Estupenda música para soñar y disfrutarla.Esto es para las personas que aún no se han vuelto locas, pero aspiran ha serlo, aunque sea por un momento en una noche de verano bajo las estrellas, quizas mejor en la playa.
I'm not a Diana basher I appreciate who she is and what she meant to the group. However I will say that Flo and Mary were just as talented. I love all three women and what they brought to the group.
I'm probably going to piss a lot of people off, but here goes. Three things made the Supremes great and none of them are Diana Ross. 1) The outstanding songwriting team of Holland-Dozier-Holland. 2) The great musicianship of the Funk Brothers. 3) The beautiful, angelic harmonies of Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson. The first take on this video highlights all three.
After Flo was kicked out and H-D-H left Motown, The Supremes had nowhere near the success they had prior to their departure.
The Supremes are the Supremes, the group was and still is an entity! Just like with the Beatles.. there's depth of talent.. Take away half the tracks, and they still sound amazing! .... just love Mary and Flo, and the song is still magic!
ALL records have son writers, producers, background vocals and a band. I don't think anyone believes Diana wrote the song - or cares. It's a great record - Flo does sound great on it, but it would have hit with Marlene Barrow just as big (like you Can't Hurry Love did without Flo.) The only voice on all 12 1's was Ross'. The person who designed the look of the group and knocked herself out to make it the success it was. All The Supremes were great, but it was 90% Ross, in my opinion.
@supremester2 Those songs have been hits by anyone who has recorded them.............especially, "You Can't Hurry Love, "You Keep Me Hangin' On," "Love Child" and "Where Did Our Love Go." Yes, Diane brought something special to the trio AND the trio brought something special to Diane......................something special that has been missing since Flo Left in 1967 and since Diane went solo in 1970. It was never the same again for any of them!
Are you 5 years old? What has Diana Ross' talent and my interest in that have to do with my interest in other forms of musical entertainment? Answer: nothing. The truth is that her show is 25% Supremes songs, sung in the original length and style to wild acclaim followed by 75% of her solo songs that keeps the crowd on it's feet until she finally leaves the stage. Marketing cannot bring audiences to their feet for 2 hours. She has a strong, varied fan base that does not include you, weirdo.
@supremester2 When she finally DIES, the first thing written in her obituary will be "rose to international stardom as a member of the legendary Motown singing act, THE SUPREMES!!!!!" That pretty much says it all to me! Do you call everyone a "weirdo" if they don't agree with YOU?????? If the answer is "yes," then that pretty much says it all about you as well!
@kurtsupreme No. I idn't call you a weirdo because we disagree. I call you a weirdo because of the amount of time and energy you spend dissing her all over the internet - hundreds of posts just on YouTube. That to me, IS weird. No one is saying she wasn't a member of The Supremes, of couse her obit will say that - we agree on that. She was the star of The Supremes, the reason they got signed, the reason Motown stuck with them, and the reason the soared. Her success continued after as well.
@supremester2 I don't disagree with your facts; however, all I ever said was that the legendary SUPREMES were just a much better act than Diane was a solo performer..........I'm sticking by that! The reason why I spend time dissing Diane is because clever marketing of her brand over the years has taken the emphasis off the legendary trio and on to her. Just because no one is promoting the legacy of THE SUPREMES does not mean that they should be denied their rightful place.........THE legend!
@supremester2... to continue, I think that it is WEIRD that there are people that have listened to all the propaganda out there that says that Diane WAS the Supremes. They were so much more than Diane despite the huge role that she played in their success. When I listen to Diane still telling the same old lies (40 years later) about how Flo left to start a family and how the name of the group was changed so that they could demand more mony, it makes me sick to my stomach! Are people stupid?
