My brother just told me that he heard on the news that this coin without the edge markings is quite rare and will be worth anywhere from $10 to $100 a piece in less than 6 months. Some investors are paying $5 NOW. The news said that people are scrambling to buy the mismarked coins!
"In god we trust" ought to left off of the new coins. Look at what christianity has done to this country? Most of the worlds wars have been started for religious reasons. Hey, you can grind "god" off the coins if you want to. Just a suggestion.
Have you heard the news about the coins released from 2009 on: the "In God We Trust" will now appear on the face because they don't want any more errors like this to occur.
If only I had it in me to lie about something like that. Those coins are fresh from the roll. I still have one left. Trust me, they are not sanded, I can put one one a scale and prove it.
Lol, it's been awhile since you've done a video kd5tmu, it's good to see that you're still here though.
I wish that they would make a smaller roll of $1's, probably packs of 10 or so. How else can retailers use both the $1 coin and the $2 bill without breaking the rolls beforehand? My current idea is: $50 in fives, $24 in twos, $8 in dollar coins, $10 in quarters, $5 in dimes, $2 in nickels, and $1 in pennies. That still kinda sucks though.
Or they could just replace all singles with dollar coins and replenish them at the bank. I'll be posting a video soon, I just need to get my new powertools first!
But then that would leave out two dollar bills, and I know that people would get pissed off if they would receive four dollar coins at once. At Kmart, our cash drawers contain $100, so $100 has to be paid back eventually during the day. If there is going to be change, this probably should stay the same... I really need a strong argument if I'm going to talk with my boss.... and I need to stop procrastinating on this homework!
No, because the drawer would still have a spot for the $2 bills. And then, you'd get no more than one dollar coin per transaction in change. But one roll will be good because your Two's would still be used, and one roll will be necessary througout the day until it becomes common place to have dollar coins trading hands. Take care of your homework, and I'll post a video explaining it later. Maybe a drawer just over $100 might be the solution, especially with the value of the dollar lately.
And by the way, I already made sure that our tills can fit everything, including coupons and rag dollars people give us; twenties and above go underneath.
One left, I'll check what going rate is. Not sure if I wanna sell that last one, but I'll talk with my advisers (the fiancee) and see what the options are. Thanks for your interest.

save your money and buy some REAL 999 gold or silver American Eagle coins because they are made with precious metals, not this junk.
Look at the 5 year silver chart and see for yourself how much silver and gold has increased!!
Zwikster 3 years ago
hey man this is worth about the same as a 1/4 ouce of gold. its not junk...
DeathJr2006 3 years ago
certainly not junk. but 1/4 ounce of gold has better long term potential for financial gain than an error coin. thats just fact
YoMomma21212 2 years ago
on tv they sell them for $600.

Lucky find!
I found a commemorative £2 last week with incorrect edge lettering.
"PEMEMBEP PEMEMBEP THE FIFTH OF NOVEMBEP"
The "R" must have cracked.
DeltaNC 3 years ago
any idiot can wet sand the edge and buff it in a matters of a minutes
82flh 3 years ago
Not only would its be visibly obvious the coin would have an incorrect weight.

@kd5tmu actually these are not errors, they made some of these without the edge print, they made 10,000 of them by mistake.

The mint prolly does this on purpose just to get money out of people.
fireemouth 4 years ago
The mint gets no money for errors. Private citizens and coin shops get money for errors.
kd5tmu 4 years ago
The mint gets crap from people who think that it's a giant conspiracy to "rid God from America."
BirdValiant 4 years ago
But they want people to open the rolls and bags and use them.John Adams error shows up even after 1st error, did it on purpose.
deathmetalpat 4 years ago
LOL.. this is not an error. It was planned and done on purpose to generate interest. LOL ... I will give you a dollar for it.
