Ha, the screen on this laptop is easy to break mine is broken but still works fine I hooked a monitor to it. but I was installing updates to the computer, and now its showing a black screen with a blinking underscore in the top left. Yeah I tried using a recovery disc the disc's name is Windows Me which I think is a outdated os for the laptop I need a Windows Vista recovery disc but I cannot find any and a recovery disc did not come with it. Anyone can help me find a recovery disc for it?

@wetowels, for me, my laptop gets extremely hot and is almost a fire hazard.
The AC adapter is just shitty the plugin is plastic so it will get so hot and melt the tip rendering it not usable this computer gets really hot when in use dont buy this computer if your getting a new computer save yourself the pain and get a more powerful/expensive one. The most annoying thing is when the plugin is pulled out accidentally is there is a loud beeping noise to alert you that it happened trust me this computer is shitty
I forgot to mention: the Belkin one (with one fan + good airflow) is actually not good for a gaming laptop because it doesn't have a strong stand. For gaming, you need to look for a strong-built cooling pad. (I assumed that you don't like having your laptop rocking back and forth when you play games)

It releases great heat so it's a good idea to get a cooling pad if you play games a lot.
At the moment, they have the NV5389u with 500GB hdd and ATI HD4200 (which is twice as strong at the 3200), same price. Now, for about $500 you can get a great laptop, for gaming too.

I have this laptop, and its really great. Runs well, nice big screen(if you like big screens), plays games really well, gotta adjust the settings on them a bit first, but meh.

Just got this baby today, for $540 with windows 7 it has fantastic power for its price. Its also fairly light compared to my former laptop.
Tip for future laptop buyers: AVOID TOSHIBA IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!!! That was my first laptop before this one and it was plauged with overheating and hardware and software issues. Good brands are Gateway and HP (Apple if your willing to pay out 2 grand for a laptop) Sony is up for debate depending on model.

@Andr3wHa First of all, this isn't a great computer for gaming. It will run most games (although brand new ones really won't work), but if you're playing older games (more than two years old or so) it does okay. And yes, the fan does get a bit loud when playing a game but it's not all that bad (especially if you're wearing headphones or have the speakers turned up).
Well you can get faster computers at that price, but all of the features, and the best service makes it a computer that is hard to beat. The only issue people have is the price.
It's not be the best on the market, But for the money You cant go wrong. I have a video of me modding mine because I noticed very warm temps. I will be attempting to overclock it soon.

I use Pinnacle Studio 14 and I do notice that its temps sky rocket durring processing I use my dremmel on the bottom, Lol, and used artic silver 5 and my temps have dropped I'll be posting a new video to show what else I did to lower temps
This is a fantastic laptop. I don't many super high graphic games, but the games I do have run fantastic. The speakers are great for a laptop, and the stats are amazing for the price. If you are looking for a great affordable laptop, this is perfect for you. And it comes with windows seven :)

Oh yeah I agree. But it wasn't a big deal, it came with a code to redeem a free version of Windows 7 and I got it about a month later. Not to mention the version that came with Windows 7 now costs $30 more than I paid haha.

why didnt you just get the upgrade through gateway? Best Buy does try to rip you off, seriously, they have VERY good prices on the computer itself, but they tried to tell me that i need to pay them 50 bucks to get their programs removed, i called bullshit, went home, and took ownership of the files in safe mode, easy as that, then you jkust uninstall the programs and delete the stuff you dont need. Lesson, just buy the hardware at gateway and do the rest yourself,. Theyre fucking rip off artists
bought this yesterday so far so good i did have a problem installing webroot antivirus but that was because of the windows 7 OS glitch. Also with this computer just be aware that the battery life is not so good (3 hours) if i can by a better battery i will.

Just fyi, most the "trial-and-error" took place during the beta release. When I was using the beta, is was pretty buggy. But I've been using the Release Candidate since it came out, and have had absolutely no problems. I'm pretty sure the official release version will be okay. Besides, its software, not hardware, so if there are problems, updates usually take care of them.
Not really. Some minor stuff (like it gets dirty very easily and comes with a decent amount of crapware) but it looks really nice and upscale and it's got some decent power. I'll be doing a full review soon if that helps you.

@DannyNita2441 Most cooling pads would work. You may want to get a cooling pad with more rubber surface so that it can hold your laptop on better.
I have a Belkin cooling pad (which has a curve in the middle for better air flow) and it works well.