@supremester2 ..and finally, forget their iconic visual image and unique performances, forget their 12 number one hits, forget their impact on the image of Black women in the 1960's, and forget their palce in 1960's history behind only Elvis Presley and The Beatles. Jjust listen to this site (with Diane's voice removed)! You can hear Flo's soaring soprano, The funk Brothers, HDH's songwriting, and something special that's been missing since the 1960's..........all so much more than just DIANE!
If Diane is so great, then why are you listening to a SUPREMES site where all of the pieces are intact except Diane whose voice has been removed? You obviously love THE SUPREMES! All I've ever said is that the legendary trio was just a better act than Diane ever was as a solo act. Her solo career continues because of clever marketing and promotion despite the fact that her oldies shows now feature her as a SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTIST!!! The truth is that MOST people couldn't care less about Diane!
@jdoesmith85210 I love the mono mixes as well. Diana Ross and The Supremes' Ultimate Collection has the original mono single mixes and is the only version of the hit's I'll play.
@jdoesmith85210 I could not have agreed with you more . . . you are right on the money . . . when I play my lps or 45s, they sound SO MUCH BETTER than the cd versions . . . more feeling . . . the vocals . . .the music . . . and as you stated, the fantastic bass sound . . .
Detroit's Glory Days - the 50's and 60's. Great Cars with Great Tunes!!! The Motor City is decaying but like many restore a old classic out of Detroit - I hope we hear a symphony!!!! Detroit was once a thriving city!!!! How can Detroit be restored? Everytime I see a restored Cadillac I feel her old glory lives on ................. The Supremes are Legendary!!
@DetroitLove4U I see your fat cow ass is still on here grunting with Kurt the Nutty Turd that thinks hes a Supreme. both of you two tons of fun make me fall out lol everytime i see your pitiful attempts to make folks believe that Flo and Mary were actually what made the supremes great. LOL..they were nothing more than stage props. they could sing well but would have sound the same behind any other Lead singer and would have Remained behind any other lead singer becasue both voices were bland
@paul51 I do understand that calling someone a silly "Ross as a solo act" fan is one of the most humiliating remarks anyone can say to another human being. It is the lowest of the low and the most ignorant of the ignorant. I apologize for such a base remark; however, sometimes I lose my head over you and your kind's STUPIDITY!!!!!! Your idolization of a woman who once fronted the mighty SUPREMES and who today is not as good as most of the "SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTISTS" is most disturbing.
@kurtsupreme ONE: I just do not understand YOUR stupidity . . . my coment to you was in no way, shape or form insulting or rude . . . yet your comment to me was. Grasp this once again, if you can. I was a Supremes' fan first and foremost. After Miss Ross left the group, I followed the group and saw the group in person many times, as long as Ms. Birdsong was still there. I have many, many autographs by Cindy, Mary and Scherrie and pictures with these ladies . . .
@kurtsupreme TWO: Just like I followed The Supremes after Miss Ross the group, I have followed Miss Ross since she kissed them goodbye. I am a Ross solo act fan, what of it? Does it bother you? If so, please go back on your meds and get a life . . . and please face reality that after all these years, Miss Ross is still touring, receiving rave reviews, and will be taking her new show to Europe and the Orient , accept that. I will not reply to any of your childish comments after this posting.
@paul51 Well, by your own admission, you are a SILLY "Ross as a solo act" fan! I guess we have nothing more to say to each other than the fact that Diane is basicly using her name to stage "oldies" concerts all over the country in small theatres and casinos where all the other "oldies" act ( except the houses near cities where she can attract a larger "gay audience) perform. In Europe, she seems to be a big deal......not so, here. It is ironic that she has become a "SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTIST!"
@kurtsupreme I just had to reply one more time to yet another silly comment of yours. Radio City Music Hall, The Nokia Theater in Los Angeles . . .small venues? I think not. Please Turdy-Kurdy, go back on your meds. And, why shouldn't Miss Ross sing Supreme hits? After all, it IS her voice out front, SINGING LEAD, not Flo's much less mary's. Oh, Turdy-Kurdy, you seem like a very bitter person . . . hum, like mary . . . both of you . . . please move on. You are now dismissed.
