I watched this game. I'm an FSU fan, so I'm not really objective, but those refs were AWFUL. I couldn't believe UF escaped with that game because of them. I usually try to side with the refs because everyone makes mistakes, but in this game the "mistakes" were very one-sided.
You know what I think is funny is how so many people seem to know the rules better than the officials that had to completely read the rule books, complete a training program and take a test, which I'm pretty sure everyone else has not. Now I'm not saying that excuses anyone from stupidity but officials are human and they make mistakes. Some officials are bad I agree, I just think people don't try to understand how hard it can be to officiate and make a split second decision on any given play.

This is a judgement call. The rule here is that the DB can ONLY contact the WR or impede his progress IF they are both playing and competing for the ball. When the DB first contacts the WR, it appears he has his back to the ball so my judgement would be, he's playing the WR which means FLAG.
Several of the referees were Florida alum and they were also banned from reffing for a whole two weeks or so which was more of a publicity stunt by the governing body to calm the masses about the cheating scare---by the way that was cheating. Just as the Italian Serie A team, Juventus, was relegated for match fixing, this Florida team should have been as well. Too bad SEC + ESPN were too busy suckin Tebows dick for money. Football was ruined for me that day, when cheating was accepted as norm.
That was Florida's homecoming, and at that point had Florida lost to Arkansas (which they would have had the ref's not been on Florida's side), then Florida's and Tebow's "perfect season" + heisman candidacy would have all been ruined. Combine this with the fact that Florida and Tebow are the SEC's poster team/child who earns ESPN + SEC millions, and profits would have been seriously hurt, given the extreme commercialization and marketing efforts by these two groups centered around Florida.

I saw the game and I have watched endless amounts of highlights. this view is pretty good. The Personal Foul call was complete bullshit. That is understood by everone. This Passing Interferrence call could have gone either way. Yes the DB was handsey but the ball was well under thrown and could have been called an uncatchable ball. Ball was underthrown DB was not face guarding as he flips around at the last second to bat ball away. That is a game changing penalty when an announcer calls out the refs it's usually for good reason being that they aren't suppose to do that. Arkansas was the better team in that stadium last week people just care too much about protecting their "BCS Darlings."

Not pass interference. The AK db was not looking for the ball, but he wasn't pushing the UF receiver. He was just in between him and the ball. That one was pretty bad.
I really don't see the problem with this call. The DB made no attempt to find the ball and was pushing the WR. The WR could have slowed up and at least gotten a hand on the ball. There were some other rotten calls in this game, but this was not one of them. Seems like, and rightfully so, this game is getting nit-picked for every call, non-call.

No question about it. The refs can be bought just like anyone. Whats the downside? They got suspended but they made have made much more on the spread. They are thinking, we only got suspended at least they can't prove a gambling connection.

CLEARLY pass interference.... DB did not turn around until too late.... Florida WR could not stop to get the ball due to the shove and momentum of the DB.... thus an easy call. I ref for FHSAA and that is a easy call.

That was a good call. Anyone who knows football will tell you that. Arkansas' #26 was pushing Deonte Thompson out of the way that is PI people and it's not an offensive PI because Deonte did not make contact with Arkansas' #26 until the ball passed the defender. Look at the play again. Little shove by defender#26 turns around. He doesn't even know where the ball was. And when the ball passes him get pulled down by WR#6. That was the right call.
at 0:14 look at #26 head turned looking for the ball. Of course hes only looking as the WR is anticipating the ball. Knowing that in the endzone the QB usually throws it to the outside shoulder to keep it away from the defender the DB is looking for it toward the corner or the endzone. Finally realizing at the last split second the ball is under thrown he does a full 180 to bat it down.
from 0:12 to 0:13 he puts his hands on #6 first, gives a little shove, realizes ball is under thrown and then does the 180 and then gets pulled down by WR#6. That shove before turning around is PI, besides in college it's better to commit a pi than to allow a TD.
While this game was sloppy overall in terms of flags and stuff, that was an actual Pass Interference call, no question. Its just too bad Arkansas was just one FG away from sending that into overtime, would've been an even better game. Best of luck to the Hogs for the rest of the season.

i was at the game, and could tell you two non calls that benefited arkansas: passing interference on david nelson that would've given the gators a 1st and goal (gators ended up not scoring on that drive and had to punt); a passing interference on cooper on that final FG drive (he made the clutch catch that kept the drive alive, but the defender was all over him throughout). mallett was taunting the whole game. there are always missed calls and questionable calls. ARK fans need to move on...

