I believed you may be a bit confused about something. The Koreans never once ruled China. They were more like servants. The Han Dynasty as the same name (Han) as the Chinese majority group, the Han. You are half right when you say that, Koreans are Chinese. In China, Koreans are considered one of the many minority groups. Those Koreans have been in China for several generals and are considered Chinese citizens, just like Japanese Koreans in Japan.

However I disagree that Asian countries are that much different. Japan is still confucianist and buddhist which was transferred from India & China. We are somewhat more homogenous relative to the US and Europe.

Those are interesting points, but the economy is still difficult with capital movement than the US, because the US has only one language so it's easier for capital mobility. However, the EU has some arguments for monetary policy and the economy. Capital movement would be harder because of different languages and monetary policy would affect all countries, so they would lose their independence.