@paul51 Why do I have to repeat myself? She plays the oldies circuit in small theatres and casinos except near large cities where she can attract a large enough gay crowd to fill those houses. Why shouldn't Diane sing Supremes' hits? She shouldn't because she has spent the last 40 years disassociating and minimizing the Supremes' legacy..that's why! Now, she's singing THEIR songs? That and the fact that she sounds like a cow pulling its foot out of the mud! She doesn't sing ....she shreiks!
@kurtsupreme Turdy-Kurdy, why oh why are you soooo jealous of Miss Ross. Is it because she still CAN tour, and pack them in - bringing in mega bucks, and not to mention looking more beautiful than ever - and you would call RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL an oldie circuit? Oh Turdy-Kurdy - such a niave old man you are - and Miss Ross played the Nokia for the first time - you know, the venue where the recent Emmys and Billboard Music Awards were held. Turdy-Kurdy, STOP YOUR DRIVEL AND MOVE ON.
@paul51 No, the Kodak and Radio City are not oldies circuits, they are large houses near the largest gay capitals of the country............why don't you read what I say instead of making me repeat myself THREE TIMES?????!!!!!!!! She can only pack the largest houses when she has lots of gay people to pack them. In all other parts of the country, she plays small theatres and casinos.......her show is now an "oldies" act portraying herself as a SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTIST adding her old solo hits.
@paul51 Funny that YOU said that.......I've been thinking the exact same thing about you! I really don't get you silly "Ross as a solo act" fans. After experiencing the original lineup of the legendary Supremes, all of the individual parts are just remnants of the trio which was the REAL deal. Diane, although a big part of the original trio is merely a remnant to me. The fact that her ego is even more huge than before and that her voice is in serious deterioration just makes me more baffled.
@kurtsupreme when r u gonna stop snorting cocaine with Mary? I meanl, get sum help..YOu got to be one sick fat drag queen with no life still harping about sum shit that went down 45yrs ago. U spend all day going through dianas videos..NOTHING you say will Stop folks from KNOWING THAT DIANA was Is and will always BE the SUpremes..even YOUR idol Mary says that Diana is the voice of the Supremes you sick FOOL.. I bet you dress up like Mary or FLo and go oooooooew..ooooooooo behind Diana...
@kurtsupreme A) Diana Ross plays the same theatres that other A list acts like Tony Bennett, Liza and others do. She is not sold as, nor does she perform, an oldies act on a bill with other acts like the oldies circuit. B) She naturally plays bigger houses in bigger cities - as all acts do. C) The percentage of gay attendees is no larger than it was at The Supremes' gigs in the 60's(about 10%) - but so what if it did? Is there something wrong with gay people paying 125-200 per ticket?
@kurtsupreme While Mary Wilson has tried to paint Diana ross as diminishing her Supremes' heritage - the opposite is true and the facts prove it. Listening to her live albums, there is always a tribute to The Supremes. Great care is given to The Supremes in her Specials of '77, '79, '81 and '83. It's her voice that sold those Supremes records in the 60's and her talent that put them over live. She is the only Supreme on the groups alltime biggest hit, Love Child. She IS The Supremes legacy.
@supremester2 actually she was in a relationship with motown owner Barry Gordie thats how she got the leg up her voice is very pretty but diana was not lead solely on talent
@kurtsupreme I see your old wanna be Mary Wilson fat drunk ass is on here again trying to attack a Ross fan. Well come my way you fat hog. Dont get mad at us Supreme Ross fans because your idol flo caused her own downfall and Mary's only claim to fame is she once sang(if u can call that flat dry voice of hers singing)as a back up singer for Diana..who was and is the Only Supreme still getting rave reviews 30yrs after making the Supremes a household name. Even the oldies Only play diana supremes
@kurtsupreme What's disturbing is your fanatic trashing of a pop music icon. It's cool if you don't like her, no star has everyone's interest, but your incessant rants on Youtube are weird and obesssive. The public has spoken and likes Diana Ross. That's why she still sells out tours at high prices Both Flo and Mary attempted solo careers and failed to even get a decent record deal. Mary currently tours as an oldies act or clubs usually to less than 100 people in the audience.
