as a boxer i feel luis resto wasn't as guilty as portrayed in the documentary.Being a professional fighter there are so many kinks and terms that you trainers and managers want you to abide by so it wasnt his fault.Since there was so much bet money on this fight Panama tampered the gloves.Resto isn't guilty except the fact he knew that panama tampered the gloves.But as a fighter being fed lies about being a champion and being on top he was bamboozelled from the start panama is a snake.

Obv I'm not a professional fighter by any measure, but I do train and have sparred with beginners to pros—fledgling pros—and I, with that experience, can tell the difference of being punched by 16 vs 14 vs 12 oz gloves... So I really am shocked that Billy Collins couldn't feel that he wasn't simply getting punched by a guy with really heavy hands, but was fighting a guy with compromised gloves and plastered hand wraps...

He knew all along what he had in his 'gloves' plaster among the padding & who knows what else!!!!, and he still went on to fight Billy Collins? I assume you have boxing experience since you 'experiment' with equipment; you have been hit with 10oz gloves before, right? It hurts, and feels quite hard. I'm not sure if they used 8oz gloves in this fight (I assume they did), which are even harder. He never fought Resto before, and in turn did not know what kind of power he was bringing to the table (besides what is indicated in his W:KO ratio (cont)

Fighters absolutely have to protect their health and interests, but they aren't the only ones responsible for this. A trainer (the person workig the corner) has as much as 70% responsibility for keeping you safe. If you are in danger of being seriously hurt, its their JOB to throw in the towel and get you out. Collins' father is more at fault here, for not questioning the blatant damage his son took that day.

I like the announcer: "I know I sound foolish but there isn't much going on even though it looks like they're mixing it up". Granted, he doesn't have hindsight but still, you don't have to be a Navajo Windtalker to hear that Resto punches sound like Rocky Balboa beating the meat compared with Collins wispy little shots. If you ever sit close in a fight you can tell who the harder puncher is 30 seconds in. This night that would be magnified by a factor of ten.
