  • For those of you who don't know yet:

Check "Elizabeth Bathory" on wikipedia :)

After this, the song has a deeper meaning for me.

  • I love the part from 1:30 to 2:07 ...Is the voice of an angel calling...

  • what a beautiful voice! Gonna look at this group

  • Love the solo part! :O

  • very haunting voice.....superb song

  • iche liben dich Kamelot!

  • i find the story of lady elizabeth bathory creepily fascinating o.o

this was suggested to me by a friend~ thanks frand for showing me a great song♥

  • About "Mirror Mirror": Elizabeth once slapped a female servant so hard that her blood splashed over Elizabeth's arm. After cleaning it, she realized that her skin (where blood dropped on) looked younger, smoother and more lively than before. So she started torturing, killing young women and bathing in their blood. That's why we can hear creepy sounds of torturing, crying and screaming in the last part.

  • @baolocnguyenbk Thanks! I finally understand the album cover art of Karma now

  • The Elizabeth trio is based on the story about Elizabeth Bathory - a Hungarian countess lived in 17th century. She is labelled as one of the cruelest women of all time. Rumours said that she killed more than 600 young girls and women.

  • @baolocnguyenbk i found on google that she killed 1200 young women :D

  • @sissinew : No one knows exactly how many ppl she killed. But the convicted number was only 80. Of course the real number must have been much more higher.

  • Please anyone tell theres a instrumental of this?

  • Amazing song.

  • He actually sounds better live on this song which is amazing to me. <3

    He is my vocal hero.

  • beautiful song

  • the last part was very creepy. its like, "Elizebeth...wake up...Elizebeth...wake up"

  • Not only did Elizabeth bathe in the blood of virgins, she also drank it.

She was only put on house arrest because she was royalty, and royalty at the time could not be executed.

  • the song deals with elisabeth bathory, not dorian gray's history.

    wiki is your friend

  • The whole elizabeth song is possibly one of Kamelot's darkest...

  • They actually did not know she had killed as many virgins as she did until they searched her house after she died (4 years after they put her on 'house arrest') and they found a book with all the names of the virgins she killed. They only though it was 80, but it was over like 600 or something.

  • @sqwo13 Damn! Seriously?!

  • They actually did not know she had killed as many virgins as she did until they searched her house after she died (4 years after they put her on 'house arrest') and they found a book with all the names of the virgins she killed. They only though it was 80, but it was over like 600 or something.

  • Elizabeth Bathory was never tried or convicted of any crime

  • @divadking1 Yes she was, she died walled inside her castle for it

  • cool

  • this one is close to perfection... 1'30: so beautiful.... live in Paris 31st March!!!

  • is this based on Dorian Gray's history?

    beautiful...

  • @elfalara : actually is based on the story of Elizabeth Bathory.

  • @juleez73 Báthory Erzsébet

  • @elfalara That's the story of Elisabeth Batory.

  • simply perfect!

  • Just the melody makes you hear it!

    Kamelot 4 ever and ever!

  • "elizbeth.....wake up" my fave part!

  • bunch of benders

  • @thereeno If you concider Kamelot as a bunch of benders why the hell you commented under their song anyway?!?!?! It was way easier just to leave this page wasn't it? Or you want to show to all Kamelot fans here what a music profesionalist you are???? Well it didn't worked! Piss off!

  • @celuv4e haha i cant even remember sending that comment so more than likely it wasn't sent by me and i've never even seen this video so i'll assume i left my account open somewhere and someone else sent it! plus ive also never heard of kamelot

  • is the best song of kamelot i have ever hear...

  • i think this is one of the kamelot's track wich is not comercial and it's incredible

  • Have I found myself eternity?

That part gives me goosebumps! So awesome!

  • I love it!

  • oh this is one of my favorite songs by Kamelot! i could listen to this song forever! i love just love this song! :)

  • I Kamelot sono i migliori!!! p.s. "Papi" al rogo

  • to get the 3 parts you must have read up on the blood countess. ;D (aka Countess Elizabeth Báthory)

  • Better than the live.

  • Oh my god, this one sounds much greater live then here with this studio version, but is still amazing! Khan is such a great singer, love this song!!!!!

  • sorry, but it isn't Erszebet, but Erzsebet. ( actually Erzsébet.)

  • At least I didn´t write Elizabeth. D,

  • true...

  • can someone explain me or send me the lyrics? i don't really understand...

    this song is wonderful

  • Yes, it is. I found the lyrics by google: Kamelot mirror lyrics.

  • yes, as said by antipodkayne, just google it, karma / elizabeth 1 / kamelot...

  • Of course serial killers do not deserve any songs, and Erszebet was actually a sexual sadist, not old woman desiring youth and beauty, but this song is wonderful, like a dark fairy-tale. Actually, many fairytales are dark!

  • i agree, they don't deserve anything... but this song is really great...

yes many fairy tales are dark, that's the main intention... ever heard Ghost in the fog from Cradle of Filth? dont know if you like death metal, but such song is like some kind of fairytale which so dark...

    thanks for the comment...

  • True, Grimm tales are decidedly grim (pun intended!) I have never heard ´Ghost in the fog, but their songs have that dark fairy-tale-like beauty. I don´t know have this song meant to be Snow white reference - vain villainess speaking with mirrors - but yep, the song is wonderful!

  • indeed, Grimm tales always have some chilly background...

ghost in the fog is a great song, mostly the video, i mean, the forest, dark, misty, that kind of stuff...

i guess vain villainess have this tendency to be narsisist or something alike, that's why the mirrors are always around. And also, some tales show mirrors as portals to other darky dimmensions, spooky stuff... felt chills... he

  • Mirrors and vampires... I think I must check Ghost in the fog!

  • mirrors and vampires.. good combo, huh...

did you check'd on Ghost in the fog yet?

    regards!

  • Oh yes, vampires and mirrors = good combo! And yep, I checked Ghost in the fog. I liked it, gorgeous lyrics!

  • glad you liked it... regards!

  • Actually she believed the blood would help her get eternal life. Although it doesn't make up for killing all ze virgins. : p

  • yes, she believed that the blood of pure and virgin women would give her youth and beauty... too bad huh.

  • It's only a rumour that she had actually bathed in virgin blood. But she did kill a supposed 600, though she was only convicted of killing 80.

She was one messed up bitch, is all I can see.

  • some say that she actually killed over 2000 she got convicted when she killen a noble girl

  • @qeinar: * according to legend. In reality, there are no documented stories of her actually bathing in blood, or searching for eternal life. She was, however, the most successful serial killer in history.

  • i like the lyrics of this song. the history of elizabeth bathory is very interesting^^

    mirror can you tell me

    how to stay forever young

    let me know the secret

I will hold my twisted tongue

    please protect my beauty

velvet skin so pure and white

    hear my name resounding

like a hymn at dead of night(8)

  • once I struck a servant

she's a virgin free from sin

    drops of blood caressed me

    and refined my aging skin

  • Yeah, because of Elizabeth Bathory, right?

    That is more creepy!

  • right... do you know her story? it is creepy...

  • yes, Very

  • but cool... huh

    a good and interesting subject : )

  • Really awesome song, but the whispering parts, are really creepy for me because Elizabeth is my actual name.

  • wow...do you know why the song is called Elizabeth? that's more creepy.

you have a pretty name though. Thanks for the comment and glad you liked it!

  • sounds in key here.

  • Ya.... im replying to myself to disagree with my self. I now think it sounds fine after I bought the cd. I'ts just that he sings it so differently than the version on one cold winter's night that I wasn't used to his younger singing voice yet.
