@jibjab351: In stock form, I definitely agree that they were more trouble than fun. When I first got mine, many years ago, my first impression of it was that it handled like a canoe! However, with some "suspension attention" and a decent steering damper, it actually wasn't that bad. My bike was very sensitive to carb balance as well. Just a touch out-of-sync would make a huge difference in performance. Would I ride another H2? Oh hell yeah! BTW, this is the best-sounding example I've ever heard!
I always dreamt of an H2 as a 16-18 year old, but never could afford one. I had my first ride on one aged 40, what a piece of shit it was. Rattly, underpowered, shittest handling bike I ever rode. The myth is better than reality, believe me.
Nope just holding it in my left hand . . . . whilst trying to accelerate as hard as possible and change gears without using the clutch and avoiding missing one . . try it sometime . . . if you have the skill that is . . .
@schlusselmensch speed wobble is when the front tire wobbles very violently and throws you off the bike... I have not experienced it yet and hopefully never do...
I thought the early models were geared for 123mph at the red line in top and later ones, H2B's and C's a little higher at 125mph, with original factory fitted sprockets ? Are you sure a top whack of 115 isn't an underestimate ?
This is my 72 H2 750 with Rick Brett onboard giving what looks like a bloody good thrashing after having perrformed a crank rebuild back in 2009? Whaaaaa i still have not redlined the old girl yet however happy days are just around the corner. thanks Rick she runs a treat . kind regards Tim from Romsey Hants
