@Jordyp122 An HP or a Dell. I have the HP you see in the vid its 2003 still work fine just has to be taken care of. Dell is also a good one but dont take my word for it do some research figure out what works best for you =)
@TonyToad22 Shit man, back in '06, I spend a few weeks to research and 'round 3 grand to build my gaming PC, but now, it's obsolete. Would you think it's wise to build one to my specs or just get a HP or Dell like you mentioned?
i have a problem. I have the kworld and whenever i want to record it comes up with a box saying unable to start recording any solutions i have the power director 8
@wilbo45 sorted my problem but now when i plug everything in i get sound in the computer but just a blank screen i use the kworld and power director 8 please help me because i have spent so much money on this
Hello? It's me again (The guy with the Kworld capture card), I have another problem, I fixed everything I thought it was wrong but now, another obstacle appeared. The image on the screen is right, the problem is that there's no sound at all. Again my friend, what's wrong?
@kaoz9000 It could be the audio device settings make sure it is set to your capture card. If that is already set try checking your computers advanced volume controls (i.e. Wave, SW Synth, CD Player, Line In). Capture cards usually use "Line In" try setting that to max. I usually set everything to max except the main volume control.
@TheWhiteRusher I don't know if you can make the preview window bigger or not on Vista or Windows 7. I have Windows XP and on my WMM you I can't make it bigger.
@TonyToad22 well i plug in all the cables (i dont use the splitters) just directly in my videograbber, but i only hear the audio but i dont have anny gameplay just the sound of it. thanks for helping me !
any way anyone could upload rock band/guitar hero tracks somewhere? dazzle is quite expensive. Im looking to play drums to songs but without the drum track and practice mode is perfect!
When I'm recording with my Dazzle, it doesn't lag when recording Guitar Hero or Rock Band. Also, you CAN record on HD, if you have the Dazzle HD Plus, which I have. Just watch my video response. By the way, nice tutorial.

this is probably one of the best tutorials i ever seen, i dont even have to ask questions, everything is well detailed. in video and description, very good job
@John56389 There are other ways but I would't know how to explain them. There are ways to get nice captures with a camcorder but again, I wouldn't know how to explain it. Search around YouTube and the internet your sure to find a way that you'll like best.

