  • HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH MADONNA E' UGUALE! ANCHE LA VOCE XD :O

  • This is very funny! Thanx for posting!

(I remember the 'event' being parodied. I can see the humor now but back then only those 'not with it' would dare to laugh!)

We were all a bit full of ourselves back then. Thought we knew it all.

  • The first-ever bathe-in. :-D

  • Heil Beatler! :-)

  • I was talking to my Dad about this scene, and when I reminded him the Yoko character was a Nazi he couldn't stop laughing

  • "a depressed conference held in his shower"

  • John and Yoko found this very funny so were didnt feel insulted in any way. John Felt a bit uncomfortable about the Nazi connection but eventually got the joke there.

  • @allyplumb well it's quite fitting since most Beatle fans equate Yoko to a "nazi" who broke up the Beatles. i think they give her too much power. the boys most likely had it up to here with each other, and who are we to judge? :))

  • Hats off to the pre-fab four!

  • @DJJuanitoFresh now with more bleach!

  • @Rawego Hey, remember the summer of free lunch?

  • @DJJuanitoFresh but of course! how could i forget??? the summer of hits like All You Need Is Lunch and Can't Cater Love first performed in New Deli... those were the salad days!

  • Nails the accent decently

  • This is so absolutely funny, I can hardly keep my eyes dry. This is parody at its best, somehow even revealing. I wonder if John Lennon saw this and what his reaction was. Of course the figure of Chastity was very provoking for Yoko Ono...

  • @espressoschmeckt Yes, I thought the same thing. Everyone knows that McCartney hated the Rutles and wanted to sue them, but Lennon loved the Rutles. When some Rutles documentry was sent to Lennon for viewing before it aired, Lennon refused to give it back because he liked it so much. But this scene with Chastity being a Nazi...I wonder if Lennon "got it"? I'm sure he probebly did.

  • "Because basically we've talked it over, Chastity and Myself, and we've come to the conclusion that civilization was no more than a well managed sewage system"

  • John & Yucko preparing for ´buggerism ´ ?

  • So well thought out in the humorous parallels! ...Because Japan was an axis power during WWII, and its modern political structure from the 1870s borrowed ideas after [pre-Nazi era] Germany's. Yoko's family came from this new, post-Shogunate elite - her grandfather was among the few that propelled Japan's financial growth into the 20th century, bankrolling the emerging zaibatsus. But she herself walked away from performativity of her family's expectations, taking a flight into the arts" instead.

  • @Merseyrock I kept expecting a joke- but youve obviously researched your facts very well-and I LOVE being taught something interesting-I believe I will have to get out my Rutles DVD and watch it again-

  • @TheEDZEPPELINBAND I´m pleased to hear, TheEd...thank you! Of course - to end all those facts with a punch-line would make the perfect comment. (I´m not that witty, though ;-) ...Then again, another bit of trivia you might find interesting. I read on wikipedia that John had once seen a picture of Yoko´s great-grandfather [not grandfather!...I correct myself above] to whom I allude to, above - and casually remarked, ¨He looks like me!¨ Yoko replied, ¨Don´t say that ' he was assassinated!¨

  • You can tell both Nasty and Chastity are about to break out in fits of uncontrollable laughter at the end of the clip!!!

  • Destructo ART!!!!! ;)

  • Even in the Nazi uniform, she still looks better than Yoko.

  • i think when chastity was hanging out at the 'Let it Rot' sessions,...it just destroyed the band ,...it was sad ,..it had to end ...

  • Lennon did love this film. The people who think the idea behind this is to slag off Yoko are missing the point. What is being done is making fum of the people who actually slag her off!

  • The acsent is perfect, sounds just like John

  • LOL, this is funny. Making fun of how Yoko and John's "unique" ideas.

  • Happy 70th birthday, Ron Nasty!

  • I love how close they both come to cracking up during this

  • i was original drummer but got caught doing barrys mum

  • lol Yoko is a Nazi :p

  • They are real I saw them in '64 in The Majestic at Hull. Stig gave me his plectrum, Dirk McQuickly was shallow tosser

  • I cant find this movie anywhere, it looks hilarious though

  • @flobsterlobster it is available on amazon -"all you need is cash"

  • "She talked about her plan of dropping artists out of planes" lol

  • This is the funniest thing i have ever seen!!!!

