  • What a guy.

    This is one strong fellow.

    Total respect to this guy.

    Stay strong mate.

  • so he used to tell people his parents died in a car crash, and now he went on national telly to tell everyone?

  • @blueray1969 Yes I went on national Tv to tell people and thankfully doing so has helped so many people, just see the many comments below. It was the best thing I've ever done.

  • This brang tears to my eyes listen to this brave guy tallk. And hes dad only got 9 years rediculous man...

  • Tears came to my eyes watching this brave guy explain what happenend to hin st the age of 8. And he only got 9 years he deserves to rot in prison.......

  • Tears came to my eyes listening to this guy. 9 years come on is that it emotional.....

  • I was around 8 when I had to stop my mum from attacking my dad with a knife. That night is the night my dad left. I have a really hard life. But what you've been through is just un imaginable. What kills you only makes you stronger. I'm still young, and if im this independent by myself right now, I could rule the world one day. Bless you:)

  • omg :'( Just unbeliveable courage shown there

  • The criminal justice system in the uk is a joke, they should take a leaf out of America's

system when u kill some 1 u get a lot of years or the death penalty.

  • why is everybody saying an eye for an eye?

i say, survival of the fittest. no jail sentence for murderers :)

  • there is no question at all that your mother would be so proud of you and the lovely man you have grown up to be. Your bravery was amazing to go on the show and re-live such a tragic event that kills to even think about, but what you have done raised awareness to so many people out there, and you yourself have probably saved lives by just telling your story. Thank you, and I wish you the most joy and happiness for your life<3

  • This guy is very brave. Respect!

  • 9 years thats disgusting :O though steven is a real hero x

  • if someone kills some innocent person then the killer should be hanged.. they should bring back the death penalty!

  • ihe he really murdered her like that how the fuck did he do 9 years? thats unreal. 9 fucking years?

  • Your just amazing, man. The courage it would take to chase after that murdering scum and the strength you have to live through all this is just.. amazing :o

  • wat cowardly neighbours..... they shud b ashamed of themsleves and i hope they realise tht they mayb had a chance of helpin stop the attack but instead they chose to hide away. ur super brave and i hope u find everythin u wnt in life coz no matter wat, ur mum will b proud

  • I completely understand why people take the law into their own hands coz the law is bullshit......If someone murdered someone I loved I would take care of them myself

  • hoping life is full of blessings and love for you now x

  • keep strong mate. everyone is behind you. you are an inspiration.

  • You are awesome man...just amazing

  • 9 years? YOU GET more for having a pic of your girlfriend

  • Im not being funny either but that lad was surrounded by cowards. From the Neighbours to the Grandfather they are partially to blame because if they had acted before hand and reported that there was domestic violence going on the this piece of shit of a so called "man" would have been gone a long time ago.He was an aggressive drunk who abused his family and tortured them.Hes no man and neithers this lads granfather for saying its just going to be another black eye.I would have killed the cunt.

  • Well,I hope you go on and live a better life mate you deserve it.Its easy to say push on and keep going but it is hard when it lands on your own doorstep especially at such a young age.It takes one hell of a person to pick themselves up and keep going which is a Testiment to the lad and to his Mother. She would be proud my firend.

  • 9 years for murder... yet you'll get 256 years for large scale fraud, or a huge bank robbery... shows you where the governments priorities lie, Money.

  • i feel for you dude, i know what it feels like to have that kind of horrible violent loss of someone you love, i hope you keep doing okay man, peace

  • i am not defending people who commit crimes such as burgarly and fraud, but those sort of people have to do more times than 9 years than scum like that, they are not right! I dont defend the 2 examples above, but no way should murderers get 9 years and people who commit fraud and robberies get more than years than murders.

  • 9 years in prison, including all the luxuries they also get in that fucking place, no wonder things like this set bad examples and why people do it. a disgrace! WTF is wrong with the law system, seriously can they do fuck all right. if anyone with a right mind was in charge of these kinds of stuff, they would use the common f**cking sense to make murders etc life. overcrowding prisons? Who gives a fuck if they get overcrowded and dnt have enough cells, let them sleep anywhere rought in prison!

  • Poor guy..