@MrGuitarguy99 Yeah you could do that too. Try it out and see if you like it. I tried it but I didn't like it but you should see if it would work for you.
@MrGuitarguy99 I wouldn't know how, I don't have Pinnacle Studio. I know that what I have (Power Director) lets you record voice while recording video and I found that out but playing around with the program to see what it can do. Change the audio capture settings around and run a few test to find out if Pinnacle Studio can record voice and video at the same time.
@MrGuitarguy99 As far as I know WMM can't capture both video and voice over at the same time, but I could be wrong. Maybe the Vista version does but I wouldn't know I don't have Vista.
@TonyToad22 hey tody, i made a vid for youtube using windows movie maker, but fking youtube wount let me post it, could u tell me what to use inorder for me to be able to post it on youtube.
If you rendered the video right, it should be fine just make sure the video is in the YouTube time and size limits.
If that all is ok and your trying to upload it onto YouTube and it keeps failing before it finishes uploading then it may be a YouTube or internet connection problem, I cant help you there, sorry.
how old is your dazzle? i've tried doing the same thing with my dazzle but my computer won't recognize it. do you have a link to an updated driver so the dazzle will work on Windows 7 64 bit?
@ThatLeftyD You might have to do a driver update. I added a link to the driver download. Be careful when looking for the driver for your Dazzle because there is a long list.
@MrGuitarguy99 You can get them at a electronics store (Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc) or you can look them up online Amazon usually has them at cheap prices
@paqotote No, Dazzle DVD Recorder doesnt work with Mac (at least as far as I know). The same company that makes Dazzel actually has a capture card especially for Mac. A link to the web page is in the description.
Thank's man i was already planning on doing exactly this set-up (w/ Dazzle) but since it was so much simpler than everyone else's i feared it wouldn't work. 5/5 Star'd you.
Well everything here is under or def right around $20 except the Dazzle. A good one today cost about $80 but you can find them cheaper used if you're willing to take the risk. Also you really do need a Dazzle people go for cheaper stuff but you need Dazzle like Tony said to get the software.
Dazzle cost me around $30 (USD) its usually $50. KWorld about $50 its usually $70. I found them both cheaper than the usual price because they were on sale. As for the cables, you shouldn't pay more than $20 for all the cables. I actually found and bought cable splitters at a 99 cent store and they worked fine. The rest of my cables I found lying around at home. If you can't find any place that sells cheap go to where you know they sell them and buy the cheapest ones.
When im at the windows movie maker i look up in the capture video section and it doesnt say capture video, it goes strait to import video after all my cord and stuff were conected, please help me!
I have windows & and downloaded windoes movie maker 2.6 which looks almost identicle to the movie maker use used and when i hooked up my easycap capture card it never said clack here to start capturing
I don't use a splitter cable. I have an audio video distribution unit, and it works very good. But, yes, you do need either a A/V Dist. Device. or a splitter cable.
dazzle video creator plus. It's good when you have good render settings and you want to go out and buy s-video cables there not expensive and make the quality look almost HD
what if i have vista? windows movie maker doesn't recognize my dazzle but my computer does. and when i use the pinnacle instant dvd recorder instead it lags like crazy but my computer has great memory. is there any other recording programs or is there a way to fix the movie maker so it recognizes my dazzle?
a question about the Composite / RCA Splitter Cable 2M/1F link you have posted from amazon. the colors on the male side are white and red. that doesn't mean anything right? they'll work fine even if i plugged the yellow into the splitter right? sorry if the question is dumb, i just wanna be sure
No, it doesn't really matter. They'll work fine even if the yellow is plugged into the splitter thats red or white. The colors are just so used as guides to get the signals right. That's a good question actually don't be so hard on yourself. ;)
For making rock band videos. do you prefer splitters shown on the first half of the video or splitters shown in the diagram you put as a download. isnt it true that too many splitters can create a lag or something? sorry for the questions i just want to make sure i did it the right way.
Both the video and the diagram will work fine. I don't know if too many will cause lag but what I do know is that not enough (the way shown in the second half of the video) can cause lag, its happened to me.
I answered your question anyway, just in case anyone else had the same question.
Because my computer is kinda slow i record using MPEG2 @ 30FPS and a resolution of 480. and a bit-rate of 8000kbps also i put the speed/quality at its best
When rendering i use MPEG4 (AVC) @ 30FPS at a resolution of 720 and a bit-rate of 10,000kbps also i put the speed/quality at its best
If you have a fast computer you might want to try recording or rendering at higher bit-rates and/or resolutions
1. Cable splitters and Extensions shouldn't cost more than $20 all together. Cable splitters can range from $0.50 to $2.50. Cable extension should be between $3.50 to $10.
2. Yes it should work all I did there was get creative and used on splitter so I don't have to buy extras. However, if your looking to record games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero this can be a bad idea because your computer can lag and result in undesired gameplay and bad videos.
No, the game won't lag but if you have an old computer like i do the sound might be a little bit off. This is the lag in talking about, Sound Lag thats why its a bad idea to record Rock Band this way.
ok i got the dazzle working and the problem was was i had to download a special driver for Vista anyway the windows movie maker thing u let me download didnt have capture from video divice under capture video
I have Windows XP, not Vista so i dont know what the vista version of Windows Movie Maker looks like. But i have looked at a few videos of the Vista version.
Under "import" there is "from video camera" click that and you should be able to capture from there.
If you dont want to use Windows Movie Maker you could get another program.
I recommend CyberLink Power Director but you could also try Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Pinnacle Studio. Those are some of the more popular video editing programs.
plzzzz help me i just spent freaken 60 bucks on cords and its all hooked up and everything and then after it says the device is not responding close any application that is using the divice and try capturing again
and then when i push ok it says the video device cannot be used at this time because there has been an error when starting tis device
plzzz help me i dont want this money to go to waste
If you have Mac, unfortunately Dazzle doesn't work with Mac. The company that makes Dazzle does make a capture device for Mac but its way more expensive. (about $100 USD)
If you use Windows what version do you have?
If you have Vista and it's the 64bit version you might have to download the driver software for it.
If you have Windows XP try installing the software again.
I have had trouble finding the A/V Splitters. I have found the audio splitter at Best Buy. I asked the guy if knew if they had video splitters and he said he never heard of them before. please help me out
Those audio splitters that you found at Best Buy should also work with video. The yellow, red and white cables are just color coded so we can get the right signals to where they should go (video signal to video input and audio signals to audio inputs).
You didn't by any chance happen to get Dynex® - RCA Y-Adapter did you?
If you did one of the Product Features says...
"[It] Sends audio or video signals through RCA jacks"
As long as you get the signals right it should work. Hope this helps.
It shouldn't cost so much just for the cables combined. The most expensive thing is probably just Dazzle and it shouldn't cost over £60 if your going to get Dazzle and cables.
will it work filming nazi zombies?? how do u break up the vids quickly?? can u do it automatically??????????????????? how much is it in £££ brittish money??
To "break up" simply trim them using a video editor like Windows Movie Maker. When you add your video to the timeline click the ends of the video and arrows should appear, click and drag that to make you video shorter. If you want save the hassle of doing it yourself ("... do it automatically") use an advanced video editor like what I use, CyberLink PowerDirector.
I'm not sure exactly how much Dazzle cost in pounds but it should think its about £30.
If you want something cheap you just want to get Dazzle ($50)+three cable splitters (no more than $10 for all three)+three extension cables (about $5)+to edit videos Windows Movie Maker (Free, comes in any Windows Computer) = It rounds to about $65. It can be less if you find something cheaper.
IF you want a better editing program you could try CyberLink PowerDirector ($70 to buy; free to try) and see if you like it or you could always look up a different program.
Video editors like Cyberlink PowerDirector (what is use), Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere or Pinnacle Studio; those are some of the more popular editors. I've accidentally discovered that Power Director 8 (the most recent version) can record both game and voice with out having to get anything more than a microphone; you don't even have to run extra software. PowerDirector will actually combine your game and voice audio as soon as you stop recording your game.
The Pink Audio Jack (input for the microphone) is behind your computer, sometime in front. TVs don't usually have microphone inputs. With newer computers the microphone jacks are color coded pink. With older computers they are often not, so if you have a older computer and don't see a pink microphone jack on your computer, either your computer doesn't have it or its not colored and you'll have to see if it has it.
Quick question: Is there a way to record your voice as you are recording a game? Like with a microphone or something? I don't see where exactly the mic would go in this situation. An answer would be much appreciated. =)
Regular mic usually go in a pink audio jack the is next to a blue and green one. Other times a USB mic would also do. However the problem is getting your computer to record from two audio sources, the game and mic. Window Movie Maker cant record from both but more advanced editors often can. Another way is to record using a separate device at the same time you record games. Camcorder soften have audio recording functions. You can do that just make sure that you can pass it on to your computer.
if you want to capture video gameplay you can use AVerMedia Game Capture HD. This unit does not need to be connected to a PC and will capture gameplay directly to a USB external HDD. The will be no lag while record and the best thing is that it can record 1080i gameplay.

