@Dusto22 No. Horner was previously the first officer of a ship that worked with Raynor's Raiders during this campaign. The commander of this campaign is the former Colonial Magistrate of Mar Sara. He leaves Raynor's Raiders shortly after the fall of the Confederacy. I honestly wished that Blizzard would have made Horner to be the Magistrate, but Blizzard apparently likes loose ends.

Not being rude about broodwar, but the campaign from original starcraft is so good the one from broodwar is severely disapointing...

IMO

starcraft campaign > starcraft 2 campaign > broodwar campaign.

Ok now you can flame me all you want, it's my opinion.

@Xecutionner2K Flame flame flame! BW by far brought in the most plot twists and mystery. SC2 is very basic, same with SC. SC set the foundation..Brood war expands on it (as an expansion it did its job) and SC2 is just more of that same setting foundation..it's almost like SC2 went backwards - now at the end of WoL we're back where we were in SC1 except we know about the hybrids this time - that is all.

I actually played and love Starcraft but...it was SO long ago that today, when I started to play SCII i couden't remember ABYTHING (with the exception of Korrigan fate). I didn't even know anymore who was arcturus mengsk and Jay Raynor!!

How does the story and play work exactly; do you switch off to other "perspectives"? Meaning moving to one side to the next to get the whole story. Or does it work in a different way. If so, would you please explain?

@Markis2bi4 The story in Starcraft 1 plays out in the explicit linear fashion you see here. The scenes where you see the talking heads and text are mission briefing screens that give you context to the mission you are about to tackle. And then, there are bits of dialogue and story that are interspersed with the missions. It's a continuous story, watching all the videos in order is like watching Starcraft play out as a movie.

You start as a Terrain and fight for the Terrains. Then you complete mission of the terrain. Start as a Zerg. Lol, even though they are evil you have no choice, you must play by their side. Next is Protoss. Thats all 3 of them.
