  • You're just gonna stop right at the climax of the piece and kill all the emotion it just created?! WTF?! play out the whole damn song.

  • steve mcgarret hawaii five O 2:08!

  • You want to feel some magic? just close your eyes and listen the magic too. Let it flow.

  • Who wrote Something Inside?

  • @Kakuoteyalu jonathon rhys meyers i think the actor who plays the singer

  • @BlameConnection Thanks.

  • What is the song name that is playing at 3:16??? :O I NEED TO KNOW

  • Too bad that the vibrato @ 1:58 is definately not coming from her hands ;)

  • Music is a great gift!

  • i love these scenes.......makes me wanna cry sometimes.... =')

  • Elgar at 1:34 :-)

  • This movie is eternal proof that musica is not just about skill....you have to have soul too

  • Wow it ended right as i was about to cry. :o

  • To feel music is a gift I wish I had. Luckily for me, I was given a wonderful sense of rhythm, which helps for some music. But to really feel and understand the lyrical flow of music... That's something few have.

  • I wish August rush was a true story :(

  • This is a truly amzing movie.

Music transends all boundaries, it is not defined by race, religion, gender, age. Music speeks to our souls, nothing can change that. No one can prevent that, or control it. Music lives in our hearts, all we can do is take the music that is inside us and share it with everyone else.

  • @Kestral182 Now, you know what music really is, i do too see it this way, music is spiritual, it's feeling, no matter what, i've listen to the same song for hours without end, never got tired of it, because it made me feel a certain way...

  • I love this movie! My dad doesn't understand why, but he was never a musician. My brother and I don't know where we got our love for music, but it's even stronger in me. Randomly throughout the days now, I've been hearing things in my head, and when I get to a piano or guitar, I'm able to get them out. It just comes to me now.

  • @newbster19 You are so lucky! Don't ever let that gift go away.

My dad and I share our love for music even though he doesn't play any instrument, I used to play piano and I quit, it is the only thing I regret doing. Use your gift and compose your own music, it is the best thing in the world to have a connection with an instrument =)

  • I know I play piano and watch people play it on youtube and wish I could play like that. But whenever I try to copy them I can't, so I need sheet music. But I want to play without sheet music and just let it come to me.

  • @SonicandNights1 do it...open up....feel the rythym, and play the notes out.....check out david sprunger too while you're at it......................I know you can do it...if you love to play and read...then you can play....try playing/jamming with some other musicians.

  • @jareds1007 I try but it doesn't work maybe I need to do sheet music a little more before I start being serious about playing random music without it. I like piano but I wanted to play electric guitar. Maybe I could start a band but my parents might not go for that. Oh well.

  • I love this! I have lived through music my whole life! My father plays the guitar, my aunt plays the Clarinet, my grandmother did play the Violin, and I play the flute!!!

  • This movie is pretty good! conveys all the feelings and even makes you listen, appreciate and love more the music, I really was speechless.

  • i love the sad, but spiritual and breath taking sounds a cello can make. Really glad that i switched from violin to cello. The violin was to high pitched and squeaky when i played, but it still makes a lovely sound in my ears. the cello just suits me better, i can't wait till i can play like this.

  • É simplesmente o máximo .

  • the cello is so beautiful, in a heartbreaking way...

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone know the name of the song his mother plays on the cello?

  • @Vina0117 the name of the cello part. is Cello Concerto e minor opu85

    Elgar

  • Where can I download this song?

    What's it's name?

  • this end is more specieal, that he turns around and that he sees his parents and now that they are his parents without saying any thing, but agree that this is a bit an odd end

  • @maykel2608 haha I thought so too. Lyla obviously knew he was her son, but the other guy was probably like "why's that kid looking at me? Oh, it's the kid from the park!" Out of all 3 of them, i suspect that he was the only clueless one. xD

  • I still wish they would have shown a little of what happened at the end. Not just a drop off. It would be cool to have seen them as a family or something. A quick instance of them together.

  • yeah I thought the same thing

  • wtf iss this im way better

  • Wonderful movie. I wish I could feel the music as well as August does.

  • @Ethereal19 i bet you can.if you look deep in you heart it will be their in fact its in all of us who love music.

  • Yo pienso de la misma manera, es la mejor pelicula hecha por siempre, me encanta, es simplemente fantastica.... its amazing :) just beautifull

  • People who can feel the music are the luckiest people in the world.

  • @TatianaSabaxTragedy its probably the most amazing feeling in the world

  • @mskrei93 I know... :)

  • @TatianaSabaxTragedy i don't feel lucky....i feel like i have an endless amount of worth that i cant do anything with because i can't get ALL of it out.

  • @jareds1007 I never said it was easy, it's actually very hard to get things like emotions out, but it's an amazing feeling. Don't even try to think that you're not lucky, because you really are. And I bet you're amazing as well. (:

  • @TatianaSabaxTragedy thanks :o D

  • @TatianaSabaxTragedy i feel music everynight ;-) jk but I know what you mean :O

  • @TatianaSabaxTragedy i never realised that i do feel this way about music... it gives me chills!

  • @TatianaSabaxTragedy Everyone can feel music, but musicians can play and read it.