Make sure...
- everything is connected correctly
- that your computer has USB 2.0. If your computer has USB 1.0 your computer may lag when recording or not recognize the device
- you install the KWorld software driver into your computer
... if the problem continues it may be a problem with Power Director.

@ThatLeftyD You might have to do a driver update. I added a link to the driver download. Be careful when looking for the driver for your Dazzle because there is a long list.

hey where can i get the AV cable extensions
MrGuitarguy99 1 year ago
@MrGuitarguy99 You can get them at a electronics store (Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc) or you can look them up online Amazon usually has them at cheap prices
TonyToad22 1 year ago
Hey the software that came on the dazzle dvd recorder can be used on a mac
paqotote 1 year ago
@paqotote No, Dazzle DVD Recorder doesnt work with Mac (at least as far as I know). The same company that makes Dazzel actually has a capture card especially for Mac. A link to the web page is in the description.

thnxs man. i am so going to get this
MrGuitarguy99 1 year ago
Thank's man i was already planning on doing exactly this set-up (w/ Dazzle) but since it was so much simpler than everyone else's i feared it wouldn't work. 5/5 Star'd you.

how much does this all cost if its over 20 bucks i cant get it until maybe 3 months
gamerfreak48 1 year ago
Unfortunately this may all add up to be more than $20(USD). You can try to find them for a cheaper price online or you can always wait.
TonyToad22 1 year ago
Well everything here is under or def right around $20 except the Dazzle. A good one today cost about $80 but you can find them cheaper used if you're willing to take the risk. Also you really do need a Dazzle people go for cheaper stuff but you need Dazzle like Tony said to get the software.

GodofCoD555 1 year ago
hey man how much di you pay for the dazzle and for the kworld movie maker and how much were those cables that you used
terminadork2009 1 year ago
Dazzle cost me around $30 (USD) its usually $50. KWorld about $50 its usually $70. I found them both cheaper than the usual price because they were on sale. As for the cables, you shouldn't pay more than $20 for all the cables. I actually found and bought cable splitters at a 99 cent store and they worked fine. The rest of my cables I found lying around at home. If you can't find any place that sells cheap go to where you know they sell them and buy the cheapest ones.

Do you NEED to use the splitter cables? I was just wondering cause i already have a dazzle but i didnt know how to make these videos!
Magnesiur 2 years ago
Also can you edit the pics and merge them with windows movie maker and paint?
Magnesiur 2 years ago
I don't use a splitter cable. I have an audio video distribution unit, and it works very good. But, yes, you do need either a A/V Dist. Device. or a splitter cable.

a question about the Composite / RCA Splitter Cable 2M/1F link you have posted from amazon. the colors on the male side are white and red. that doesn't mean anything right? they'll work fine even if i plugged the yellow into the splitter right? sorry if the question is dumb, i just wanna be sure
natters1029 2 years ago
No, it doesn't really matter. They'll work fine even if the yellow is plugged into the splitter thats red or white. The colors are just so used as guides to get the signals right. That's a good question actually don't be so hard on yourself. ;)
TonyToad22 2 years ago
For making rock band videos. do you prefer splitters shown on the first half of the video or splitters shown in the diagram you put as a download. isnt it true that too many splitters can create a lag or something? sorry for the questions i just want to make sure i did it the right way.
natters1029 2 years ago
nvm, i'll just do the way shown on the video
natters1029 2 years ago

Great vid, I went with the Kworld recorder before I even saw your vid, but it's nice to know that I chose the right one. Well done.

