Ed & Al happy as hell to be back in business (AC/DC & Black Sabbath ain't the ONLY ones who came back strong after a loss). They were FINALLY on top. Sammy's fighting an invisible man is HILARIOUS !! Ed making impact & animal noises with his guitar SICK. Al digs on Ol' Hank & Mike & Ed make "Addicted To Love" FUNKY. Can't get THIS stuff no more.

I only wish I had seen them on the Fair Warning tour in Oakland, but, alas, the tickets were sold out before I could get any. I saw VH in '84 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco and was blown away!!! I sat on EVH's side, cause I'm a guitarist, and was amazed at how DLR was able to take 20,000 screaming fans and make it feel like it was an intiment setting. At one point some drunk A-hole was throwing firecrackers at the stage and one blew off right next to DLR head and he stopped the concert and told the guy if he did it again VH were going to walk. BALANCE: short again, like 5150 hairdo was, but hair not as dry and puffed out like before.
Cool video from the 80's as it shows these guys having a good time makeing music together. Shame to see how the relationship between the VanHalen Bros. and Sammy and Michael has deteriorated to the point where they aren't close anymore.