  • @BritJanny Wrong. everyone is capable of HEARING music

(provided they aren't deaf) but in order to truly FEEL the music you must be at peace with the world around you. You must quiet your mind to if you wish to pick up on the subtle intricacies..

  • @UnusVolatiliAngelus sigh lol wake up

  • @willnelson50 He/She's Right

  • Brilliant and touching. A fantastic movie.

  • i dont remember the acting... its the music haha

  • muy muy bueno

  • love it so much,...

  • We are so grateful to those who "hear" the music, and make us feel it all.

  • wow that was awesome. I feel like I just watched the whole movie without the annoying talking parts XD thanks for posting. Was fun to watch. Great movie. <3 Mark mancina <3333

  • Великолепно!Класс!

  • what is that piece of music at 3:27, it sounds familiar??

  • does any body know where i can find the part where lyla and loius are in two different places but they get drawn to each tihers melody. sorry if sound confusing...

  • i think the part ur talking abotu is called Something Inside XD

  • does anyone knows the name of the melody performed in the cello in 1:42. please please let me know :)

Love the movie and Jonathan Rhys Meyers is Awesome..

  • Elegry cello concerto in e minor by Edward Elgar.

It should be in the related video section.

  • I luv this movie i only saw it once but i want it sooooo bad it's really really really really good

  • i <3 THIS MOVIE!!!!! the music is in the heart. know it by heart. know it by mind

  • And right after they fade to black, someone shouts that he cribbed the melody from "Moondance" he is booed off the stage, and he becomes an alcoholic.

I know it was relevant to the plot, but I always wondered how that would go over in real life.

  • i have see the film for 2 hours on dvd and i have miss this beautiful sounds...I ♥ THIS MOVIE!!!!

  • Jamia Simone Nash is the little girl singing at 7:02 - 8:00 Is actually a very talented and accomplished child singer and actually sung most of her parts in this movie with out much audio perfection involved.

  • True Dat

  • she appeared in an episode of younge and the restless

  • love this part.:(

  • aww, freddie's so cute :)

  • what's the song lewis is singing?

  • its a song made for the movie

  • I think the song was made for the movie.

In the video description it says it is called "Something Inside".

  • Why wouldn't Keri just vibrate the first note of the Elgar? :( It was so tacky to hear wonderful vibrato on the recording, and at the same time as seeing her stationary fingers.

  • yeah this stuff makes me cry.. wish i was Lewis in this movie

  • very good!

  • this movie's really inspirational! it made me want to make my own music when i first saw tihs. it made me cry! The music made me cry! waahh!!!! LOVE IT!

  • I love this movie.. and yes it is the music of the heart... u can feel the reall good spirit inside of the music... lovely when she start to play and the guy start to sing... and then the grande finalli.. the boy giving us a show of emotion!! fuck! perfect this movie! fo real!

  • Mark Mancina did the August's Rapsody,

you just can't say, you didn't loved this movie, you can't say... !

  • elgar cello concerto! <3

    she's bad at faking it. . .

  • even if that's true, so what? the point isn't how well she plays, it's how she plays. it's the fact that she connecting with her instrument and all the music around her.

  • lololololololololol.

she did make it look good, but i thought it would be great if she did some yo-yo ma moves XDD

and i love the song she plays

by elgar, i'm tryin to play it on my cello <333333333

  • My Favorite Part Was 7:02

  • I thought he was aan eleven year old actor when i saw this

  • I love this movie! It shocked me to find out that Freddie Highmore plays August, know that in real life, Freddie was 15 when he made this.

  • Yea, but he doesn't look like he was 15.

It's great actor in the amazing movie! :-) I love both :-)

  • I know. He could have past for a nine or ten year old too.

  • this movie was amazing,

  • dude that girl is beautiful!

  • i really like her dress...

  • pleas upluad this movie, this is nice movie..... thanks

  • i can't figure out what that one spinning instrument is, that make the sound of the wind. . . >.>

  • the music is composed mostly by mark mancina

  • August Rhapsody

  • ...Beautiful. It is just beautiful.

  • 5:10 - 5:18

i'm a cellist as well, and i'm impressed by the articulation.

sorry, but the actress cellist person is faking it pretty badly.

however, the person performing at his concert is legit.

although.. this might only stand out to one who personally plays the instrument.

  • yea...i'm also a cellist...she mauls elgar pretty bad...

  • the part of 3:30-3:34 always makes me cry

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    LOVE THIS MOVIE.

im in love with music, and this is a great inspiration for me to learn to play more instruments.

  • why'd you have to end it there! waaaaaaa! =(

  • Who ever wrote the music for this movie is a genious.

  • omg, Freddie Highmore (the boy who plays august rush) is so cute

did u no he is one of the very feu actorse to ave played in over 20 movies under the age of 16 <3

  • It was an awesome movie

  • great !!!!

  • i love it.

    love the music.

    love everything.

im a dancer and were doing a dance on pointe to music from this . its amazing

  • Amazing. This whole piece took about a year and a half to compose and deliver. You truly have to make music more important than yourself.

  • where can i found the movie ?!!!!!!!