1. How much is a cable splitter and how much is an AV extension?
2. Can I use Dazzle with just the one cable splitter like you did with KWorld?
Dunnybrusher 2 years ago
TonyToad22 2 years ago
Thanks! Do videos cause more lag if you are recording a game like Gran Turismo 4?
Dunnybrusher 2 years ago
No, the game won't lag but if you have an old computer like i do the sound might be a little bit off. This is the lag in talking about, Sound Lag thats why its a bad idea to record Rock Band this way.
TonyToad22 2 years ago
Thanks man.
Dunnybrusher 2 years ago
ok i got the dazzle working and the problem was was i had to download a special driver for Vista anyway the windows movie maker thing u let me download didnt have capture from video divice under capture video
walbytamer11 2 years ago
I have Windows XP, not Vista so i dont know what the vista version of Windows Movie Maker looks like. But i have looked at a few videos of the Vista version.
Under "import" there is "from video camera" click that and you should be able to capture from there.
TonyToad22 2 years ago
thanks a lot but which program shood i use o record game demos on my PC?
DELTA22ful 2 years ago
If you dont want to use Windows Movie Maker you could get another program.
I recommend CyberLink Power Director but you could also try Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Pinnacle Studio. Those are some of the more popular video editing programs.
TonyToad22 2 years ago
Debe trabajar con Vista 32-bit pero si no funcióna deberias bajar el programa.
Si lo necita digame y le envio el link.
TonyToad22 2 years ago
plzzzz help me i just spent freaken 60 bucks on cords and its all hooked up and everything and then after it says the device is not responding close any application that is using the divice and try capturing again
and then when i push ok it says the video device cannot be used at this time because there has been an error when starting tis device
plzzz help me i dont want this money to go to waste
Firenite815 2 years ago
Do you use Windows or Mac??
If you have Mac, unfortunately Dazzle doesn't work with Mac. The company that makes Dazzle does make a capture device for Mac but its way more expensive. (about $100 USD)
If you use Windows what version do you have?
If you have Vista and it's the 64bit version you might have to download the driver software for it.
If you have Windows XP try installing the software again.

I have had trouble finding the A/V Splitters. I have found the audio splitter at Best Buy. I asked the guy if knew if they had video splitters and he said he never heard of them before. please help me out
12brady2moss81 2 years ago
Those audio splitters that you found at Best Buy should also work with video. The yellow, red and white cables are just color coded so we can get the right signals to where they should go (video signal to video input and audio signals to audio inputs).
You didn't by any chance happen to get Dynex® - RCA Y-Adapter did you?
If you did one of the Product Features says...
"[It] Sends audio or video signals through RCA jacks"
As long as you get the signals right it should work. Hope this helps.
TonyToad22 2 years ago
Thanks so much!!! And yes the Dynex was the one I saw, so this should work perectly thanks!
12brady2moss81 2 years ago
is it true that dazzle does not work in the UK unless u spend like £200 on cables
gavinc12 2 years ago
It shouldn't cost so much just for the cables combined. The most expensive thing is probably just Dazzle and it shouldn't cost over £60 if your going to get Dazzle and cables.

will it work filming nazi zombies?? how do u break up the vids quickly?? can u do it automatically??????????????????? how much is it in £££ brittish money??
aaronml96 2 years ago
Yes it will work filming Nazi Zombies! ;)
TonyToad22 2 years ago
In total how much will it cost in US currency.
Mariofan800 2 years ago
Its depends....
TonyToad22 2 years ago
I have Sony vegas pro 8....so thats put of it.. but so about 65... hmmm gotta go get some money.
Mariofan800 2 years ago

RebornComa 2 years ago
Regular mic usually go in a pink audio jack the is next to a blue and green one. Other times a USB mic would also do. However the problem is getting your computer to record from two audio sources, the game and mic. Window Movie Maker cant record from both but more advanced editors often can. Another way is to record using a separate device at the same time you record games. Camcorder soften have audio recording functions. You can do that just make sure that you can pass it on to your computer.
TonyToad22 2 years ago
I recorded it with Dazzle with WMM and the video is a little bit darker. How come its darker? Watch my video on how I hooked up. Thanks
