I have an 04 gto and my co worker has a 99 GP GTP. His had probably 240 HP where my goat had 400 HP after my mods but that FWD forsure helped him get off the line a little quicker.

im a first time car and gtp owner i have a 1997 i replaced all the seals in the engine and fixed the rust in the back struts... i now have an engine misfire and a supercharger with the bearings going out i know i need a new coil wires spark plugs and fuel filter, and a supercharger i love this car way to much to sell it so i was wondering what brands etc to get, please let me know soon thanks

That gtp must have had some terrible kr, A terrible tune, or terrible driver. Most gtps with a 3.25 setup are running high 12s low 13s and should have kept up with gto alot better.

Even if u do the tranny work u still need headers, complete exhaust, an intercooler, and the tune to even get it in the 12s. The smalles pulley won't do it by itself.

Plus the smaller the pulley, the smaller the snout you need.

first, there is ONE gtp that ran 8.6. i am well aware of what zzp and intense have done with their cars...i have owned a gtp for years and follow the community. problem here is that you are comparing a nearly 15 year old platform to a 5 year old platform. the w-body has been around for a long time and it makes sense that there has been more development for it. there are multiple new-age goats that are knocking on the door of 8s after 5 years, compared to only 2 gtps that have ever in 15 years.

For starters, 3.8 grand prixs were introduced in 1997 not 1995 so no, they have not been around for 15 years. Secondly, zzp broke into the mid 8's over a years ago. intense has been running 9's since 2005. The platform was only 8 years old then.

Very true, also people have to remember that a stock LS2 GTO 6 Speed runs 108 mph in the 1/4 mile. When the GP GTP was stock it ran 92 mph. So it would have to be modded enough to make up that 16 mph in the 1/4 mile... That's a huge difference & a hell of alot of mods just to break even. It can be done though. This was a great video!
