so underutilised despite having the most efficieny try scoring team in Europe as one of our provinces is a mystery. Ireland4-2012
@Talbot6832 well Ireland have beaten England in 6 of the last 7 six nations so i wouldn't want to bring that up especially since ireland have completely thrashed england twice since then
earls is such a skilled player, notice how he drops the ball onto his right foot, and without breaking pace hacks it on with his left,he was suppose to be a class footballer
the biggest obstacle ireland have in this up coming world cup is to cut out errors if they can do this and avoid injuries I feel on their day they will be able for anyone maybe besides the all blacks.
Ireland have the ability to go very far in the world cup...... they just need to be confident and know they can win as apposed to hoping they can win.
@RugbyPredictions i would say the french game in 07... emotionally and symbolically the England drubbing was amazing but i think as a contest and for the performance given the French match has it
the sad thing is if Earls had dropped that pass you just know all the experts would be blasting sexton for running a penalty.

Ireland fans are the best out there. You wouldn't hear that sort of noise anywhere in the world for dominating a scrum!

Ireland got the tape of Bryce Lawrence saying "crouch, touch, pause engage" and thats how they perfected the timing

@murrough1 True! I suppose one we can all relate to is beating the like of Oz or the All Blacks. The few wins make up for the tonne of losses!
