What an idiot!!! The thermometer goes in the oil. Not the turkey u dumbass. If ur not from the south where that's all we do then don't try this at home. I've had it my whole life and never had so much as a flare up. Idiots. U keep the oil temp between 325-350 the entire time. Never over!!! Season outside and inject with cajun butter overnight. Use only one box of oil which is 3gal. Cook 3mins per lb. Perfect everytime

That will explain why the turkey is burnt, OIL TO HOT... been deep frying turkeys for 12 yrs 1st time this ever happened. You also don't have to be from the south to fry a turkey,got a new thermometer works great.I hate DUMB-ASS people who don't listen to a video and what is being said,( thermometer was in the turkey for looks).Also remember the North beat the south,IDIOT!!!!