  • ooft

    elgars cello concherto

    offt jst love it

and u gota love this movie

    =P

  • The thing that i like the most about this movie is that it shows that amazing potential can be found in the most unlikely placed. The music is definitely the key to the movie though if you are a music junkie like myself then this movie just hits all the right chords.

  • I totally agree :D.

  • "Run August run!" repeated for several times sounds like "Run Forrest run!" in Forrest Gump. My best movies really, very moving

  • August Rush from "Evan ?" like Sam Waters from "Oliver Twist"

  • It's not supposed to be close to his actual name. It's just a stage name he gets about halfway through the movie.

  • one of the best movies I've ever seen. It takes a bit from Forrest Gump and a bit from Oliver Twist. If you have watched these two wonderful movies, u'll know what I mean

  • 08:01 - 08:39

I hear a bit of "Moondance" mixed into the music. Remarkable.

  • I want to hear the instrumental music that he was playing in julliards when the crazy man i forget the name interrupt him

  • it sucks because so many people feel the music, and I mean truly feel the music, but are unable to express themselves to full potential. It's crushing for the student.

  • the harmony and the music touch my heart everytime.

  • i really like her dress...

  • I'm surprised noone shouted "It's a kid" when he first came out

  • y stop here u should keep uploading clips

  • this is the most heart warming musical movie so far that i have seen. Freddie does an AMAZING job, the best so far.

  • I love how they blend the music at 2:00. Excellent soundtrack.

  • 2:00 link, sorry.

  • it always looks like the wife/mother/cellist is blind.

i don't know why.. she always has a sort of blind expression.

  • I love this movie so much. Jonathan Rhy is so find looking man.

  • I love this movie, i can see why critics didnt like how the characters were presented but its still so heart warming that it makes up for it; let alone the AMAZING music.

i love the ending but i always thought: What happens next?

Does anyone else think it would be a bit awkward for Meyer's character to find out that after 10 years of searching for is love that all of a sudden he has a son too?

  • Not after the scene in the park where they play "Dueling Guitars." For just a moment, a look of fatherly protection comes over him at the end. I imagine their bond sealing with the three, each, retelling their own stories of how music became their one hope of ever finding each other. It's such a beautiful story.

  • I love the girls singing...it's so amazing.......

  • I think it would have been awesome if at the end when he turns around to see his parents, he said "I've been waiting for you" XD

  • ew...no hell no that's a thumbs down for me...

  • seriously if he did that it would just sound terrible and you know it...

  • the musik made me cry, it so beautiful.

  • music but yeah...first time i saw it...it just touched my heart

  • I can think what I want

  • no its not. man up.

  • Here katie your part starts at 1:23 i bet you could play better..

  • August Rush is one of my favorite movies. I watched it at least 5 times when my family rented it and I still plan to actually buy the movie just because it's one of those that I can watch over and over again, but thanks for this, it has tided me off for now (I really can't afford the DVD right now)

  • I ADORE that glissando into the melody at 1:59-2:01

  • Uh, I didn't see the movie. ;__; I'm sorry.

  • -_- ? neeeh

  • ._.! Myuu

  • wtf, they ARE his parents! thats the whole point!! 0.o

  • They are his parents. It was a little confusing for me, but she had him, but the dad forged (faked) her signature to basically send him to an orphanage. The guy is trying to find the woman, the woman is trying to find her son, and the son is playing the music so his parents will hear him and know he's there.

    ~Wolfy

  • Thanks very much! :D I only saw the last half of the movie just today, so that kind of cleared it up a bit. It's really a good movie.

  • wow, that is all that i can say. the music from this movie is beyond amazing!

  • i love this movie !

  • best part in it is 8:54 to end the whole thing is good thats just my favorite part though

  • is there a bit of moondance in the rush rhapsody?

    xoxo

  • This must almost be the best movie I have ever seen!

  • August Rush made me cry. :] A good cry, though. Haha. :] I love this movie, and I love watching the movie. It's fantastic, and very inspirational.

  • me too...

    it had everything in it...

it was inspiring, original, even a love story...

i wish they didnt cut the ending so short. i wanted to see them adopt evan/august and get married and all that ...

  • OMG! Freddie Highmore is so cute. I want to see more of his movies.

  • charlie and the chocolate factory

  • oh man I just cried like a little baby during the peak of this song. I was skeptical about the movie, but damn. I gotta see it.

  • that little girl can sing!!

  • jonathan is sooo cute :D <3

    omg!

  • Oh no, I personally think that this is a very good movie. The storyline is excellent, the music is superb, and the acting is some of the best I've seen from these actors. =) so yes, it is very worth watching.

  • i haven't seen the movie but i've watched the parts 1-3. is the movie boring besides the musical parts? be honest :P

the music is amazing tho! and i'll most likely buy it no matter what anyone says but i'm just curious.

  • the movie is awesome!

  • When i watched this film, at the end when he turns around i thought they were gunna meet but then the darn credit came up.!, i want them to make a #2.

  • i was just wondering did they make a cd sound track for the movie?

  • They did, but I'm not sure if it's out yet... I havent found it yet, but I also haven't been actively looking. XP
