  • Omg, My Lap Top does the exact same and it has got really bad! How Do You Fix it? As i dont really pay money for a company too look at it and do nothing...any advice will help.

  • i will try it too :D

  • Yo, ive got the same problem, can you send me a tutorial about how to fix it? :)

  • @justpLyyy just take out the battery and remove all the the screws under it and all of the other screws on the side of the laptop, then just pop off the top part where the power button is, at the top left should be a silver cable, just put some electrical tape around it and it should work fine

  • @shortcarlos123 Thanks, i'll try it this weekend :)

  • Wow this is exactly what my laptop is doing and is driving me insane.. @shortcarlos can you share the service manual with me too? and also if you can give me some more pointer like tools used and stuff like that, I will really really appreciate it ..

  • Hello, I am a tinkerer ... the problem is simple, the GPU is the video of the motherboard, you have to do a reflow or Reballing ... and everything is 100% system. hello

  • @francomongillo it was just a simple cable that needed replacing. the cable was rubbing against the hinge when i opened/closed the laptop

  • Do a search for "chetbus", he did a video on how to fix it. I had the same problem, added a second cover for the video cable and now it is working like new. Hope this helps.

  • i fixed it by taping the video cables under the power button with electric tape, what causes the problem is the insulation wears after opening and closing the laptop so electric tape does the trick. This should fix it.

    hope this helps

  • This is driving me nuts. I got the same problem..

  • @Skopuningurin

  • I had this same problem and would have to tape the side panel of my screen to make it stop. I only had the computer 6 months. Closing the screen and lifting it back up also would fix it sometimes. Then on top of this I allowed a friend to use it one day for class and she apparently HIT it and cracked and broke my screen. Ive called about having it repaired but no one calls me back with an estimate.

  • OH MY GOD!! THIS IS THE EXACT PROBLEM WITH MINE!!!! Did you figure out how to fix it?? ... I dont have the money to get it fixed. Apparently Acer SUCKS.

  • @itsmeganf the only wat i figured to fix it without paying is to take the top part off where the power button is. Under to the top left is a silver and black cable, just move it around a bit and you should see the screen come back. its held in place by the screws underneath the battery and a few screws on either side of the battery ..hope this helps !

  • @itsmeganf i have this laptop. mine did that i droped it then it worked sence never happend again.

  • @XoXJohnKayXoX Same thing sort of happened to me, I closed the laptop really hard by accident, and i haven't had that problem in a couple days. hopefully its gone! :)

  • I am having the same problem. Can I please have the PDF Acer 6930 service manual? I paid enough for the computer, I don't want to pay 300 to get it fixed!

  • @Jettta81 just send me your email address in a personal message and ill send it right on over !

  • I had this problem.

What I did was to unplug the screens wires and then plugging them in again.

    It worked great!

  • check video cable for any "pinches" in the cable, any tears in the cable, "re-seated the video cable on both ends, wiggle, move the cable around to see if any difference. AND check the back in side of the plastic bezel that is last to snap on screen.. IF it has that silver aluminum tape that rests right on top of the power inverter,, peel it off, remove it

  • if it displays fine on external monitor, then it your screen OR video cable to the screen, OR loose video cable (check both end connections, screen & motherboard), OR power inverter. i did all everything, when apart there was no screen problem, when re-assembled HAD screen problem.

Aluminum tape I found on back of screen bezel over power inverter was causing some type or short or interference with this one. No problem since

  • emailed the Acer 6930 service guide to you bignewtfasho at: jnewton@ltu.edu

    11-30-10

  • did u get it fix ..?where can i get the guide to fixet .? i have the same problem call around and siad a cable may be loose or need replace it charge me 60 dollar max 40 dollars minimun thanx

  • Well the customers laptop has gone back, so photos or video I cannot do. There is a service guide on the dis-assembly of this Acer Aspire 6930, the display area mainly.

  • did yours have that aluminum tape on inside of bezel?

repaired many laptop screen,, have never seen this on any other screen bezel. but defenitely causing some type of interference, or short on the power inverter directly i suppose.

don't "smack" the screen that can damage for sure....

  • @donm315 i didnt have the tape...but it did have somthing protecting the wire the getting pinched or cut by the hinge.

  • sent it to you shortcarlos also a link that gives you a better direct pictures on how to remove. let me know if you get off, IF you have that aluminum tapae back there on the bezel,, this 6930 did

  • @donm315 thank you so much . i did everything and it worked...im sure ill have to open it again soon but its a risk im willing to take..once again thank you

  • @donm315 can i get a copy of that link? My screen is acting up too. Thanks email. jnewton@ltu.edu

  • correction, there are a total of 10 screws around the plastic lcd bezel, not 6, there are 4 more down below, bottom of bezel that you can't see unless you take screen assembly partially off. the 4 down below are covered with rubber blacks plugs,, the other 6 are coverd with some black tape insert.... pop these 10 "plugs: out with a small screw driver, then you'll see the screws........

  • @donm315 can you please make pictures or video to tell us how to do

    thanks

  • there is a guide on line for doing this,,,, about 10 or so screws on the back, screws in battery compartment, and the screws in the upper corners to the left and right of battery also. once these are out, the power board section above keyboard should pop out... once the power board is out, you then have easy access to the hinge screws to remove lcd from laptop,, then you can get the bezel off.....

in fact I have the pdf Acer 6930 service manual if anyone needs

  • @donm315 send it to me through email...shortcarlos123@yahoo.com

  • yes, the lcd plastic frame bezel this one is a bit tricky to get off, power board (speaker panel section) has to flip back and lcd hinge screws taken out. then lcd casing takne off the base of the laptop. then remove all screw (6) around the lcd frame & bezel. Once you have the bezel screws out, and the lcd itself off the laptop, the plastic bezel will pop off with a little work. if you don't take the lcd casing/lid off this one, you'll definetely break the plastic screen bezel

  • it's an alumimum piece of tape that acer had on this one here. pull off the screen bezel, look on the inside of the plastic bezel, if yours has piece of aluminum tape on the inside of bezel that sits right on top of the lcd power inverter when bezel is back inplace ...... take the aluminum tape OFF.

  • @donm315 i would take it off but i dnt want to break anything....the bezel is already broken a little on one side so i dont want to break it all the way.

  • i have the same problem but when mine flicker it have pink lines and when i smack it it stops... and i have the same laptop you have

  • @flowerss178 mine have been green and it stopped before when i smaked it but now its so much tht nothin stops it from doing it

  • @flowerss178 my warranty is up and i really want it fix bc when it happens it makes my skin crawl

  • @flowerss178 i already got mine fixed once nd it jus came back

  • @shortcarlos123 what i did i change the the monitor thingie to a lower on and i havent had problems but i plan on buying a vaio or mac... witch one should i get ?

  • @flowerss178 a mac !....they are way better and usually have less problems than any pc out there !....but if u dnt want to have to learn new software buy the vaio

  • @shortcarlos123 the mac it is! but there super high

  • @flowerss178 but they are deff worth it...i wuld be so jealous if u got one lol....any computers u dnt want i can have!? lmao

  • @flowerss178 lol if i had money i would buy you a mac too!

  • @flowerss178 no need to lie lol

  • @flowerss178 LOL im not but hopefullt i can get one

  • i have the same problem do you have any solution for this???

  • @dreadaon The only solution i have is to fix it. But if u still have the one year warranty, call Acer and they should fix it for you.
