  • I'm impressed!

  • are those buzz sounds on purpose or is that a cpu overload

  • @gumdrops27 Overcompression mostly ...

  • did you at least pre record the loops

  • @TheFelixxRevolution Some of them, yes. But all the drums are triggered as midi clips. Cheers

  • i enjoyed this

  • brilliant! totally diggin the track and the technique!

are you triggering patterns with pads?

  • @pnakml Yes, Audio and Midi Clips, with hard midi assignation. Cheers

  • Isn't this just the poor mans APC40 ? (real question)

  • @dylvasey Don't think so:) The poor man's APC40 is the APC20 :)

The faders and the rotary knobs works exactly the same way, with the same BIG latency, but the pads are velocity sensible and send Aftertouch. This box is more the poor men's MPC2000, even more!

    Greetings

  • @akaratz I've done a bit of research now ha. The suggestion is that both the APC40 and the MPD24 are used in conjunction with one another, so I was well off ha.

I just got an APC40 today which was why I was asking. Great video btw.

  • @dylvasey APC doesnt have velocity sensitive pads ;)

  • @dylvasey apc is special made ableton.

  • Man, was watching this vid, then opened new page at what not, and just found myself nodding like crazy... this is good stff. keep it up brah

  • great stuff :)

  • i sell my good as new MPD24 for €100,- pm me if intressed.

  • @stinkyfingahz for a hundred bucks?!?!

  • Stop asking why the Screen is covered!!! My MPD is switchedon, for real!

The blue light of the scren was just disturbing the auto-brightnes of my webcam.

This is a simple pattern trigering exercise on 4 tracks, using some FX, noting more.

  • are u triggering scenes with the pads? if so how did u assign them?

  • @Dg8way : Using the Midi Learm Function in Ableton Live, Ctrl+M. Some of them (the scenes) are set as resume, not trigers, and some as repeat at 1/8 of the grid.

    Enjoy

  • funny that youre hiding the screen,.......

  • why you cover the lcd?

  • no one listens to techno

  • @Macncheezyyesweezy Not techno dude.

  • FAKE...xD paper... :S

  • @Hitmanmbb You're joking about this being fake right?

  • yo how do you get your faders and volume dials to work?

  • very nice... i think those samples (except the drums) could be better used on a dubstep track

  • hmmm seems like u can do both on it cause he is and i seen people playin individual drum hits so yea u can do both ur personal prefrence is a deifferent story as far as what u use it for personally im a hip ho vinyl records sample head with turntables dont really like this but i checked it out cause sometimes dnb is dope cause i can recongnize the breaks but yea let him do his thing cool song anyway i like that high pitched sound its dope peace brothers

  • i love the mpd24 but i only use mine with reason4

  • THIS IS SHIT.. its a drum pad not fuckin loop station

all hes doin is runnin premade breaks over a melody.. i could do that ffs..

  • And?suck!

    good job akaratz!

  • it is a midi controller. If it were a drum pad, it wouldn't need faders, dumbass.

  • if it weren't a drum pad it wouldn't have pressure sensitive pads

  • it is a midi controller with pressure sensitive pads. It sends and recieves midi data, and that is it.

  • yes.. WHICH MEANS IT IS A DRUMPAD YOU FUCKING PENIS.. jesus i hate people who just repeat things we all already know just to look intelligent..

all bits of hardware that plug into computers are midi controllers.. duh. so a midi keyboard isnt a keyboard? dont be stupid.

  • i agree, i want to get an mpd to supplement my apc for the simple fact that the mpd is for drumming by virtue of its pressure sensitive pads

  • You can do whatever you want with it as a matter of fact AbattoirDream. so suck it

  • nice!

  • Nice I like the sound - but why not use a limiter?

    I'm worrying about my speakers.

  • does thiz akai have note repeat?

  • not pro but not bad

  • whats up with the paper on the screen

  • didn't want to give away his maps

  • o ok

  • Amazing stuff. Sounds like Spor. Please, don't stop doing music. Keep it up.

