  • I got oil on mine by mistake :( i used methalated spirit (how ever you spell it) should that do the job! where'd you get your shirt from? :L

  • @MTBwayneMTB Hi, If you got oil on your disc then methylated spirits should do the trick, although you'd be best off using isopropyl alcohol or disc brake cleaner. If the oil is on the pads, there isn't much you can do as the oil soaks into them and is probably best to buy new ones. You could try to re surface both pads and soak them in a solvent. My T shirt was brought from the online store Zazzle. Thanks!

  • @TheBicycleGeek I got them on my pads to but i just spun the wheel and put meth spirits on and braked while bike was on stand it seemed to have done the job though the the pads need re cleaning every so often but it seems to be ok for now but i'll think about weather i should get new pads soon thanks for advise :) I'm going to buy myself that shirt!!

  • @MTBwayneMTB That's okay! Glad its working. Yeah have have quite a few shirts from their site. Make sure you select the slightly higher quality cotton though, as the base level grade is quite thin. Cheers.

  • @TheBicycleGeek Ok will do! thanks for the advise! :)

  • @MTBwayneMTB No Problem!!

  • can u use methylated spirits instead, or some sort or rubbing acohol?

  • @42RANGA Personally I would not use Methylated Spirits. Rubbing alcohol is fine though. Thanks for watching.

  • @TheBicycleGeek thank you so much for the really quick reply

  • @42RANGA That's ok! Please subscribe if you found this video helpful, I still have many more vids to come and am open to requests.

  • @TheBicycleGeek it help heaps man rubbing alcohol worked like a treat coupled with realigning the callipers

  • @42RANGA Thanks a lot, I will be doing a few more vids on Hydraulic Brakes soon. Including bleeding and aligning the calliper as you said.

  • @42RANGA Thats ok. As well as Hydraulic brakes I will also do some videos on mechanical disc brakes. Thanks.

  • where did u get that t-shirt :O

  • @MrHinchliffe Its from an online store called Zazzle, they do loads of T-shirts and other cool things. I have recently had a few new T-shirts for my 18th Birthday so you will see those in further videos. Thanks for watching.

  • :58 FUCK THAT im not doing that to my precious!

  • @joemac92 It honestly isn't bad for the pads. This is what most bike shops do. Does the same job as sandpaper. Just don't use a really abrasive wall.

  • cool video. will try it. subbed :)

  • @JudoChoppethUrFace Thanks a lot, I appreciate the support. Will be doing some other brake vids soon.

  • Good video. Work on getting the sound quality though. You'll have a lot more viewers/subscribers if they can hear you clearly, unlike all the other videos on this subject.