  • I can't help but feel, that this story is far too deep and serious for an entertaiment show hosted by the pretentious prik Jeremy Kyle. Who can't keep his own life in order, and has the cheek to judge others. This man has been through alot, and is far too good a bloke to be on this shit heap of a show.

  • i never really thought much of jeremy, he only deals with ridiculous situations you know with complete tossers? and then you came along and you can see hes speechless, because your story isnt some hollyoaks drama that he can shout his way though for some more views, its real. no offence i just think jeremy was a bit out of his league on this one. but id like to say you are the strongest person ever, especially at only 8. i really hope that each day gets brighter for you because you deserve it x

  • The dad sounds like an animal so treat him accordingly...Castrate the fucker and and feed him to a pack o pitbulls

  • i really respect you having the strength to do this, i cant begin to imagine how hard it was for you, hats off to you mate, your story has changed alot of peoples lives for the better

  • @aaronporter1987 yep it shouldn't be like that, i mean it shouldn't be done to anywhere and anytime .Sure, It needs a lots of strength to do this . The story is gonna be massive lesson to keep our eyes wide opened to work out a things being around of us . We should see even a small things to get them better

  • I remember watching this. Sent chills down my spine. Still gives me goosebumps.

You are real strong for getting through that. Watching this the first time had me in tears.

  • You're an amazing guy!

  • oh my god.!!! bless you

  • 9 Years in jail for murder . .. disgusting example EXACTLY the problems with the United Kingdom

  • @MotorsportUK2009 hey dude calm it down, i'm british and i think that 9 year sentance is fucking ridiculous. Most brits think prison sentances in this country are far too short, but we as individuals don't have the power to change the law. But i hope to god is does change very soon.

  • Too much freedom given to prisoners now they say we should let the wasters vote - get off your ass UK and take charge of your own country!!!.. He wrote them abusive and threatening letters - why were they not stopped, he served 9 years oh wow you get more for fiddling benefits, the law is a joke and it does not give a hoot about justice

  • The video was so moving, and thought-provoking, but the thing which sent me over the edge and made me cry was the comments this page has recieved. Life should absolutely mean life, and the criminal justice system needs to be tightened so much in order to prevent such heartbreaking things happening in the future. The very fact it could happen again is a disgrace to the country.

  • this guy is so sweet, hope his life gets better everyday

  • Don't usually post comments, but I have to praise your bravery and I pass on my sympathy.

  • what ever happened to the death penalty.. good example of when it is NEEDED

  • Released from prison after murdering his own wife, and trying to murder his own son? Sum deserves the death penalty, the world needs rid of men like that.

  • Hope he has/finds a partner and has some happiness, this would be hard to get through :(

  • u will be an inspiration to many peoples life for what u did having the courage to stand up to an evil and sick twisted man u shud be so proud of urself for everything you did and everything ur doing now

  • Poor lad bless him

  • What a brave guy. Hope he finds some happiness in his life.

  • you are an absolute hero,

your mother would be so very proud,

    and more to the point,

    you should be proud,

the fact you get up and face the world each day is no mean fete,

    you are an outstanding person,

    xx

  • He seems like a really nice guy! From what I hear people that go through that are kinda messed up!

  • You poor soul, you watched your mother die?

I feel for you, what a horrible thing to watch.......

  • God bless this man!!! I bow down to you!

  • Oh boy, I've had a lot rubbish happen in my life, but this...

There are no words that can describe what hes probably going through right now. My hat goes off to him out of respect. May god bless him and his mother.

  • @FamilySimFemale: I THOROUGHLY agree!

  • im a strong person but this brought tears to my eyes ):

  • Wow, that defies description, gee..

  • Why does our government have such faith in criminals? They seem to think that prison will REHABILITATE them from their crimes. If that's the case why are there so many who get let off early for 'good behaviour', and within weeks they are sent back!

Furthermore they get treated so well- 3 meals a day, TV & even game consoles now apparently?

Its no wonder the evil scum of the world just carry on doing what they do- it's not like they're EVER gonna get truly punished is it!

    Disgusting..

  • if you take someones life without it being justified by moral standards , you should be bled to death like a pig and then burnt to ashes and the ashes offered to the victims families .

