several of the christians have forgotten that we have to love each other without any hope of recognition or retribution. it's crucial that we pray for a better world, working together. we are christians and cannot censure our brothers. i would like that every religion, science and doctrine was more polite while analyzing different ideas. before all, we must respect any people, because we are all equals.
@DeathNest94 the utter principle of the religions that conducts us to god and to the spirituality is the altruism, abnegation, charity, respect, moral elevation and preservation. fortunately, we are not living in the fascism or the pre christian era. we have to do what jesus christ (in the case of christianism) says and lived, and ever good christian knows what i mean.
@DeathNest94 please be peaceful, let's respect the women, the black people, the latin americans, the other beliefs and rites, the gays and all of the beings around the world. allow us the right of living in peace and harmony, even if some be wrong under the judgement of a few. i hope that we progress!
One supposes that she will join Schori in throwing people out of their churches and priests and their families out of their homes if they have the guts to disagree with her.
I'm not surprised that people will use this as an arena to condemn Mary with hate and homophobia. I'm also not surprised at how people will use the bible as a tool for this condemnation. If they really understood the bible what it says about homosexuality and same gender sexuality is wrong and out of context. The best message we should look at is Jesus' answers by saying love God with all your heart and soul and love each other in the same way. Congratulations Mary. You are an inspiration.
@Paddy2Noble This is God's Word, so it's not being used as a tool, but what needs to be used in the Church. It directly says in the Bible on numerous occasions that homosexuality is sinful, and some places felt the consequences (Sodom and Gomorrah). However, Christ died once and for ALL, not just the "holy rollers." Everyone has a chance at redemption thru the redeeming love of Christ Jesus, and in that we rejoice! No matter what you've done, if you believe and ask, Christ will take u in!
@Hitchy1094 I won't go into a debate about what the bible says, I don't believe it is God's word, it is inspired by people of faith. I don't think God will condemn homosexuality and put them to death this is definitely an interpretation of men. Because it also says in the bible that we should stone people to death who commit adultery. A literal interpretation of the bible is very dangerous. Gay, lesbian and bisexual and transgender people are more God centered people who judge others.
@Paddy2Noble So if Christ himself quoted Scripture on numerous occasions, claimed it was God's Word and in fact was called the Word in the flesh (I John), how do you believe it is just an interpretation of man? The wages of ALL sin is death, Romans 6:23 A. Whether it's homosexuality, adultery, lying, it's all the same in God's eyes, and he cannot accept anything that is not perfect or is sinful. We deserve death for all sinful action, but if we repent and accept Christ, we're given eternal life!
@Hitchy its interesting that we don't really know each other, but we have made our minds up about each other just from a few comments we make on youtube. I know my bible very well and I totally understand and have faith in God. Having a literal interpretation is dangerous and thats why much of Christianity struggles with itself. Jesus was very concerned about law and the way people used it over other people. Jesus himself was very accepting and blessed GLBT people.
@Paddy2Noble I'm not making any judgements at all. In fact, I'm glad that there is something like Youtube where brothers and sisters in Christ can talk about this. You are correct in the fact that Christ accepts all people, however, in both Old and New Testaments, it outrightly says that homosexuality is sinful. Period. Black and white, there is no interpretation. However, that does not means the Church or Christians hate them. We are all sinners, and we love them like Christ loved us.
@Hitchy1094 And why is it so hard for people to understand what you wrote? I pray that sinners have long lives so that there is time to repent. In Islam, homosexuals are frequently executed with no regard for allowing them the time to repent. I don't want them to go to hell!
I went to college with Mary Glasspool. She was the Resident Assistant on the womens floor below mine and we sang in the chapel choir together. She was always a decent, kind and spiritual person who, even with her father not supporting women in the priesthood, seemed always committed to serving as a minister. She is of high integrity and commitment, and I am proud to have known her at that time.
@CSSailor1863 Whoaaaa hold up there. Christ forgave ALL of sins. He does not hate homosexuals, He loves them. And all are given a chance to repent, it doesn't matter what you've done. However, homosexuality is clearly sinful in the Bible.
@Hitchy1094 Christ will forgive all sins for which forgiveness is asked for. These Heretics do not recognize their actions as sin and cannot therefore ask forgiveness for them.
Congratulations to ASSISTANT-BISHOP MARY GLASSPOOL and the liberal Episcopal Church for their progressive, embracing and inclusive ordination.
There is a lot of fear, poverty and hatreds in our lives, and this promotion and of Rev Canon Diane Jardine Bruce are healing for the marginalised and disenfranchised.
The liberal Episcopal Church has increasing relevance in our changing world.
As the Scripture says, "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us . . ." How can these people dress up and dance around the altar and truly believe everything is OK?
Congratulations Bishop elect Glasspool, and may God fill you with his Holy Spirit as you embark in this new phase of your ministry. For those of you who disapprove or disagree with the election of Bishop Glasspool, or with the actions of the Episcopal Church... "judge not, yet ye be judged". My mother always said, "if you have nothing nice to say, dont say anything at all".
they are sadly decieved and decieving others. The Catholics and Episcopals, etc are like the Pharisees of Jesus' day. They "think" they know God and proclaim all his Word, but they are far from the Lord himself. They think they know love, but only Jesus is love. Jesus is holy and Jesus will judge. We are in the times of deception by Satan. Read the whole bible. Anything apart from it is feelings and not truth. God is truth and love. We are not here to serve the church, but serve Christ.
When the Episcopal Church began ordaining homosexuals and marrying homosexuals, they gave themselves over to Satan without pretense. If you are a christian, flee from this evil organization. You are disgracing Jesus Christ by sanctioning this abomination with your presence. Since God has no intention of apologizing to Sodom and Gomorrah, you can be absolutely certain that He will judge the Episcopal Church in due time.
