  • Beautiful song by a truly beautiful man.

  • This is the best song for a broken heart that wants to remain open. Thank you, Waylon, for a such a healing and beautiful melody. Miss you.

  • You will always be remembered and loved (WAYLON JENNINGS)

    Rest in Peace

    *****stars and thumbs up

  • Excellent !

  • Thank God we have Jamey to fill some of the gaps in country music, since a lot of great singers have past on...

  • @peter100974 Jamey is the best !

  • This is a great song, the 2 dislikes must be tone deaf!!!

  • The God of country music rides again... Love you, Hoss

  • A beautiful song sung by one of the greatest country singers of all times. Always considered a rebel but really a trail blazer! RIP Waylon

  • MY favourite of all Waylons songs.....miss you Waylon, hope you got it all while you were here........you´ll be missed by many many people, RIP HOSS

  • truly a perfect song!

  • i like it

  • Is this the greatest perfect country singer and perfect country song there ever was? Yes,...especially when I've had the perfect number of beers. Waylon, RIP. Thanks for posting this wonderful live performance.

  • Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss did very good covers of this song, but no one will ever do it better than Ol' Hoss himself. Country music needs a new Waylon to drown out the pop flavored crap coming out today.

  • listen to jamey johnsons version he is very good

  • Waylon's music touched the heart and soul of every man, wild and free with a depth of reality in life, love, laughter. He was and will always be the epitome of the music in the man!

  • Is this his song or Mrainne Faithfull's

  • Is this his number or from Marianne Faithfull

  • @svdleij It's Waylons number

  • @svdleij It's Waylons number!!!

  • Waylon *$&#* Jennings.

The only singer I've heard my entire life that never strayed off key.

    Not even once.

  • the way it is in my mind

  • The best in Country Music 100 years from. Even a 1000 years from now. Even 5000 years from now. Even after the Apocalypse and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

  • Forgive me people. i cant keep from breaking in tears listening to this video now. Melts this big man's heart.

  • ~~~ still in love with Waylon !!!

  • rips my guts out! RIP Waylon!

  • well its been 4hrs and i guess you are gone

  • Soul absolutely soul. There are no words ever worthy to put down posted on this video.

  • waylon is a true maverick. i was lucky enough to have been hearing his music ever since i was born as my mother listened to it constantly, like every day, while driving and then more at home - literally, almost every single day until the late 80's. rip w's.

  • Love them Outlaws........Waylon,Willie,Kristofferson,,,,,,,,Cash.....:)

  • P e r f e c t i o n .

  • still amazing jamey johnson is the new waylon watch and see rip king waylon

  • the best

  • bedankt voor het plaatsen dimesos. I am a great Waylon fan.

  • Having known Waylon personally it was a real pleasure when he chose one of my pictures for his "Dreaming My Dreams" album cover. This album was also his favorite that he recorded. Waylon was the real deal and is the greatest singer of all time.

  • Every time he sang, it was as if he were singing it for the first time...want an example of "soul"?...it's Waylon!

  • I listen to waylon, hank jr., merle, coe and I wonder what Nashville is thinking with this pop country garbage of today ( keith urban, darius rucker ). There are some positives coming out of Nashville today ( Jamey Johnson, Toby keith ) but they are few and far between. The majority of todays "country" musicians dont seem to have the heart felt music that the older, true country musicians have.

  • @21PRAVDA If you don't like it, don't pay attention to it. Don't let CMT and cuntry radio determine what you listen to. There's internet radio, satellite radio.

The only thing I know about what's being promoted on CMT and radio is that its not meant for me. I'm a 30 year old singleman. Modern cuntry is easy listening for 40 year old married women who drive minivans. Somehow record companies decided that this is the best way to make money. So I find what I need somewhere else.

  • @tomjg80 AMEN!!! enough said.....

  • for you blaine, a classic

  • god damn perfect.

  • What this world needs is another Waylon...Impossible to fill his shoes. Such a beautiful country song.

  • @sweetdixieguitar Your right, country music has lost its way, no more songwriters like Kris, Mickey Newbury, Johnny, Waylon, Willy. I could go on forever but i think you know what i mean. Oliver

  • Wow

  • any one know the chords for this song???

