I take issue with "improving" this so-called "all-important number". Dave Ramsey just said on his show that your goal should be a score of ZERO. That's where I am. I was at 829 three yrs ago until Dave opened my eyes. During that time, my net worth rose by 100K to 500K. Pay off all debts, close all accts, and wait 6 months & you should be at 0. And, yes, you CAN get a major loan with a 0 score! Aiming for a high CS is just demonstrating you want to maintain & sustain a life of debt!!!!!!!
