  • Great video thanks for posting.

  • 52MPH?

Are you sure that it was not 52KPH?

It's just that the road looks too twisty for 52MPH...

  • @koko56. Yes, very sure. The helmetcam is an Oregon Scientific one and has got a very narrow field of view. The result it it 'looks' a long way down the road and you lose a lot of the impression of speed and everything looks twistier. The guys I was passing were doing 35mph or so. Garmin Edge GPS on my bike so I now the speed was right.

  • Hi looks like you had a great time will be good to look back on in later years, i think i will try it myself after seeing this cheers

  • Yes, it was great fun and I'd do it again at the drop of a hat. That said, the social aspect, camaraderie and banter between mates is half the fun of course.

  • Thanks for the kind comments. The ride took us about 2.5 days. I can't honestly remember where we stayed the first night. I have a feeling it was Keswick. The second night we stayed at Parkhead Station which I can highly recommend. Terry and Lorraine, the proprietors were excellent.

  • great job.making me want to start now. how many days did it take and where did you stay in the nights?

  • looks pretty good pity there was no OCR footage for the lesser people amongst us !!!