  • @pvmartin10 e b a

  • @rubbersole79

    thank you so much cheers

  • @pvmartin10 Hi! Saw your quesion here. I just found the chords via Google. Just write the song title and "chords", then look for the Alison Krauss version.

  • @marmiemuchacha

Hi thanks for your help but the EBand A cords doesnt sound right has he dropped tune the guitar i dont know how to do this cheere Pvmartin

  • @pvmartin10 ....E,B, & A are correct. In the final refrain of the song he starts it in E, then B, F#, and ends on B, essentially modulating the final refrain.

  • @rubbersole79 Thank you so much i will try this again

    pvmartin10

  • in my eyes thats the only recording.....

  • Youza wouza. That is the best recording of that song I have EVER heard. What a song and what a voice. Ol Waylon has shoes that will never be filled. Thanks for posting!

  • waylon was always good singer

  • I adore this song,God it's beautiful...

Dreaming My Dreams, Can't hear it enough.Fits my life at the moment.

    Never be another Waylon .....

    Maggster

  • Cowboy Jack Clement produced this album for Waylon in 74' Waylon said in his autobiography that this was his favorite song,

  • Gone but never forgotten.

Thank you God for Waylon and his music.

  • Great song. Hits to the core at this time in my life. This and Charlie Chaplin's "Smile" are 2 classics that hit a soft spot with everyone.

  • I couldn't say it better myself ShortStackB5! I've always loved to listen to him sing this song!!! *****

  • Love this song so much!!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • This is exactly why Waylon will always be the best country music ever had. He could go from his big upbeat numbers and really rock it out and then go to this. It all came from the heart and the music meant everything. Thank goodness country music will always have Waylon, cos we sure as hell ain't got a whole lot out there right now.

    Gone, but never forgotten.

    RIP Waylon

  • My sentiments exactly! There is no one today...that even comes close to his talent, voice, song writing, and emotions.

Don't think we realized at the time...just how really great he was! I miss him too!

  • I miss waylon but if you want to hear an artist that was truly influenced by him you need to invest in Jamey Johnson.

  • @ShortStackB5, Amen to that............

  • @ShortStackB5 I could not have said it better myself. Simply the Greatest singer ever from any genre

  • yeah, I know you got it right. I was referring to the original comment...and I did cuss...I often do...

anyway, both killer songs and classics. Enjoy...

  • haha, yeah, and it's "a wreath upon his DOOR"...someone needs to clean the shit outta their ears...

  • Beautiful, thanks for this!

  • Just love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rip Waylon.

  • like the song he stopped loving her today . ..... when they placed a reef upon his grave ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, sad

  • I get goosebumps every time I hear Waylon sing this song. Just fuckin' beautiful tune.

  • He was the man!

  • God Bless Waylon

  • Norge.han er best......

  • Just so Beautiful......

  • Lov it......

  • his great voice, this great live version, absolut genial.

  • i love it

  • Jamey Johnson does a great version of this song. Pours his heart into it as if he lived it like Waylon. I have a DVD of Waylon where he talks about Dreaming My Dreams of You as one of his all time favorite songs. He figured out that there was no point in being bitter about divorces--the person is always part of your life. It is just that the relationship changed along with the sleeping arrangments.

  • this is why jamey recorded it im sure

  • His best song, Alison Krauss did a great version but it's Waylon's song

  • BRAIDERMAN ___ no one has ever done a waylon song better than waylon. hell he took others songs and made em better. good try tho hoss. lol

  • I agree 100%. Waylon is the Best!!

  • This live version is even better than the recorded version. Waylon was an awesome talent.

  • I had better own up to joking with you Waylon fans - Sorry. I just like being bad sometimes !

Actually this song is so beautiful that Waylon takes full credit for writing it. It's one of the best. It doesn't really matter who sings it - its always good.

I'm not a flag waver either for any country - only for good music.

