Of course this happens live, but some of these happenings on TV seem a little to staged at times, and there is a major benefit to the online poker sites in promoting this. Its kind of a blow to the online rigged theorists.
How many outrageous bad beats can I possibly get? This site is full of bots!! Ive been playing real live webcam poker on pokerview and its like the real thing without the insane amount of bad beats over and over. Wowww
@thejokerparty The reason why they said they did is because if you calculate the odds folding KK in his position is going to be the incorrect play most of the time. He made a great fold this hand but in most situations it would be the wrong play.
I love the commentators. At first they said "Folding kings would be a big mistake in this format" and then after he laid them down they were like "That's one of the greatest lay downs I've ever seen!" haha commentdonkaments.
lol you really don't understand poker, it was GREAT laydown by O'Mahoney, he thought someone has got aces, and he was right, he had only 17% for winning preflop and rightly folded it...
poor O'mahoney, but he was right to fold, it was getting obvious that one of them had pocket rockets, if that were me id have thought that the smug look written all over hickmans face was a pure bluff, i reckon he suspected that kallakis had aces, but couldn't bring himself to fold pocket queeens and went for it, and as we see, it paid off, THAT TIME.
prospect of a three way allin, latter stages of the tourney.. just get out the way. the virtual guarantee of an elimination with no risk to yourself is worth more than the chips plus the risk. nothing wrong with the fold.
The chances of having AA, KK and QQ all in play among 6 players here is about 70,000 to 1. Factor in the other two pocket pairs as well, and the odds become 5,000,000 to 1.
I actually once was in a hand with AA, QQ, JJ and 99, quite unlikely but nowhere near as incredible as this one.
the announcers in this show are so fucking annoying and says the weirdest shit! someone fire these idiots! the only reason i turn the channel! fuckin dork
I hate this poker announcer, the one that is just corny as hell. I wish the producer of the show would understand the audience strongly dislikes over exaggerated commentating. ONE OF THE GREATEST LAYDOWNS?!?!?!?!?! WTF ARE THESE PEOPLE SMOKING?!?!? DO YOU ACTUALLY KNOW THE ODDS OF HIM BEING UP AGAINST ACES?!?! THIS IS ONE OF THE SHITTEST FOLDS IVE EVER SEEN. total joke.
This has been happening to me all week. I'd have a hand like 99 and get one-upped with TT, I'd have TT and get one-upped with JJ, etc. Hell, I just got back from a game earlier tonight where my last hand of the night was my AJ up against A4, guess who gets cold-decked..... me.

lol you really don't understand poker, it was GREAT laydown by O'Mahoney, he thought someone has got aces, and he was right, he had only 17% for winning preflop and rightly folded it...
being the correct laydown doesnt make it a good laydown. if he was 100% sure he was up against AA then yes, muck them, but there he could be making the same move with QQ, JJ, AK. he had to be dead certain to make that laydown. against QQ, JJ he's 4-1 favourite then, AK he's 3-1. even if he's only 50% sure that the guy's got aces he's still getting equity to call.
You know the cards go to the players one at a time, right? So they came out 5, 7, Q, A, K, 5, 7, Q, A, K. That's not how cards normally come out of the deck, so it was shuffled. It's not like they were playing Uno beforehand.
To have all those people with all those pocket pairs the way they were in a one deck game with that many players... I'm putting the number on somewhere around 1 in 23 TRILLION. Not a joke or overexageration. You have to take into account the exponentional growth of the insane probability of odds... It's RETARDED.
If any1 of you knew a little bit of probability you would know that the probability of dealing all those pocket pairs is the same that dealiang any "regular" hand. If you look just only at 1 hand you can get ANYTHING. Now the probability of this hand would be 1 to aprox 2,57E+17.
umm No. You get dealt an ace, there are 4 of every other card left, only 3 aces. Just a little bit of probability for you.....you're more likely to be dealt something there is 4 of rather than 3. Durr.

I know this may sound stupid but can someone please tell me what is meant by "Cold Deck". I've never heard that before. Because 5 pocket pairs seems like the deck is on fire
AA KK QQ and a K on the flop. What are the chances that QQ would win this hand. He not only needed to hit his Q, he also needed the KK to fold. How often does that happen? Hellmuth says he has folded KK a few times, but I bet he didn't do it on TV. How embarrassing would that have looked had he been ahead of both players? Would have loved an Ace on the river, that would have meant 55 folded the winning hand.
I'm not convinced laying down KK in this format was a great laydown, this time he was right but I doubt its a +ve EV play, I agree with Harrington, probably more than half the time you won't be up against AA and if you are its just not your day
This situation it was a correct decision. This hand is what matters here. Heads up the call probably would have been made, but an high pair against suited connectors or high cards are hardly more than coin flips. With 2 players in the pot already, YES laydown is the right move. Get a read on one of those players, and the decision becomes so much easier
Heads up the call probably would of been made? Of course it would, if anybody considers folding KK heads up then they shouldn't be playing poker, even if the guy happens to have AA its still a losing stategy on the long run.
3 handed obviously complicates things a bit and Kallakis rereraise does scream aces but it is possible he is making that>> >
<<move with AK or JJ or even KK(very unlikely but still a possibility), I've seen Phil Ivy make that move with 64, granted Kallakis is less likely to make such a move but I think there is enough of a possibility that he doesn't have AA that you have to call. In a deep stacked cash game KK is foldable in this situation but here where the stacks aren't that deep I think you have to gamble and if he does have AA you can always dog him
A high pair versus suited connectors = 78% v. 22% . Pair vs. underpair = 80% vs. 20% If it is kings vs. AK = 65% vs 35%. Only one hand is a favorite and you still have a 1 in 5 chance to win it.

he shouldnt have folded because they are trying to come first and first only, if its a tourney and on the bubble I can accept it but come on, if he's got aces you are unlucky nothing more. just do it and STFU
lol i won $320 in this exact situation in a .50/1 game on MansionPoker. three players all in preflop including myself. the 20 came from a guy with JJ who folded preflop after three raises. this time the aces held up and i had a good time in the sweet shop the next day i should coco lol
Don't need to be a fake. I once folded Jacks after a raise and an all-in, another guy called and the raiser called. Turns out they had Queens, Kings and Aces.
The guy with aces is such a fish...I mean there was a raise and a reraise and he acts like he got to think for a year. I mean it's either push or fold anyway. Good read by the kings-guy, but that was pretty obvious.
Push or fold? There's no way he should fold. I would go all in (call me a fish as much as you want.) But the only thing he really shouldn't do is fold.
If that was Facebook everyone would be all in and some dick would have won with A-5

lol i won $320 in this exact situation in a .50/1 game on MansionPoker. three players all in preflop including myself. the 20 came from a guy with JJ who folded preflop after three raises. this time the aces held up and i had a good time in the sweet shop the next day i should coco lol
adamweir87 4 years ago
Just amazing. FOlding the kings and they would've held up.

this was an amazing lay down with kk incredible. but its unfair that this very good play is punished nearly everytime.

had the same hand once, AA vs KK vs QQ.. also had AA KK vs JJ, happens occasionally.. but that one was sick laying down kings..

Good read by the kings-guy, but that was pretty obvious.
xman2003 4 years ago
What? Why the hell would he push all-in with aces? You got aces, you don't want to discourage action. Sounds like you're the fish.
crimsonbleach 4 years ago
Push or fold? There's no way he should fold. I would go all in (call me a fish as much as you want.) But the only thing he really shouldn't do is fold.
TheUnnamedGent 4 years ago
so you'd just call? i wanna see you folding on k or q on the flop holding an overpair. -.-