@kurtsupreme get your paws and claws off of Paul51 for i have to hunt you down rip off a sleeve of Mary Wilsons old gown that she through out and you found in the dumpster and choke u. You want to be Mary Wilson? theres a drag show evevry thursday..see if mary will lend you a couple of bucks she made off those old raggy forgotton about Supremes gowns that no one remembers or cares about..maybe u can purchase a cheap wig that looks like Marys today. a co worker saw Mary said she has a big Belly
ohhhhhhhhh, geeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz its so frustating to have to tell the world again it was MARY WILSON , not Mary Wells, who was and is the remarkable international treasure. Miss Wells has passed away decades ago, ...sorry.
It's what Ross has never understood... it was the trio of voices that made the Supremes not just her and any two singers, but Mary & Florence... Diane, Mary & Flo made magic, till 1967, the rest is tragic. What could have been ??? If Berry hadn't been dipping Miss Ross? They could have all had solo careers.... These women call all sing really well...
@cmptrwiz Oh go get dried out. diana would have been a hit with any one singing behind her..THere were NO supremes mary cindy or flo on Love Child or Someday. both of which became no.1.s didnt have a damn thing to do with diana and berry relationship you cabbage head! diana had six no.1 pop songs without any supremes and a few after berry stopped sleeping with her ..get a life. even the Vandellas could hav sang behind diana and the results would have been the same
The 2000 Return to Love Tour NEVER got off the ground because Diana Ross and Mary Wells could not cast aside all their transgressions that've surfaced over the years. Put MORE of the BLAME on Ms Ross.
Love Mary & Miss Flo's backgrounds! A wonderful unique sound support for Diana's impeccable lead.... They were all right for each other. Thanks for putting this up.
I think kurt got it right. They are the Supremes. Diana, think of where she would be without the Supremes (and no small measure of promotion from Barry) . As much as she made the Supremes, they made her. And maybe that is the dividing line, 50. I remember the Supremes and nothing Diana did afterwards ever met that standard. Remember, the Pyramids are just a pile of rocks without the foundation. Supremes are Diana's foundation. Too bad she forgot that. Terrific music though.
There's nothing wrong with becoming a solo superstar, the way Ms. Ross and Mr Gordy did it was classless and disgusting. RIP: FLO, WE LOVE YOU AND WE WILL ALWAYS MISS YOU!!!!!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Poor kurt supreme without Diana Ross as lead, Berry Gordy & Motown wouldn't have put their money and talent behind the Supremes. Mary & Flo were very talented but like it or not the one the world remembers is Diana Ross. The fans remember Mary & Flo but Diana Ross became a household name like the Supremes name. Sad but very true. That fact broke Flo's heart & Mary's confidance.
Maybe the world under the age of 50 remembers Diane. Those over 50 remember the SUPREMES first and foremost...................I beg to differ with you!
Babyluvchild, Aha! Just as I thought! You are 46 years old. You weren't even born when the Supremes were America's Sweethearts. You were 6 when Diane left The Supremes. YOU are going to tell ME about The Supremes and how they are perceived by the "World?" I don't think so!!!!!!!! Shouldn't your name be "upsidedownboss???" How dare you quote scripture and verse to me about The legendary SUPREMES you silly, uninformed "Ross as a solo act" fan!!!! The movie was Dreamgirls, not DREAMGIRL!
I don't even miss not hearing Diane. They should have released this version in 1965..........it would have probably still been number one! What is it that people say about Diane being The Supremes? Diane who?????????????
