That thing you couldn't explode is done by doing the same action as you would when you are mortar sliding, just while holding a 'nade.

To do the fake out throw just do the actions for snake dashing while holding a grenade.

you press Z in the which makes you drop the grenade then you do an aerial, right before Snake does the aerial, he should pick it up again.

No contact snakedash = smash boosting?

Making contact = gatling?

It's the same thing to me because there is a bigger margin for canceling dash attack with an Usmash from snake and you just time what you want to do.

Do u have to hit opponent with dash attack before you can cancel with Usmash(falco) when gatling?

And I usually use the smash boost to travel, 2 smash boosts covers entire FD lmao.

You guys, you'll want to turn Tap-Jump off for a REALLY easy Snake Sliding No-contact Mortar.

IT REALLY HELPS.

Heres what you do, you down C-stick into the Dashing attack, then roll your Analog from right/left to diagonal up-right/left and press/hold A to initiate the mortar slide.

It requires almost no timing and is really super easy. Sure you can do it the hard way, but I'm not really nimble with my fingers..

set your Z to attack and then press the following:

Forward on control stick

down on C-stick

up and Z at the same time.

that's the easiest way.

and psycho's fake throw where he throws the grenade forward but looks like he throws it up you basically do this same input as the mortar slide i showed you, just with the grenade in his hand.

the snake dash can be performed using only the c-stick.. (assuming your c-stick is set to the default-smash)

hitting the c-stick in any direction while dashing will result in a dash-attack.. soo, the snake dash can be performed with a down-up motion on the c-stick.. i believe this is the most common method, and the one i use

I've seen vids of guys doing the dash by just flipping down and up on the c-stick but I could never get it to work that way for some reason. The only way I've gotten it to work is by c-stick down and analog up while holding the z button. A bit more complicated but I can pull it off pretty consistently now. So far that's the only way I've been able to make it work w/o contact. =/

Grenade, R or L to drop it, A to pick it up.

Then jump, press Z to drop it followed fast by an aerial. You should do the aerial and grab it at the same time. Then throw it when you hit the ground.
