Hitler always wanted it to be his way which is pretty much why Germany lost, well that and b/c of Stalingrad when the Russians grabbed them by the throats and then the D-Day landings when the Allies grabbed them by the balls. Hitler would've "ethnically cleanse" Russia if he'd won the war, but since he's dead we'll probably never know if he would've killed more people than Stalin if he still lived.

@soldatordinaires hitler was hesitant because he was mentally insane because he had parkinsons disease and took a lot of drugs (including meth) which also explains why he couldnt run an army. also german technology may have been superior in a west europe setting, but in a place as cold as russia they had to light fires under the tank engines so they would start, when the t34s were just as capable as panzer IV's and more maneuverable, and german anti tank guns couldnt destroy them(except pak40)