  • I can say Colleen Hewitt does a fine job, but Waylon is the man!!! Maybe if they could have done a duet like Waylon and his wife Jessi Colter on "Storms Never Last" it would have been interesting. It's not only the song, but Waylon's history is part of a what makes a legend. His Beard, Black Hat, Black Vest and Guitar was part of being a Star!!! Just like he sang in Nobody Knows I'm Elvis!!!

  • Wow.

  • this is Waylon's best song ever, it's alot like Hank Williams, Jr's Paying On Time, same melody, different lyrics.

  • Are you kidding me? Aussies have to rip off our music because they don't have any of their own. Name one genre of music that was invented in Australia. You can play the songs but you don't have the history and culture to give them soul. Music is much more than diction and timing.

  • I agree it dont get any better than Waylon.

  • sorry but i dont think coleen can hold a candle to this man......it just dont get better then waylon sorry

  • This song is it ! He was and will always be the man !!!

  • I'm watching this for about the 100th time.

This my friends, is music with SOUL.

  • Waylon... had it ALL.

  • simply beautiful...thank you

  • One of waylons very best, and one of my favorits

  • Beautiful.

  • Wow!

  • Has any one heard Jamey Johnson's version of this on his new CD "That Lonesome Song"? It is an awesome version and an awesome CD. I have not heard of a recent country music singer sound so simular and great as Waylon.

  • I actually went out and bought Jamey's CD the other day - i really love it. reminds me of the way country music was back in the day. as for his version of this song - I think ol' waylon would love it!

  • Thanks for reposting it.

  • Why is the video no longer available..damn one of my favorites by Waylon too.

  • This is so beautiful. It is better than any studio version i have ever heard. There will never be another like Waylon Jennings!

  • where can i find this tape.. my dad has been looking for it forever

  • I'll sign that one. ;-)

  • I would like to say this is my favourite, but everything Waylon did is my favourite, thank you for this

  • What a legend. The best singing voice of all time. Rest in peace Hoss, we'll never forget you.

  • Majesty.

  • What a legend.

He really makes you feel the song.

  • Interesting - it's as quiet in the background as a studio recording - not a sound from the audience. What a great entertainer - he held the audience in the palm of his hand.

  • Hi,

    Thanks so much for posting.

I saw Waylon at this show in London - it was so packed there was standing room only! He was brilliant and I seem to remember he sang this song quite late in the performance. Everyone that stayed behind to try and catch a glimpse of him leaving the Hammersmith Apollo was humming this song on the way home!

  • Excellent selection...that voice; that sound! No body will ever fill his shoes!

Check my Waylon upload when you have a chance! Thanks for your post!

  • amen!

  • So beautiful...Both the man and his music.

  • Studio strings in the background is why he left Nashville and returned to Texas 34 yrs ago.

His 1975 album DREAMIN'MY DREAMS was IMHO the best he ever did, raw, hard country, straight from the heart. Good beer drinkin' honky tonk.

  • Waylon fought against Nashville but he wasn't stubborn,he was very intelligent. He disliked the nashville sweet arrangements but he didn't dislike the strings:The Dreaming My Dreams album has two tracks with string:the title track and Gipsy Woman. He even recorded I'm a Ramblin' Man without the Waylors but with Nashville pickers because he felt that the song just needed that.He did that in 1974 at the peack of his outlaw rebellion. He did everything for music's sake, even some idiosyncratic move.

  • One of the simplest and most beautiful songs ever written... and performed by a musical genius...

  • Perfect.

  • One of the most beautiful real songs ever.

  • Well that just knocked my socks off. WOW!

  • How did he die???

  • Thanks! Could not catch what he said.

  • What a sweet sad song! He is so sincere, it makes me want to cry. What does he say at the very beginning??

  • Unlike many of the newer artists, Waylon Jennings had his own style and uniqueness. Truly a legend and unfortunately was never recognized by the country music association as such. A great talent, a great musician,

    we miss you Waylon!

  • I had tears running down my face when I first saw this. This was one of Waylon's favourite songs and it sure tells, he sings it with such feeling.

  • So Beautiful

  • Oh God Waylon why did you have to leave us.

  • Wow! This is the first time I've seen Waylon singing this song. This has always been one of my favorites. Excellent!

  • WOW

  • celtic my ass !