This is one of Diana's best vocal performances with the supremes. I bet Mary would even agree. Angelic. Don't let the politics ruin the music. The music is above that.
swso2000, "I Hear a Symphony" (with all three ladies) is absolutely my very favorite of the 12 number one hits by the legendary trio. I'm just playing devil's advocate with the "Ross as a solo act" fans who like to tell everyone that Diane IS the Supremes. The failure of the 2000 Retrun To Love tour and this site which plays this flawless recording without Diane is further proof that Diane WAS NOT The Supremes. The incredible songs, background vocals, and instrumentals are also a part !
This tune was definitely for young lovers everywhere - truely timeless!! - it was released by Motown on October 6, 1965, and it hit Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 20, 1965-
This song is definitely one of those classic "I'm in love with a wonderful guy and it's great to be alive!" When you're in love you're almost levitating with joy and just the thought of your beloved is joyful.
I was dating my husband Norman when this song was racing up the charts. I remember hearing it at dances, basketball games, restaurants, skating rinks, etc.
Norm, whenever you're near I truly hear a symphony. You bring such joy into my life. I'm lost in world made for you and me.
This is just one of the many reasons why no other female singing group has ever even come close to their talent, nor their body of hit songs. May God embrace Florence Ballard's spirit, with His love.
Beautiful thanks for posting - it's so lovely to hear Flo's strong soulful backing along with Mary's sweeter sound, ooooooo so heavenly and then with Diana yes I do hear a symphony
When you can actually hear Flo, as here, you understand what made the Supremes' background vocals so different from the personality-less other female groups. With Mary adding that softer tone, she and Flo actually sound like singers. They blend seamlessly and they sound full, distinct. Just a dreadful waste of talent.
I love Diana, but I do not understand why Motown in it's great wisdom did not utilize the other Supremes voices....the members of the Temptations were allowed to sing lead at some point of time.
when H-D-H started working with the Supremes more closely, Berry Gordy decided that Diana Ross had the kind of voice that could sell records, and therefore, she was made the lead singer, much at the expense of Flo Ballard and Mary Wilson-
@Branner .......My Friend, I simply CanNOT agree with you MORE! I love your observation, and it proves that 'you' listened as well as I did and still DO, which is how I know when it IS them and when it is NOT them in certain recordings! But you so eloquently put it, that it cannot be compounded upon without distorting the intensity of what you said! Love it!

It is ironic that she has become a "SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTIST!"
kurtsupreme 1 year ago
@kurtsupreme I just had to reply one more time to yet another silly comment of yours. Radio City Music Hall, The Nokia Theater in Los Angeles . . .small venues? I think not. Please Turdy-Kurdy, go back on your meds. And, why shouldn't Miss Ross sing Supreme hits? After all, it IS her voice out front, SINGING LEAD, not Flo's much less mary's. Oh, Turdy-Kurdy, you seem like a very bitter person . . . hum, like mary . . . both of you . . . please move on. You are now dismissed.
paul51 1 year ago 2
@paul51 Why do I have to repeat myself? She plays the oldies circuit in small theatres and casinos except near large cities where she can attract a large enough gay crowd to fill those houses. Why shouldn't Diane sing Supremes' hits? She shouldn't because she has spent the last 40 years disassociating and minimizing the Supremes' legacy..that's why! Now, she's singing THEIR songs? That and the fact that she sounds like a cow pulling its foot out of the mud! She doesn't sing ....she shreiks!
kurtsupreme 1 year ago
@kurtsupreme Turdy-Kurdy, why oh why are you soooo jealous of Miss Ross. Is it because she still CAN tour, and pack them in - bringing in mega bucks, and not to mention looking more beautiful than ever - and you would call RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL an oldie circuit? Oh Turdy-Kurdy - such a niave old man you are - and Miss Ross played the Nokia for the first time - you know, the venue where the recent Emmys and Billboard Music Awards were held. Turdy-Kurdy, STOP YOUR DRIVEL AND MOVE ON.
