Wow, this makes you wonder why they even tried to make racing games back then... Awesome cars in there though, RUF Yellowbird, Dodge Daytona and so on!
They made the most from the current technology indeed. The early Test Drive series actually rendered the best car graphics back then compared to other racing games. Your right at least the car selection was great.
I have that game too. Everything's exciting bout that game, gameplay graphics (as least for its time) but the only thing I hate about it, is there's no damage. Heck even the 4 color Test Drive from 1987 gets a cracked windshielf when you crash. Driving in high speed without damage is boring...there's no thrill when there are no consequences for your errors.
very good. I have this game on the sega genesis, and is the best version. I don't like the snes and PC versions, but the amiga one i always wanted to play, but it seens to me that the controls in this version nesse some thightening. but it's surely a good port.
This is an exquisite game. I used too play this back in the day on the SNES. Good times!!

It's me, or this game it's similar to Street Rod series? The graphics are very similar.

Both came out in 89. However the TD series was earlier than SR. The first Test Drive was in 87 in 4 color graphics!

@strittan Compare Lotus Turbo Challenge II on the same platform - that had a much quicker frame rate.

The only thing I ever hated about the Test Drive series was the really slow update rate.

Looks like you added the extra car disks. I remember the "Musclecars" or as I liked to call them, the clunkers.

I agree I hope that TDU 2 makes up for damage, gas, ect. They just don't make great games like this anymore.

I love this game. If only somebody could code it so you could compete online! Then it really would be a duel.
