  • How much did it cost you to make that tank.

  • Acrilyc and wood was purchased and built by me. All DIY!!

  • What kind of tank is that

  • Is a Beautiful aquarium :D

  • Beautiful !

  • If I where to hook up a filter rated for 20 gallons and had it running on a saltwater tank this size could i put a clown fish or two in?

  • Thats looks really good its just that i don't get why anyone would want something like that without FISH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can you post your messenger to talk to me about tanks?

  • what lighting system do you have on this tank?? i have a 2 and a half gallon and i just bought a 1x24 watt power compact fixture, would that be enough??

  • what I like best is the size of your coral colonies relative to overall tank size. it makes them all look bigger to be in such a small tank. everything is very clean, nice job! that halimeda will be a strong test for the system, if you can keep it 6 mos or longer in that nano I give you five stars in species support that stuff if finicky

  • how much did this tank run you?

and how much water do you change a week?

  • I just purchased the 3 gallon Pico. I was wondering... did you have to add a Protein Skimmer? Do you change out some of the water if you didn't? Also, the amount of current you have in your tank. Did you purchase something extra to help with it or is the current pump causing that much movement?

  • There is no protein skimmer. Weekly water changes are all you need to maintain good water quality. The current in the tank is only from the Aquaclear 40. There is no need for powerheads or additional pumps in this aquarium size.

  • Last questions. Do you have any 'live' fish in your system? Am I capable of having any one of the following : a small clown fish, snail, starfish or a single seahorse? I have a clear understanding that it may make maintaining the system that much more difficult. Do you have any experience with this?

  • He didnt make the aquarium, You can buy em on ebay for 20-60.00

    search pico or nano...

  • i have a small 3 gallon and i have heard it is one hard to have a salt water tank and 2 it is even harder with small amounts of water i have a 3 gallon acrilic and i like salt water but the only fih i have kept is goldfish and cost is a larg factor how mutch in equipment and stuff besids tank did this cost you

  • You are correct it is harder to have small tanks because changes in water parameters ocurs faster (temp, salinity, nutrient accumulation, etc).

Cost: tank$30, light $40, filter $40, live rock, sand, corals and fish $150 plus hydrometer, food, etc. $50. Total $310.

  • Fish??? lol what kind are they i did not see anyalso what kind of filter and light was it you used was there a calcium thing a protine skimer uv filter a normal standard filter in a 3 gallon was there a heater just wondering becuase i already have heaters and lights and a tank and stuff but it is most likly the wrong kind and not good enought for salt water thanks

  • not too too hard, but then again I hate having equipment in my nanos and picos so I always drill them and put all the shit in the sump... I guess its kinda cheating, but a 4 sides viewable nano with a closed loop style return is hard to beat in aesthetics.. much prettier than a tank with a huge hang on the back lol.. but I will give props to people that keep sps and clams in a pico with HOB filter. LEDs are getting cheaper!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • Yes it is a Kenya Tree coral. That is a frag from my 125 gallon.

  • I purchased the acrylic and it was glued using weld on. The wood work was done by a neighbour that has a furniture factory.

  • What kind of protein skimmer do you use? Where did you get it?

  • There is no protein skimmer in this cube. Just an AquaClear 40 filter filled with chaeto algae.

  • No anemones in this small tank. Anemones move all over the place and may end up in the intake of the filter.

  • If you guys are afraid of the water parameters, use the saltwater from the ocean(not near the beach). It's better i tell u because i have a sebae clownfish and he was happy and healthy. you dont need to buy a hydrometer becuz it's just wasting ur money.

  • It does'nt matter if the water is from the ocean or a salt mix it is difficult to keep parameters like temperature, salinity (from evaporation), nitrates from feeding in such a small tank.

  • i know, mate. but sometime, saltmix is nt good for the fish. Unless you try to keep the water very clean. Hmm, mybe next week i'll post my video. Okay? I'll show you my tank. By the way. Can i mix Clownfish(Nemo) with the sebae clownfish?

  • Yes that is true, Because of the small volume of water it is more difficult to keep water parameters stable. Don't let this take you from trying your idea.

  • amazing!!!

  • Nice but where are the fish?

  • and as a final question, what fish would do well in a 3 gallon reef?

  • certain gobies can live in tanks that small like yellow clown gobies and such.

  • hey i have another question for you, is the whole system in general loud or annoying, to the point where if you were in the room you couldent sleep? thanks again!!!

  • my question is about filtration, i am thinking of setting up a nano reef such as yours and i was wondering if i need a protien skimmer or is a filter with good flow enough, thanks!! btw nice tank.

  • A protein skimmer is a great filter for any reef tank. The problem is that for a 3 gallon tank there are no skimmers. There are hang on filter with a skimmer included like the Rio Nano Skimmer Hang on filter but they are ineficient because of the size. The best alternative is a filter with moderate flow and regular water changes.

  • you can also use a sump refugium; a small tank with 3 chambers, one for inlet, one with miracle mud and caulerpa algae and the third with an output like a powerhead or something similar to the main tank.

  • Nice ricordia )

  • I have a Marineland Penguin 100 BIO-Wheel Power Filter and the lamp is a Coralife Mini-Aqualight with two power compact, 9 watts, one is 10K and the other actinic blue for a total of 18 watts.

  • what kind of filter/skimmer do you have on it?? and how many watts for the light? thanks!

  • I have a Marineland Penguin 100 BIO-Wheel Power Filter and the lamp is a Coralife Mini-Aqualight with two power compact, 9 watts, one is 10K and the other actinic blue for a total of 18 watts.

  • thanks!

  • awesome

  • How much was that set up???

  • wow u must be an novice in this... :) feel like watching it for a long time...

i have a 3 gallon freshwater tank. the filter that i use produces lot of current. the neon tetras (only neons in tank - 3 neons)stay under the decoration to avoid the current. can you suggest any other fish that can adjust with the current and also that can go well with neon ...

  • 3 gallons...?

  • Yes 3 gallon. The measures are 9" X 9" X 9".

  • I only just saw the snail at 1:46!

  • For the moment there are no fish. I will wait to complete the stocking and at the end just a little fish.

  • Nice Pico!! =]

Can you give me a list of all the inhabitants? You can probably keep small gobies like Discordipinna spp in there.

  • Inhabitatns are: blue mushrooms, Pulsating Xenia, 2 Kenya tree frags, Candy Coral frag, green star polyps, yellow polyps, various zoas (red, green and pink), 4 astrea snails and 1 nassarius snail.

  • Cool. I have wild Nassarius snails near where I live, in Moreton Bay, Queensland.

  • this pico is just amaizing !!!!