  • If you take the Y ,the o,the k and the o out of yoko, and replace them with five random letters,it's possible to get h-i-t-l-e-r............or maybe nothing at all.......

  • hahahah i need this movie

  • hahahaha!!!omg, this is so funny cause john actually says that kinda stuff like "well,we talked about it ...."or "were getting wet.in a shower.":)

  • "Chastity who's father had invented world war two"lol..

  • LMFAO

  • JL DID love this whole movie- i ws lucky enough to meet Yoko in NY a few yrs ago and she told me he thought it ws hilarious

  • Lennon allegedly loved this. Innes nails circa-69 Lennon. Absolutely deadin- you can tell that Innes and Gwen Taylor are stifling their own laughter here.

A legend that will last a lunchtime!

  • Ah, the 70s...can't get away with humor like this anymore.

  • Oh my god lmao XD

  • This video was made and filmed in Leavenworth, WA to avoid reaction by jews and non-whitesand that person in the Nazi Uniform was actually Ronald Reagan, an experienced actor who became Adolf Hitler #2!!!! The Pretentoius Gallery is actually in Leavenworth, WA and that Chasity girl may have been a resident of Leavenworth, WA

  • @SoldierUSArmy:

    You are joking right?

FYI, this is a parody movie about the Beatles, mostly shot in London England aroud 1978. Ronald Reagan is not in this picture, or within at least 3,000 miles of it.

There IS no Pretentious Gallery, it's a parody of modern art galleries. Chastity is not a real person either. Do you not get the humo(u)r? Is it a bit too hot where you're stationed and you've gone Deolali?

  • @anonUK -wrong its for real-i was reporter who asked why they were doing this

  • Chastity remains to this day a pompous, pretentious self publicist whose musical output with The Ceramic Hitler Band, founded in 1969, was dire. The only song of theirs that anyone knows is Happy Easter (Lent is Over)

  • They met and announced their engagement - next day! Classic. I've been a fan of this film since it first came out back in 78. Much more entertaining than The Beatles Anthology!

  • Getting wet, in a shower. Haaahaaaa. Sounds exactly like John too.

  • XD Sounds so much like John too.

  • "What are you doing?"

"We are getting wet. In a shower."

  • Hilarious! I heard that John loved this but Paul was pissed for some time about the Rutles and George's fun with the Beatles history (hype).

  • HOw could JOhn approve of the Nazi reference to Yoko? Inthe 70s the nazi thing wasn't as serious maybe?

  • @mistersmith6000 no, probebly the Nazi thing was more serious in the 70's. But this is "British humor"...nothing is off limits.

  • I think it portays how demonized she was by fans and the press, like "her father invented the world war 2",brilliant!

  • I think deep down John knew Yoko had a Nazi-like personality and that this satire was dead on.

  • lol...actually when you play Yoko backwards on a 78rpm it says, Nazi, Nazi!

  • Chastity whos father had invented world war 2 :D:DD::D

  • I wonder what John thought of his... honestly. :D

  • @brianpadraic John thought it was funny! In fact, when all this Rutles material was sent to him (for approval), he liked it so much he refused to send it back! George liked it all too, he thought it was funny jab at them "in a loving way" It was Paul who disapproved, and John warned them that Paul might 'try and sue them". Pauls wife Linda thought it was all funny, and he eventually changed his mind about it.

  • XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD

  • Pure genius! God bless Neil Innes! :D

  • were getting wet in a shower because chastity n i talked it over and civilization is a giant sewage system of plumping all over the world classic 5 STARS

  • Poetic!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa

  • Oh wow...Now I need to see this whole movie

  • Culd some1 pls upload the whole film

  • "Whose father had invented World War II..." Oh dear God this is brilliant XDDDDD

  • Wow, that guys sounds a lot like Lennon.

  • The way Neil Innes says "the world" is pure Lennon.

  • Like any good Rutles fan, I HATE CHASTITY......and I think that's proved by the fact that NOBODY listens to the group she and Nasty founded in 1969, The Ceramic Hitler Band

  • @TomthatiscalledTom Oh them they were actually a cracking band!

  • real good humour!!

  • I think I'm gonna hurt myself laughing.

  • Absolutely brilliant! I couldn't stop laffing!

  • This is hilarious, I could not stop laughing! This is a great spoof of the Beatles. Is the whole movie on Youtube? I'm going to search for it now. This is marvelous, so funny!

