Great actor, just don't know how you resolve that issue, since, according to Hugh Laurie, Brits are so much more aware of accents. The guy sounds like he's from San Francisco.

So one of the things that struck me about John Barrowman is his accent (I thought why does it sound so American?) Lo and behold, I'm actually not too far from the town where he grew up in the states.

He doesn't sound like a full-blown American to me, prob. because I am one. His words are just a little too "crisp" and seperated and I still hear the occasional trace of Scottish in there. For instance, his reference to it being "a dream-job come true," the word "job" sounds like "jobe". Still, probably a more convincing American accent than any British accent I could pull off (aside from Cockney).
