It is much easier for a team to dress a 4th line goon than have a defenseman be the goon, most teams only dress 6 d-men and they can't afford to have 1 in the box for 5 or 10 minutes a night..Engelland will go down to the minors when Z returns, his defensive game is weak at best, too many turnovers and out of position WAY too much. Fighting in today's game does little more than excite a drunk crowd, has NO bearing on the game whatsoever.

I agree MWit but not in recent history, the Pens, after years of futility against teh Flyers, by and large have owned them in recent history, despite the fighting, etc that's what I meant, the Bullies were indeed that type of team who would beat you u p and win the game but that was a long, long time ago, my comment was directed more at the recent history of the game in general and this series in particular.

That being said Engelland is NOT a good defenseman, average on his very best day.

The Pens reminded me of the Flyers from years back, the Flyers would fight all night long, kick your ass but LOSE the game, which is exactly what the Pens did last night.

Who lost what fight is unimportant, or a tomato can like Engelland fighting another no-talent tomato can like Shelley. Points in October are much easier to come by then points in March or April.