paul51 1 year ago
@paul51 No, the Kodak and Radio City are not oldies circuits, they are large houses near the largest gay capitals of the country............why don't you read what I say instead of making me repeat myself THREE TIMES?????!!!!!!!! She can only pack the largest houses when she has lots of gay people to pack them. In all other parts of the country, she plays small theatres and casinos.......her show is now an "oldies" act portraying herself as a SUPREMES TRIBUTE ARTIST adding her old solo hits.
kurtsupreme 1 year ago
@kurtsupreme . . poor Kurt-the-Turd . . . you just don't get it, do you . . . come to think of it, maybe that's the problem.
paul51 1 year ago

@blkshepherd , touche! What the hell is kurt whatever his name is problem, he sounds so sad and bitter.

Is there something wrong with gay people paying 125-200 per ticket?
supremester2 1 year ago

Try and get your facts right.......

These women call all sing really well...
cmptrwiz 1 year ago
@cmptrwiz Oh go get dried out. diana would have been a hit with any one singing behind her..THere were NO supremes mary cindy or flo on Love Child or Someday. both of which became no.1.s didnt have a damn thing to do with diana and berry relationship you cabbage head! diana had six no.1 pop songs without any supremes and a few after berry stopped sleeping with her ..get a life. even the Vandellas could hav sang behind diana and the results would have been the same

Hearing this song really shows the importance of Mary and Flo's talent & contribution to the Supremes. Thanks! I'm grateful to hear this. *)*

That fact broke Flo's heart & Mary's confidance.
babyluvchild 2 years ago
Maybe the world under the age of 50 remembers Diane. Those over 50 remember the SUPREMES first and foremost...................I beg to differ with you!
kurtsupreme 2 years ago 2
Babyluvchild, Aha! Just as I thought! You are 46 years old. You weren't even born when the Supremes were America's Sweethearts. You were 6 when Diane left The Supremes. YOU are going to tell ME about The Supremes and how they are perceived by the "World?" I don't think so!!!!!!!! Shouldn't your name be "upsidedownboss???" How dare you quote scripture and verse to me about The legendary SUPREMES you silly, uninformed "Ross as a solo act" fan!!!! The movie was Dreamgirls, not DREAMGIRL!
kurtsupreme 2 years ago 3
I don't even miss not hearing Diane. They should have released this version in 1965..........it would have probably still been number one! What is it that people say about Diane being The Supremes? Diane who?????????????
kurtsupreme 2 years ago

I have always loved this song, but I love it even more hearing Flo and Mary's background vocals-
christheone8773 2 years ago 3
When you can actually hear Flo, as here, you understand what made the Supremes' background vocals so different from the personality-less other female groups. With Mary adding that softer tone, she and Flo actually sound like singers. They blend seamlessly and they sound full, distinct. Just a dreadful waste of talent.
Branner 3 years ago 22
I love Diana, but I do not understand why Motown in it's great wisdom did not utilize the other Supremes voices....the members of the Temptations were allowed to sing lead at some point of time.
ekocentric 2 years ago 4
when H-D-H started working with the Supremes more closely, Berry Gordy decided that Diana Ross had the kind of voice that could sell records, and therefore, she was made the lead singer, much at the expense of Flo Ballard and Mary Wilson-
christheone8773 2 years ago 2
@Branner .......My Friend, I simply CanNOT agree with you MORE! I love your observation, and it proves that 'you' listened as well as I did and still DO, which is how I know when it IS them and when it is NOT them in certain recordings! But you so eloquently put it, that it cannot be compounded upon without distorting the intensity of what you said! Love it!

My last video I could upload in stereo with some extra settings, before I had to transfer it maybe you know what I mean.
But I heard that youtube don´t take stereo any more also with the extra settings.
But a nice video anyway
thx for posting 5*