  • you should just get the vhs tape :D i have it!

  • @CJKstudios why not buy the dvd while your at it? haha.

  • her Destructo-Art`s finest work was,of course, the breakup of "THE RUTLES".She was reported to have said"What?"Warhol was to throw away his soupcans in an effort to jump on the Destructo-Art bandwagon. We can see the beginings of Punk Rock in her work.

  • Nasty could never out-weird Yoko,but still,nice try !

  • It WAS done in the 70's, in fact John adored the movie.

  • Thanks for the update.

  • This was just before Nasty and Chastity founded the Ceramic Hitler Band in 1969. Their albums were unadulterated shite. Give Peas a Chance and Happy Easter (Lent is Over) are the only CeramicHitler Band song anyone knows, the latter assaulting our ears every March-April just to sell choccolate eggs. Nice one Ron.

  • lmao, yoko as a nazi?! XD

  • is there anything plumbing can't do?

  • Hate you Chastity! Cynthia was better looking! LOL! :)

  • Chastity broke up the Rutles...yep, she did.

  • cherchez la femme yup

  • Chastity was the original "Goose Step Mama"!

    Shower Power, Man...Shower Power...

"If you are goin' to San Francisco. Be sure to take some frequent showers there..."

  • @rabidgoldfish65 I disagree. While Chastity didn't help matters, the departure of Leggy Mountbatton was the event that led to the breakup of The Rutles. Without Leggy, they were never the same.

  • So what are you doing?

"we're getting wet. In a shower."

  • Now THAT is funny!

  • OMG i LOVE THIS! :D

    we're getting wet in a shower...lol

  • Comment removed

  • Nasty likely caused the disintegration of The Rutles. Perhaps if Nasty's infatuation with the rebellious Chastity could have been channeled into more positive contributions, The Rutles would still be around today. Hey, if the Stones and Keith Richards are still performing, why couldn't The Rutles? The Rutles filled the musical potholes that the Beatles blindly drove over.

  • OMG lol

  • Nasty and Chastity went on to found the awful Ceramic Hitler Band which produced alot of pretentious tripe. In fact the only well known Ceramic Hitler Band song was the teeth grinding single.....Happy Easter (Lent is Over) in 1972. Some of Nasty's solo stuff is alright though... my favourites were

    Impassion

    Dream No 233687534098765224579Q

    Stand on Me

    Beautiful, beautiful goy

  • Come on Nasty had way more songs then that! Give Beets a Chance? Explosive Comic? Burnt Chicken? Gimme some Food? Much better then Dirk's Career in the 70's I mean: Sand in the Sun Aunt Sisilia(Lady Hefter) Senior's Prom Let her eat Pie Moving On All good Hits, but I still like Nasty Better. I Also think Stig was better then Dirk. But that's another day.
  • @TomthatiscalledTom there is a rumor that chastity was the driving force behind the hit, 'HEY JEWS'

  • holy crap!!! lol!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TomthatiscalledTom Tushy!! LOL

  • @TomthatiscalledTom Impassion? Don't you mean "Imitation Song"?

  • @TomthatiscalledTom I agree that the Ceramic Hitler Band released plenty of mediocre material as the 70's dragged on. But even you have to admit that Nasty's performance of "Rod" from the 1st album (Ceramic Hitler Band), when he sings "I don't believe in Rutles" had to put a chill up your spine.

  • @TomthatiscalledTom "I was the waitress/But now/I'm Ron" from the song "Rod" really told me that the Rutles were over.

  • @TomthatiscalledTom

    Oh no....it's always those bloody women again,I say, put'm in a bag & send'm to The Fili-penis.

  • @TomthatiscalledTom Hilarous!

Other hits were "Whatever gets you through the door" and "Mayan games"

  • "we're getting wet" ^^

  • "Whose father invented World War Two."

Haha, that's good. :) I need to find this whole film.

  • You do!!! You'll love it. John Belushi and Bill Murray are in it too, as well as Harrison himself!

  • John Belushi played Nasty's agent (or producer, I can't remember which) and Bill Murray played DJ (Bill) Murray the K which was based on a real-life DJ named Murray the K!

  • @Elric33239: Both agent and producer-his name was Ron Decline.

  • @Neville6000 Thanks.