  • Take solace in the fact that the piece of shit is burning in hell friend

  • i think for murder the system should be that u dont get 10 20 30 years you should get however many years the person u killed wud roughly of had left to live like u kill a 25 year old you get 50 years i mean they might not live to 75 but u yano what i mean lol

  • JK has died down these few years. They were on about some lady who ate the Christmas pork pie the other day!

  • This is to much to hear. Going back abit. The father would of been hung for this.

  • my god... when life seems like it couldnt get any worse, i will think of these poor souls and everything they have been through... so hard hitting its almost unreal, and its a shame it isnt unreal!

  • Most people would of given up, you're amazing. GL in life

  • Well In The USA Corrected ME If Am Wrong Please But In the USA Life = Life

In The Uk Life Means anyhting up to 12 years ( they can get out earlyer on good behaver )

  • @Hopwood12 Well in the US having more than one Life sentence without Parole = Life.

Yes you can have more than one life sentence LOL.

Just having a life sentence means you do have a chance to get out on good behavior and show of improvement. But if not you're in their forever, boy.

  • @allydr90 more than one consecutive life sentence means that even when you are dead, you're body is buried within prison grounds, your family, or what's left of it when your sentence is over, can only claim your body once all time has been served.

  • 9 ys for taking a human life? for taking a mother away from her son? This is why I hate the Criminal Justice System a lot of times - this is disgusting. And the sub-human scum sent death treats to a 9yr old child, which the police knew about, yet the CJS still let him out early. He should have been locked up without the chance of parole.

The young man is so brave for coming on the tv and saying this; God bless him, and may his mother rest in peace. He'll have in many ways helped other people.

  • you are the bravest man to walk the planet in my eyes wish you all the best pal

  • The criminal justice system in england is shit, i agree with all coments that state life should mean life or bring back capital punishment

  • I'm not a religious person by no means but I hope you find the peace in your life that u now deserve. And may god bless you.

    Lynn From Scotland

  • Nine years is an insult to the lady, and an insult to this brave and remarkable young man

  • Oh my God.

Brought tears to my eyes v_v

  • this dude got some SERIOUS balls for sayin' this...especially on TV

  • I just feel very angry.. how can he be free?

I really feel more agry than sorry.

  • what a brave boy!!! I encourage u to hold on!

Life is really hard, but remember, time will tell the tale, or like we say in Spain, "el tiempo pone a cada uno en su lugar" which means time/life puts everyone in the place they should be, and yout father (if you can call it like this) will find what he deserves sooner or later.

Cheer up!!! And greetings from Madrid

  • You are so brave for living throught that terrible ordeal and for telling your story. Nothing or no one can replace your Mother, but she would be proud to see how you've turned out hunny.

  • you know you get people who come onto this show for things like DNA tests and Lie detectors because they couldn't keep their pants on or whatever, and this has given the show a reputation of being here chavs and what not go. but to come on with a truely harrowing story like this. THATS when you have to give jezza some credit for what he does.

to do this, you have to give the lad a lot of credit.

  • @thebladeofchaos

'a lot of credit' is FAR too little to say for this guy!

  • @thebladeofchaos Absolutely agree!!!

  • brave guy - I used to work for social services (admin) and had to type reports of similar things happening every day...

  • one of the few episodes of Jeremy Kyle that has nothing to do with people not having a clue who their child's father is or somethin like that, it is a sad story and I hope that all involved are now living peaceful lives and have bright futures

  • I just wish I had the Courage this MAN has. He is an insperation to make us stop and think how lucky we are. GOOD ON YOU FELLA. CARMA WILL PREVALE!!!

  • Jesus..

  • wow he has a hell of a good memory, considaring he wasd 8.. WOW, my heart goes out to him

  • time and I give all credit to her for all my successes. I feel for this man and to him my message would be, if you ever need a friend do remember, YOU HAVE ONE....Mac (name concealed) from Pakistan

I wish his father should have served all his life not just 9yrs and ths man is a gem and I wish him all the best.

  • I cried watching this. My heart goes out to this young man. I could see the terrified 8 year old boy when he was talking.

