I understand, but I think that if the Catholic Church thinks that people shouldn't have sex before marriage they should just say it like that and not mess with the statistics of condoms and birth control. They used to say that women's birth control pills were toxic to the environment which caused male infertility. Also when you think about it a little, the Catholic Church doesn't approve of condoms in marriage because the belief in the prevention of the spread of life. I just look at it as in Africa I think the aids rate is like 1/5 or so, meaning that you could be getting killed by or killing your lover. It just seems a little extreme when they are against it within marriage because if you know one of you has aids it's against the fifth commandment thou shalt not kill. Just as a consideration.

I checked and found out that he never said that. What he basically said was that condoms, like all technical things, cannot be THE solution alone, and that human relations and behaviours are key to improvement, in this problem as in many others. They aren't the focus of this particular conversation since we are talking about the FURTHER spread of the disease. Once again, don't use their plight as fuel for your position. It's very juvenile and obvious. When it comes to life and death matters as is the case with AIDS, abstinence should be stressed. If one isn't in the position to have relations, why put another in danger at all?

Once again, one has to be beware his or her view of history. All views are biased in some way. I have heard and read a variety of historical views. Have you watched History Channel lately? Truly ridiculous. With that said, there have been evils done by men to some argueable degree. That's the done side to this earthly life....we are human and have to deal with humans. This doesn't disprove the Catholic faith though as you admitted earlier and that's where this conversation started.
