  • too bad the guitar riff

    didn't extend another

    4:58, just saying

  • This is such a great old album with a nice rock and jazzy tone. Thanks for the upload.

  • Their albums are hard to get if you don't have a credit card to order it on line. I still look in record stores.(Whats that grandad?) I used to have this album in the 70's. It's so soothing. Like a cross between a mellower Supertramp mixed with Little River Band. I was into hard rock then but this drifting harmless melody soft rock just transports me. I don't care if my wife or friends don't like it, I love it. I got 'No Second chance' a few years back and have been looking for others since.

  • @soundvisionary13 I'm late responding, but the only albums (CDs) by Charlie I have are Fantasy Girls, a mix of Fight Dirty and Good Morning America and a greatest hits album. I believe the latter two I bought in a mail in CD ordering thing like Columbia...something or other, I forget what it was called.

  • @bddbjrsexy Fantasy Girls I never could find until I went to a little city in Kansas called Salina. I bought it in The House of Sight and Sound. It's such an awesome little head shop. I know the chances of you ever going there though are limited!

  • I meant here on YouTube!

  • Check out a few cuts from Charlie's new album, "Kitchens of Distinction"here on Yahoo

  • excellent guitar rift at the end, one of my favorites, thanks for sharing

DREAMER WE LOVED IT STILL DO.... THANKS FOR PUTTING THIS ON.....

  • I remeber buying this album simply because the girl on the cover was Sooo Hot !!! with those long shapely legs. Good album, nice to hear this again. Was a good album for relaxing around the pad in the evening with a couple of friends and our dates. Coctails, lights down a bit low. Blue screen coming off the Marantz stereo.

    Ahhhh . . Life was full of possibilities . . . lotta territory uncovered yet . . .coming into our own . . hopeful . . . not jaded! . . Good Times

  • @mastrclndr i always got high when i put this record on, yeah, good times in the day

  • @RonyMexico Yeah . . the good 'ol days . . . if we could only relive 'em! . . I can imagine listening to the echo in LA Dreamin while stoned . . . actually god quality back grounf for sittin around high for sure.

  • I got this record sitting in a box beside my bed. I'm trying to figure out how to transfer it onto my computer. I got a turntable for Xmas so I could record all my old stuff. Damn can I figure it out? NO

My sneakers are leaking. Thanks Baily for turning me onto new stuff. None of are about to admit our yearnings aye? Sorry Jamie.

  • @dlbrereton Lucky, I wish I had one to record all my vinyl.

  • @dlbrereton there is a turntable with a usb cord on it, you can copy that to your c drive then copy it from there

  • @dlbrereton Get a line and run from your headphones jack on your stereo to your mic jack on your computer ... The Shack should have everything... adapters ect... an app like Audacity (freeware) can record audio on your comp. They do make USB turntables too

  • AWESOME.....haven't heard it in a long time, and the scratched vinyl made it even better. So glad i saw them with the Fixx & Doobies back in the early 80's. I always thought they were gonna be huge, what happened ?

  • @RUSHUFO I know, they had all the right things to become famous.

  • I'm not a computer genius , I love Charlie from way back. puter my lefy gez

  • I turned myself on to Charlie, I have the first three albums on vinyl from the day. Great litte band.

  • So good to hear again after 25 years! I used to use this song to demonstrate stereo equipment at a stereo shop I worked at in Florida back in 1980. I think I made thousands in comissions making speakers sound great with this song. Awesome!

  • Did I hear the scratching of vinyl? Sweet

  • Yes you did.

  • Great lyrics and tune, plus she's a 12

  • ALWAYS wanted the Cover Girl, too!

  • Lot of memories here.... I'd just started modeling in LA when this was around, and I could see so much of this in so many people there. Luckily, I was well grounded with a 'real' life of sports, music, and surfing. It was a way to make great money and travel, but I watched a lot of people lose it, too. Where they thought they were indispensable, I was always a little embarrassed by it all... lol

Great song. Hit the nail on the head for far too many people in LA, struggling to be 'someone'.

  • As the writer of this song it's good to see it still providing some pleasure, that's for sure. There's a new Charlie-music website just launched with tons of weird and wonderful pics, videos, and unheard tracks.

  • I lost this ALBUM during a move or divorce... lots of airplay in Houston when I lived there... no one on the East Coast had ever heard of it... wasn't on napster or I-tunes... I figured I'd never hear it again... I love this site for old, lost music

  • @kevinracefan17 Can't remmeber what station it was that started playing Charlie. KLOL, KAUM or another here in H town but was enough to get me to buy three of their albums.

  • What a great tune. From 3:25 to the end is so smooth, I listened to it about10 times back to back. Love the scratches from the vinyl.

  • Awesome. I know, love em too.

  • You are right buzzed,I saw the same tour at the Tower Theater in Philly. Both bands on FIRE that special night. I wasn't 100% sure if they opened up for the Kinks but you confirmed it for me.Thanks

  • Only 420 views. There should be 4 million views. These tunes are irreplaceable. The public, they just don't have a clue do they?

  • So true. Sad that Charlie is so little known.

  • @TomSpelson Actually; I have the CD---------sans scratches :)

  • Nice. One of many underrated bands from my high school days, not to mention one of my favorite cuts from them. Great post!

  • Definitely.

  • is JA John Anderson?

    steve Newman

  • Within a week or so, I'll post a video that not many have seen!!!

    Stay tuned.

    JA

  • It's alawys great to see those other Charlie fans out there. THey were so great but never really become well known. They did tout the US once that I know of but I never saw them. There is alot of great songs out there though. But you have to look.

  • The best music usually has to be looked for.

  • I was one of the lucky few.they opened for the kinks at the paramount in seattle 1978/79.( I can still feel the tingle of goose bumps)they also changed the lyrics to johny hold back.Wished i could find a live cut of that. GREAT SHOW, BOTH BANDS!!!!!

  • bddbjrsexy, Thank you for this great Charlie song. It's been 31 years since I have heard this awesome band. They are trully one of the great bands of the 70's that was not so-popular.

  • Any time.

  • garimo, right with you there and all counts. Thanks for this great Charlie song. It has also about 30 years for me also. They are truely one of the great band of the 70's that was not so-popular. I can't wait to show this to my friends.

  • I watched the video about your mom - she was a very beautiful woman and if she was a Charlie fan she must have been very cool as well! Sorry for your recent loss of her.

  • Thanks.

  • You did it, bddbjrsexy!! Thanks!! You the man, again!! How did you hear about Charlie? Not known to many people.

Sooo many memories associated with this song. Good to hear it again.

  • Haha, yeah! Well I'm actually a 16 year old that heard about them from my mom years ago. I love em. I have all her vinyl of them and I have Fantasy girls on CD. It's nice to see people still like and remember them.