  • i feel so so sorry for him but he is a very brave man for sharing this and i really hope he has the chance to build a happy family life of his own!!!! xx

  • i feel so so sorry for him but he is a very brave man for sharing this and i really hope he has the chance to build a happy family life of his own!!!! xx

  • All I can say is, you are one amazing guy and your mum will be proud of you. God bless you mate x

  • hope u ok dude

  • I watched this and really felt for everyone, especialley the guy. I am scarred by many awful things in my life but none as much as you are. Your a very brave man and should feel proud of yourself xx

  • Thank god the bastard is dead. Nine years is a complete sham and somebody should have wiped his life out while his sickening existence remained. It's cases like this which call waves for the death penalty to be re-instated.

    Greatest respect to steven.

  • I didn't cry...but I really felt like I was going to...poor guy..

  • This certainly does put things into perspective and I'm sure it consoles others. It's a huge step confronting that history - and not only that but you've also done so in a way that might help others. I really glad you've since found closure and you should know that while your father was a bad person you clearly take after your mother as one of those special people bringing light into a sometimes dark world. Keep shining. I hope you have people around you to support you.

  • Omgg :O

  • Bless this guy

  • Much Respect For the Very Brave man for Sharing this tragic story. Much respect to you and good luck.

  • ong

  • total respect to you for telling this on the show i think you are a very brave young man and i wish you all the happness in the years to come

  • i just what to say i think you a very brave man to tell your story on the show my heart goes out to

  • my heart goes for this young man for what he has had to see . this made me cry .

  • i am so sorry for you this made me cry so much my prayers and heart is for you god bless you mate respect to you allways

  • My heart really goes out for this young man. This made me cry.

  • this is harsh, i'm glad he's ok now.

  • i say the dad should be hung by his balls and his fucking head choped of!!!!!!!

  • hope the neighbours saw this

  • the best guest this show ever had was this great guy

  • Bave guy telling his story because I felt for him, god bless you

  • Indeed 9 years is shit.

  • I don't understand why Steven's grandfather hadn't tried to protect his own daughter from a violent husband. He dismissed their call for help that it would just be another black eye. If he'd protected her earlier it may never have ended so tragically.

Other point. How was the father allowed to send out threatening letters from prison. I thought they're vetted before being sent. Surely these threats should have prevented his life sentence from being reduced to 9 years??

    System stinks!

  • omg

  • I can not imagen how awefull that must be... Thats terrible.

  • Oh I remember watching this one, its just so goddamn awful, some people are right tossers and need to be shot on sight without second judgement.

  • The brave poor boy bless him....the way hes suffered without his mum all these years,...may god always help him n be with him.....he deserves sooo much better in life....My mum went thru domestic violence she gt the police n afta a while tuk my dad bak...i knw hw it feels 2 go thru this as a kid cs im onli 14 n i ws 13 n iv gne thru sooo much ova my parents thnk god everything slowly went bk 2 normall..my parents r happy 2geva now xxBless himxx

  • i remember watching this when it was first aired... thank you so much for posting... this is so powerful and really gave credibility to the JK show... (admittedly the guys story would be as heart breaking on any format) but to anyone who thinks Jeremy Kyle is all about chav's and lie detector tests watch this segment and tell me that you still feel the same... bravest guy i've ever seen... tears with every viewing...

  • Your were a brave young man... And I think you are even braver now coz u haev told this to everyone. I wish u more luck in the future <3

  • The lack of consistancy never ceases to amaze me with our british justice system. That poor boy i pray for him.

  • the dad should be hung and balls chopped off

  • @redse08 they should hang him by the balls.

  • 9 YEARS!!!! I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE this country's law system. A LIFE FOR A LIFE!!! No wonder people take things into their own hands!

  • poor lad :(

  • im afraid the majority of men arent bastards and it makes me sad that some women feel that way. you should judge each person individually, not collectively judge each man with the plural men and that all men are bastards.

  • brave lad, in tears watching this

  • rihanna should watch this lol

  • poor poor guy

  • brave

  • I feel so sorry for him. And the dad omg I would do some serious harm to him...how could he...to a woman! what a big bad beast

  • Sorry about ur mum lad So So Sorry !!

  • Ditto.

  • poor guy he is very brave

  • "He was sentenced to life, and served nine years, and now is released."

Life should MEAN life these days, don't you think?

  • i agree why call it life when it isnt

    life should be life

  • Agree Completely!

  • I totally agree.