Arky didn't get hosed. That PI call was the correct call, the PF was debatable. Bottom line is Arky got 4 fumbles, missed 2 FG's and was 3 for 15 on 3rd down conversions. If they had taken catre of business no 4th quarter officials calls would've mattered. The Gators made the plays down the stretch and the Hogs didn't.

Terrible call...a receiver doesn't have the right to the space the CB is already occupying. You can't dive through the CB or safety make a catch...just like a CB/safety can't do that to a receiver. Amazing how Florida gets all the bs calls. This was one of 3 on the final drive that pretty much handed florida the win...
The defender was not playing the ball at the time he puts his left hand to the right shoulder of the receiver. He pushes on the shoulder and then turns around to act like he's going to play the ball. It's the way defenders are taught to do it. Foul but act like your playing the ball. The other point here is that the defender was beat big time and he had no idea the ball was under thrown. And you fans need to understand...announcers have no clue.

I saw the game and I have watched endless amounts of highlights. this view is pretty good. The Personal Foul call was complete bullshit. That is understood by everone. This Passing Interferrence call could have gone either way. Yes the DB was handsey but the ball was well under thrown and could have been called an uncatchable ball. I don't think this could have been Offensive. I think that should have either been a No call or they made the right one. But what do you expect. your in the swamp.

Ball was underthrown DB was not face guarding as he flips around at the last second to bat ball away. That is a game changing penalty when an announcer calls out the refs it's usually for good reason being that they aren't suppose to do that. Arkansas was the better team in that stadium last week people just care too much about protecting their "BCS Darlings."

I really don't see the problem with this call. The DB made no attempt to find the ball and was pushing the WR. The WR could have slowed up and at least gotten a hand on the ball. There were some other rotten calls in this game, but this was not one of them. Seems like, and rightfully so, this game is getting nit-picked for every call, non-call.

Bad throw, but not bad call. I'm an AR fan, It was catchable, and he was all over that receiver. The personal foul. yes horrible call. Alot of questionable missed calls. Florida may have better talent, but Arkansas was better that game and it's hard to see that taken away. Tebo is good though. I followed him since the Mustain hype, and Tebo was good. Even in highschool, with a MUCH worse team than springdale, he was awsome. But florida DOES have the talent. It sucks to see them helped like that.

Horrible call. In college ball there is no "face guarding" call (which this guy wasn't even doing). You don't have to "turn to look at the ball" on D. It's not the CBs fault the ball was underthrown. What's he supposed to do, move out of th way so the WR can get to the ball unimpeded?

Whats so bad is that for one this wasnt p.i. and two if by chance this was p.i. then they should have called p.i. on the florida guy when Tebow threw a pass the next drive in the end zone that was gonna be picked off by Arkansas and the Florida guys had to climb his back to keep him from it. 3 horrible calls. Not going to say cost Arkansas the game but it sure didnt help them out any. Refs need to call it the same both ways. Real evident they didnt in this game.

Arkansas' #26 was pushing Deonte Thompson out of the way that is PI people and it's not an offensive PI because Deonte did not make contact with Arkansas' #26 until the ball passed the defender. I love it when people see what they wanna see and cannot admit that the better team on that field was Florida. Instead, they blame the refs. Love it.

Look at the play again. Little shove by defender#26 turns around. He doesn't even know where the ball was. And when the ball passes him get pulled down by WR#6. That was the right call.

at 0:14 look at #26 head turned looking for the ball. Of course hes only looking as the WR is anticipating the ball. Knowing that in the endzone the QB usually throws it to the outside shoulder to keep it away from the defender the DB is looking for it toward the corner or the endzone. Finally realizing at the last split second the ball is under thrown he does a full 180 to bat it down.

from 0:12 to 0:13 he puts his hands on #6 first, gives a little shove, realizes ball is under thrown and then does the 180 and then gets pulled down by WR#6. That shove before turning around is PI, besides in college it's better to commit a pi than to allow a TD.

