Along the motorways in England there are lots of rest stops which are often just large car parks with different restaurants (which are mainly fast food restaurants like KFC or McDonalds), there is also always a large vehicle car park with toilets.

While nowhere near elaborate, there are plenty of nice ones in Texas (and seen a few even nicer in California). They are usually well landscaped at least, many with a few covered picnic tables, vending machines, etc.

I even went to one near Amarillo that was a very large nice building with wireless internet access.
