Terry Nation...the man knew a good idea when he heard one! Dirty Dozen in Space...yup...he was onto a winner, there, it was dynamite! Why they don't think the way he did these days is a mystery to me, the TV industry seems to be filled with people who have no business being in it!
Doubt theyll bring Blake back . That was the whole reason he agreed to do the final episode if he was to be killed off for good.In some ways the season 3 and 4 endings were good.In the real world the bad guys win sometimes and there arent always happy endings. The Federation was just to big, corrupt, and powerful. The Soviet Union was weak in comparison to the Fed.Servalan is like binLaden u just cant get rid of her.If the Soviets had been like the Fed . the cold war would never had ended.
Destroying the Liberator was a mistake. Season 4 would never be as good as the others because of that. DSV3 could be found (another sister ship of the Liberator). Avon, Orac, Cally and Villa - all superb. This series should have continued. It is simpy the best sci-fi ever made.
yes, Destroying the liberator was what killed it. Season 4 did have some good episodes, mainly the ones that needed a planet for the plot to work, headhunter, warlord etc bur yes, once the liberator has gone it is all over.
@twophotons Nice idea about the DSV3 angle; i had a similar idea for an episode where the crew return to The System after Orac intercepts a transmission that the three planets are at war again because The System is malfunctioning (not destroyed by Blake and the crew when they escaped) and discover not a DSV3 but a new prototype vehicle, developed by the system, ready for maiden test flight. Would have given great scope for a new design whilst keeping the science of the Liberator
Well for me the only one to actualy die was Blake, as hes the only one who actual got bloody. They kept talking about a NEW weapon that the federation had. Maybee it was a stungun. Or that the Extra shots hurd when the screen whent black could have been reenforcements, or the real Blake, Not the Clone Who was actualy shot. So many ways out.
the paul darrow interview, posted on youtube have a bit about terry nations idea for a follow on mini serial.
And I hear talk again of a re-make, just re-doing the old stories seems a bit pointless. but taking the starting point after "time squard" and doing new stories....
Re-start the show from where they left off. How about the "Villa alcoholic nightmare" trick works well? The last episode is all a dream ...

Everyone needs to leave Blake's 7 alone for a few years or decades until I get to be a famous enough writer to get the BBC to make my reimagining.

Terry: Genius.
It was a bad, bad decision to destroy the Liberator. Blake's departure was bad enough. But to kill everyone at the end???
Unforgivable.

@twophotons Totally agree with you mate. As you can see by my username I am a huge B7 fan. They should have made some a couple more seasons.