While this game was sloppy overall in terms of flags and stuff, that was an actual Pass Interference call, no question. Its just too bad Arkansas was just one FG away from sending that into overtime, would've been an even better game. Best of luck to the Hogs for the rest of the season.

i was at the game, and could tell you two non calls that benefited arkansas: passing interference on david nelson that would've given the gators a 1st and goal (gators ended up not scoring on that drive and had to punt); a passing interference on cooper on that final FG drive (he made the clutch catch that kept the drive alive, but the defender was all over him throughout). mallett was taunting the whole game. there are always missed calls and questionable calls. ARK fans need to move on...

i'm sorry, i don't see what the controversy is all about. between the 0:12-0:13 mark defender puts his hands on deonte before turning around to look at the ball. furthermore, he makes no move towards the ball/no play towards it; he is essentially pushing the receiver away from the ball. and i don't understand all the "fixed" game comments... for one thing, the refs didn't cause arkansas to miss 2 field goals and wide open wrs... for another, bad calls happen in EVERY game. welcome to football

Do you see where the ball hits the ground? The receiver would have caught the ball if he was run into by the DB. Yea, Im a Gator fan but I also played DB in college. He made contact while the receiver was trying to come back and get the ball. EASY CALL.........!

the db made contact with the reciever before turning around,that is why it was called...if he doesn't turn around and doesn't make contact...there would be no foul....if he turns around and then makes contact...there is no foul...i watched the game and thought it was a bad call but after looking up the rule...i can see why it was called.

It has to be catchable to be PI and that ball was so badly underthrown that it was below the DB's waist when it went by him.

wow thrillbilly, understand the rules of football before you post something huh. Its not the fact the defender never turned to look for the ball. Its he clearly was blocking the WR from making an attempt at the ball while not trying to break up the pass. This is the rule in COLLEGE football.

The interference came when the offensive back pulled down BOTH of the DEFENDER's arms. Watch it again. BOTH players have the exact same "right" to the ball. YOU get UR rules straight HOMER.

For those of you saying this is the correct call or that it is even debatable. You evidently feel that the defender should have moved out of the way in order to give the receiver a clear path to the ball.

Those saying FU made plays down the stretch(Bazz) they sure did...and the refs HELPED didn't they? The PI call then a bogus call on the Razorback d-lineman then a NO CALL of an offensive PI...all BS! Its easy to say UofA left points on the field but the SEC refs played a part in the game too.

Arky didn't get hosed. That PI call was the correct call, the PF was debatable. Bottom line is Arky got 4 fumbles, missed 2 FG's and was 3 for 15 on 3rd down conversions. If they had taken catre of business no 4th quarter officials calls would've mattered. The Gators made the plays down the stretch and the Hogs didn't.

Arky did get hosed. Anyone who says that PF was "debatable" is clearly a Florida homer. The guy for Arkansas on the PF play was just defending himself against a Gator OL blocking him 15 yards away from the play. I guess the correct thing to do in that situation is to stand there lifeless and get decleated so you don't draw a flag. Either the SEC officials are dirty or they are just inept. Neither option is very good frankly. I guess you will defend their celebration call against AJ Green too?

Terrible call...a receiver doesn't have the right to the space the CB is already occupying. You can't dive through the CB or safety make a catch...just like a CB/safety can't do that to a receiver. Amazing how Florida gets all the bs calls. This was one of 3 on the final drive that pretty much handed florida the win...

The defender was not playing the ball at the time he puts his left hand to the right shoulder of the receiver. He pushes on the shoulder and then turns around to act like he's going to play the ball. It's the way defenders are taught to do it. Foul but act like your playing the ball. The other point here is that the defender was beat big time and he had no idea the ball was under thrown. And you fans need to understand...announcers have no clue.

Sorry, this is a good call and the entire reason that teams call -- not that this was on purpose -- the underthrown fly route: because if the offensive player even SEEMS to attempt to come back for the ball and gets contacted/impeded, it is, BY RULE, defensive pass interference. Sucks? Yes, and I graduated from Arkansas, but this was the right c
