That was not a swastika. It is an ancient symbol of good fortune and good luck. Please don't denigrate a symbol that has a positive meaning to Asians, East Indians and others.
@800988 We have to judge symbols in the context they are used. If a swastika is being used as graffiti on a Jewish persons home, it obviously not being used in the same context that Asians, Hindu, Native Americans, and Reconstructive Northern Pagans (or Heathens) are using it. The swastika is an ancient symbol indeed, but it's pretty obvious the ignorance of those guilty of the destruction of property and intimidation of that family, weren't wishing "good luck".
@1488NSP Of course I am and Im also proud to be a Jew. The Jews are .24% of the world's population yet account for 22% of nobel prizes given since 1901. No other people have done more for humanity. But you and your kind...half literate inbred poor white trash with nothing to be proud of, so you cling to failed ideologies, xenophobia, hate and the color of your skin. You are an embarassment to the people you idolize and the world continues to move on from the degenerate ideals you hold dear.
@1488NSP One thing is certain: my descendants will be proud to be Jews. Yours will be embarassed you were even in their family tree.
We have evolved and continue to evolve away from the idea that the color of your skin means anything. It does not. People of all colors find love together each day and people like you are viewed as backwoods barbarians. That is the way it should be.
I find it disturbing that people still have the audacity to use my peoples symbols for nazi propaganda. The swastika is NOT a nazi symbol it is an ancient "pagan" symbol. and people need to be educated about this, not only that but damn nazis need to stop abusing my ancestors heritage.
@acerking76 Most symbols have been used with changing and very different meaning. The swastika is now connected to what the Nazis did, and that's not going to change for a long time. Most Nazis in germany were christians, and the antisemitism the NS-regime used was a product of the christian tradition. As long as that fact is ignored people will blame "pagan roots" and "occultism" for what the Nazis did.
@tmafkap Agreed. Rabbi Tovia Singer points out that the Nazis could not have done that anywhere else but a Christian nation. The dynamic just wouldn't have been there. It took the anger felt against the Jews for "killing Jesus"....the scorn for "rejecting Jesus"... the jealousy for their being the merchant class (no choice of their own) under the feudal system, etc... and channeled them into something new.
I'm not Jewish but I would certainly stand together with Jewish people in condemning these kinds of ignorant people.