  • nice work, not really into dnb, but its good to see how you make it, ...

  • phat! cool shit man.

  • what computer and what software are you using?

  • Only Ableton live, Bomes midi translator (become unusual due to firmware upgrade on my MPD), my old Asus Laptop and a shitty Audigy soundcard...

  • nice beat

  • thanks goes to the amen break

  • good stuff yo, what software ru using? keep it real...

  • Ableton live 6, and Akai MPD 24 :)

  • Very nice! Are the pads velocity sensitive?

  • Yes, velocity and also poly or chan aftertouch. In this case, the velocity is locked to "full level"

  • hey how did you loop the beats? im guessig what the 4 diagonal pads are for. can you tell me how?

  • i liked the track but i'm looking to see any live drumming

  • Hmm, prefer to trigger some loops, make them random ... Actualy I'm working on a "on the fly", starting from zero track, using a foot controler also ...

  • that was dope anyways

  • just got this drum pad... yas

  • this is so tight man i'm gettin'my set next year man this a Must have...so sick..nice video.

  • its awesome this!

u got anything else released on sociopath?

  • Yes, an EP & some releases in various compilations, some other netlabels also, but it's another story ...

  • Props to you guy but set it up first. Dont want to sound condosending but make sure your meters arent in the red dude. Word up tho.!

  • is it just me, or is the auido clipping?

  • yup.

  • Hmm, not realy, the drum compression is hard, with a slow atack. My sound card makes me some nice glitches on 5ms latency ...

  • cooooooool

    nice synkop's turning back.

    i like this tune :]

  • thats some crazy shit

  • can you add bass onto itself?

  • respect, nice track!

  • wow the drums are amazing i want them, no, i need them

  • dope shit

  • why di you give a paper to lcd display?,,??

  • I was asking myself the same question . . . can you please tell us, we're all very curious!! thanks

  • you know what . . the lcd screen seems glaringly bright on other videos, so my guess is that you hide it 'cause it gets annoying to get that glare in your eyes when you're just trying to chill & make music

  • why di you give a paper to lcd display?,,??

  • That is a SICK track! I normally don't prefer dnb, but I can tell that you do precise work. Well done, sir.

  • Good shit man! but i've gotta question. I'm gonna buy a mpd in a few weeks and i was wondering if you know if the mpd could work together well with a synth(novation xiosynth) with midi? Or should i connect both instr. on my pc? im gonna check the finished track on your link.

    keep it rocking dude!

  • Sure,

Just look at the 2 midi "in" & "out" cables behind this MPD24. I'm using it only with midi, there is a mess with the universal midi driver on my system. Just look to the mpd24 like a midi keyboard with aftertouch; there is no reason for me your setup not to work :)

    Enjoy the beast

  • You need a faster computer... Nice work though!

Record it next time while you make the video then render the audio after the fact and replace the audio on the video, This way you won't get any CPU overload sounds.

  • that right there... thats called cheating my friends

    uncover your LCD

  • Not at all dear :)

Like I said, It was token with a 20W eco lamp, in the night, & the blue light was too strong for this cheap webcam. Now I'm recording another one tgigger track, with a reac DV camera, it will be better for the screen, i hope :)

    Greetz

  • haha, I kinda know this bassline from somewhere... but it's been fun listening. keep up the good work, man :)

  • that was a wack beat i got an akai mpd24 and i could make way better beats matter of fact i actually just upload a video of my making a beats

  • bullshit alexkramers

  • very cool!!! nice work!

  • i really enjoyed this.

    im considering getting one.

knowing that i can make sick DnB like this though, is very convincing.

probably the best DnB ive seen on a Midipad yet over you tube. not to mention it was improv. im glad it was the same bass riff repeating over and over again, with the same drum track repeating over and over again.

    keep up the good work.

  • Why did you coverd the lcd??

  • Hmm, it was just too bright for my webcam :)

  • sikk track man. good job
