RV toilets are a joke, why not just stick a garbage bag in a 5 gallon plastic bucket, straddle over w/ a commode seat, empty daily & your' good to go.
@CrowsFlight lots of people convert a bus for around $5000. We wanted one that is like a house, so for one like ours it is about $30,000. We paid for it over a two year period. Gas is expensive, but still way cheaper than what we used to pay in rent. You can't park a skoolie in many places for long periods of time. We are lucky to have some friends who live in a pretty chill neighborhood, but usually you have to keep moving. We'll be traveling a lot from here on out.
despite how cool this all. I feel kinda bad for the children. When they wanna watch porn or bring home a girl.... or a guy... man what gives! hahaha its awful.
But thisis awesome, so cool that you are living a super minimalist life and I hope your family enjoys it and it turns out to be the coolest thing that brings about many experiences that you'll never forget (good ones)
Is the PVC piping coming off the toilet just to vent out gasses from the poo chamber?
This is so exciting to watch the progress you guys are making. More of these long videos please.. for some reason, it's really fun to just sit around and watch you guys do your thing.
@arcooke Yes, that's right. There is a fan that pulls air through the opening of the toilet and out through that PVC pipe. This really does a great job of keeping the smells out, and even after about a weeks use there is no smell at all. Surprisingly even outside by the exit vent, there are not really any vents. I had real concern that if it didn't reek inside, it would outside. It doesn't at all though.
Would you mind saying where you got your toilet from?

I really wanna do this someday. How much does it all cost? Isn't gas going to be outrageous? And where can you park that thing? o-o
