... I think the music is the unfortunate part (hee, a bit 60's retro tribal jazzy). And I really miss the excitement of Jeff Probst's energy as a host.

Nick thought he had an alliance with the group and yet they are voted him off. Stupid people! I like Nick, I thought he was strong and cool. He shouldn't have started the alliance.
It's the standard practice of voting out the bossy dictator first. He wasn't as bad as others that have been the first gone in the U.S., but he was still domineering enough to ruffle some feathers.
He lost the "Don't tell me what to do/Let me do it" battle.
b/c he was strong, therefore a threat to the others. He was too upfront about his strengths and skills so many perceived him as a dangerous player. Not hard to understand this. Those who voted him off were smart.

My Scottish relatives said that they were "gutted" when something hit them hard.
Not a very clear video. I much prefer Jeff...this version is difficult to watch...not surprising the show wasn't a hit in the U.K.

Seemed more like battle of the sexes to me. Nick was clearly targeting the women and wanted a male dominated tribe. The women beat him to the punch.
