  • thanks for helping me with my government project man

  • @Runescape5490 guess my poli sci degree is good for something :(

  • The LP has a lot of work to do. There are only about 15,000 Libertarians in the WHOLE country.. yeah.

the National LP budget is not even half a million, don't even mention what the state LP organizations rake in. So no we will never be able to compete money wise.. I completely agree that we do not do a good job at making the case that we are a viable 3rd party with ideals that are not "crazy radical".

  • @JustaLibertarian 15,000? there's gotta be more than that. or do you mean registered. I cant' "register" libertarian. or at least when i signed up my affiliation it was no available. only "independent" was available. and when the duet has their primaries, and they mention on t.v. "you'll be receiving your primary tickets in the mail" of course I get nothing.

The good old duet, making sure there's not a 3rd voice.

  • @shakaama

15,000 is the number of paid dues members of the party as of 2009. There are obviously many more people registered to vote as Libertarian.. however the Party does not appear to be doing a great job at getting all those people active.

  • yea you're making good points, your numbers are off though, you don't need 20 million to win house seats, its more like a million in many cases, anyway yea the libertarian party up to now has been all about the principles, now it has to become a machine to make the principles work through elections, so yea its all about continuing to develop and sustain the principles while turning on the machine....

  • I got to dissagree on the bush part of it bush won on A NON interventilst plank go on here and watch the 00 RNC nomation of bush it freaking weard..

the libertarian party has alot of ppl that thing pot smoking is ok and alot of ppl dont thing so I am one too but I decised to take a risk seeing as BOTH PARYS SUCK IN 08 so I wanteed some thing new..

  • @spmandmtgr it's not that they think pot smoking is ok. it gets down to the core and corruption of politics. pot was illegalized not because of pot smoking, but because businesses didn't want the competition, so they made it illegal. this is politics as usual these days, buy a politician to help your business. completely unconstitutional.

  • will I may dissagreee with you but the fack remands that lots of Libertarians have the same thought thanking and alot of ppl enclodeing me dont like it... thats why the Libertarian lose alot of the time and thay dont like war evan if its a rigtht a right and just war thay sill dont like it and alot of ppl have no problem with war at lest the ones that I meat and hang around with

  • I think that you have a lot of good things to say. I disagree that you need so much money. Others have mentioned Social Networking. I do agree that you need to get in contact with 50% of your voters. I've seen successful campaigns run simply through walking door to door. What we as Libertarians need to do is start at the local level. Win School Board Positions, win City Counsel Seats, mayoral campaigns. Americans generally believe in our platform, it's time that we step out and be more outspoken

  • exactly. people want to run before they walk here in America, but when i suggest those positions i get shooed away. So i made this video of the reality of what a campaign is for. Sure you don't need that much money, but you better have close to it, to be even considered as a real candidate.

  • 20 million for a House seat is wildly exaggerated. You can win a Senate seat for far less than that if you manage time and resources. TV ads/yard signs are overrated, as are hired campaigners. Persuading face to face, collecting names, and getting people to vote is all a matter of time and commitment. The free social networking resources of the Internet has drastically reduced the costs of running a campaign. I'm running for a Kansas state seat as a Libertarian and feel confident that I will win

  • more power to you. and you're right about the face to face interaction. I couple that with the campaign contributions. But we need a clear expectation of what it takes. People do not know what it takes. In Kansas may not cost $20 million but in other states it might even be more.

The media also pays attention to campaigns that raise millions of dollars. So the sheer raising of the capitol gets you free publicity.

  • I agree to a point. But this is a 2 party system. The only reason Ron Paul has gotten so much exposure is because he is a republican member of congress. We need enough libertarians to run in the upcoming elections. Schiff, Rand Paul are our 2 best chances. Use the republican party as a platform and once in, then form a "Libertarian Caucus." Many Dems and Repubs would flock to that caucus. Thats my opinion.

  • Well i agree, and that's what Peter Schiff is doing. he was asked why he was running under the repub ticket and he said "i want to win".

Listen, I of all people know how the game is done. I think most libertarians are young people with stars in their eyes. If more of them looked around and were as machiavellian as the rest, then the libertarian party would get ahead.

  • You are great. You should run for congress. Keep up the good work! You are a patriot!

  • lol you're the 3rd person this week that said i should run for politics.

  • can you tell me the next video your going to be doing?

you made a topic in this video of something i'd usually say is gay and boring but it was pretty enjoyable.

  • In a couple of days. my little business is hemorrhaging money lol. I have to find out what the problem is. then I'll get back to this.