When you hear people are given a life sentence, you know full well they'll be coming back out

  • agreed

  • @FamilySimFemale No time is ever enough

  • @FamilySimFemale No time is ever enough

  • @FamilySimFemale no, i think he should be executed by firing squad.

  • @FamilySimFemale

the law fucked up i hope to change it when im 0lder

  • @FamilySimFemale remember english law dictates that you server a quarter of the sentence.

  • @FamilySimFemale Life should mean death penalty in my opinion. Its just my opinion.

  • wow........... just wow that is wow that is one of the worst stories i ever heard i feel so sorry for him

  • ohya :(

  • Curse the race of men! They're either cheaters, perverts, women beaters or murderers!! Only a handful of men are decent like Steven and Jeremy. And this is coming from a man!

  • We definitely are.

  • It takes a real one to admit that. Thanks.

  • I agree. It makes me sick that so many men can do anything like that to a woman. Plenty of my female friends have been abused by their other halfs or by other men, and it just isn't fair.

I can never blame women for thinking all men are bastards when the majority of them are

  • This makes me shiver with horror when I listen to this story! I feel so sorry for Steven. I really hope someone kills his father cos he deserves to burn in hell.

  • Poor guy. It breaks my heart how a father can do that. :(

  • This made me cry :( it was really upseting to hear it and everything :(

    I feel sorry for him

  • Poor man. He's really brave for going onto the show.

  • 9 years?

for killing a woman and destroying this man.

My heart goes out to him.

  • That Fred West was just down the road from me i think they have knocked the house down now

  • Why is this getting thumbs down from people?

  • this is a real man

  • poor man...!

  • People can be the most vile evil things ... these stories are tragic. :(

  • Ahhhh bless that poor lad, that must have been so bad seeing that happen, my heart goes out to him, i hope he can move on, Hes so brave aswell going on Tv and disscussing this.

Bless him, He seems such a nice lad aswell.

Jeremy Kyle is a very good speaker and sorts out alot of stuff, and he also speaks his mind so well.

  • i couldnt believe this story, steven was so brave to go on tv and tell his horrific story, is the dad still alive and threatening? he should have been behind bars for ever. whats wrong with this tiny island? ffs! im always aghast at what people are capable off, why is there so much evil in the world, im a single parent to a boy 10yrs, his father was a dreadful partner, i got out before the next thing he picked up to hit me with was a golf club. wishing you every happiness, you deserve it.

  • Omg poor lad, that would be horrible seeing your father doing that to ya mum, id grab the knife off him an stab him in the foot lol xx

  • brave guy, god bless you, stay strong.

  • that poor guy!!!

    Steven,

my heart goes out to you,

    God bless, xx

  • its kinda sereal how an individual like steven has managed to keep himself together and stay strong after taking the biggest punch to the nose a child can recive at such a tender age in his life

  • 'He just said "you're next"'.

    What the hell?

It's terrible. What had he done, what had his mother done to deserve this?

When are people going to start thinking? What is happening to this country? It's so sad. I really respect you for going on that show and revealing what happened on national television. You could have helped a lot of people in the same situation...

One day, maybe people will see sense.

  • What a tragic story. You're bravery and courage is a testiment to your mothers life and she obviously lives on through you. Well done.

  • I sincerely hope that neighbour who shut the door on him perishes under the most unfortunate of circumstances. What an absolute cowardly bastard. What kind of person denies a person, a CHILD help under those circumstances?

  • I remember this, very touching x

  • Jesus christ wife beaters and killers absolutely disgust me, If only we could go to them, tell them to stop being a coward, and beat the living shit out of them until they beg for mercy. Make them know what it feels like. Fucking hell poor kid...

  • omg

poor guy. hes so brave. and mentally strong.

    x

  • Nine years, NINE bloody years. This country is going to the dogs!

  • I think it's too late to save this country.

  • I hope you find happiness in your life. You deserve it after what you suffered. God bless you.

  • You are truly one of the most brave and amazing people i have ever witnessed, I hope that your adult life is fantastic. Its the least you deserve for being put through that trauma. I'm sure your mother is very proud to have called you her son. This story has bought tears to my eyes. All i can say is Good Luck for the rest of your Life.

  • I am so incredibly sorry for the kind of childhood you went through. My heart realy goes out for you. You are one of the bravest men i have ever seen! Your mom would have been VERY proud of you.