  • And Harrison played an on-the-spot interviewer wearing a wig and a false beard! I had to see it twice to spot him, he was THAT good!

  • I heard his voice ;)

  • This would make a GREAT show on broadway.

  • the whole film is so hilarious!!!

  • This video confuses me.

  • he's really got john down

  • at a press conference in Nasty's showers...

  • ROFL LMAO LOLOLOLOL

  • lmao this is too funny :D

  • Chastity Nasty! Now THERE's a name.

"We came to the conclusion that civilization was nothing more than an effective sewage system".

  • ..."whose father invented world war II"... oh my god that's funny

  • He nailed John....Gotta love the way Eric does that T.V. reporter voice.

  • neil innes is awesome! the way he says "the world" at the end. Just like John Lennon

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA...Yoko a nazi!!!I knew it all along!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is the narrator from monty python? i think it is!

  • Yeah it's Eric Idle. Also plays Dirk McQuickly (Paul) in the movie along with a few other parts.

  • I almost pee when I saw this for the first time, hahahaha!!!!

  • lol wat r u doing? we are getting wet... in the shower

  • LOL this is one of the funniest clips ive ever seen. All You need is Cash is one of the most brilliant satires in cinema. I am a huge beatles fan and all 4 of them were alive during the film and they enjoyed it too.

  • You do realise that Eric Idle and Neil Innes wrote this- it's not just satire, it's a deliberately absurd parody. Anyone can hopefully see that if it's taking the proverbial, it's doing it with affection.

Yes, ggsua, your guy lost in 1968 and Nixon won that one. That's regrettable, but it's ancient history. If you don't like this sort of comedy, pass onto something else.

  • this is so awesome and funny!!

  • wow, his voice looks like john's

  • .... it's because of the trousers.

  • And his face and hair sound just like him!

  • 'whose father had invented ww2'

    hahaha!

  • "What are you doing?"

    "We're getting wet."

  • yeah shower power!

  • They got together and founded the Ceramic Hitler Band

  • Nasty and the Nazi

    got to like it

  • HAHAHA!!! "pretentious gallery" HAHAHAHA!!! "drop artists out of planes" HAHA!!

Neil Innes is a genious!!! this is hilarious and I love Eric Idle's commentary!

  • In the directors commentry to this, Eric notes that John and Yoko were impressed with the Rutles. Eric was the python closeest to the Beatles especially george so was using reliable information. ps.the woman playing yoko is gwen taylor who plays @aunt peg@ in Heartbeat. She was highly regarded by the pythons and also appeared in Ripping yarns and the life of brian " dont pick yer nose"..

  • And don't forget she was Mrs. Mountbatten-Leggy's mum!

    Talkin' about them trousers!

  • I love how they almost crack up at the end.

  • The woman playing Chastity also plays Leggy's mom. "Well their trousers..they were...tight"

  • it's hilarious that they make yoko a nazi!

  • "At the pretentious museum in Soho..."

Oh man, this is too great. They are really burning on them.

  • Nasty is my favorite Rutle.

  • Ron Nasty Rules!!!

  • oxymoronic.

    haha.

    favorite movie.

  • LOL!!!! too funny! "Her plans to drop artists from planes!" ROTFLOL!

  • So funny.LMAO!

  • This is Great! XD 'were getting wet for peace!'

  • LOL Yoko's a Nazi

  • "Whose father invented WWII."

    xD

And holy crap, he sounds just like Lennon.

  • i wish i could find the 1000 feet of film video, heehee.

  • ROFL XD XD "We are getting wet, in a shower."

    Lmao!

  • nice 2 find out that chastity is leggys mum. i knew she was a young hot bird playin an old woman. the leggys mum bit has to be my fave bit. just her pronunciation of letter Ts at the end of words. an the way she knows its hillarious and is nearly craccking up all the way thru. maybe the mick jagger bits are as gud. but leggys mum rules.

  • theyre getting wet in a shower, for peace ♥

  • I Love this video! We are getting wet in shower! LOL!

  • Where is Stewie? I wanna know.

P.S. You know, the one from Family Guy.

  • LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL....great bit...

  • Did you know that "Chastity" (Ron Nasty's wife) is also Leggy Mountbattan's mother earlier in the film? She's the one talking about the Rutle's tight trowsers. It's Gwen Tayor.
