Hey, really great cover! im trying to record myself, but never seem to get any good recording sound, it sounds like crap no matter what i do:/ any tips? i have a PODX3 Pro which is really great and i record clean tones with wonderfull sound quality, its with solo tones and distorted rythm tones it sounds bad

turn the drive way down on the pod and maybe get some bonus packs from line 6. they're about $50, but they're worth it. the metal pack is killer.

then get a line 6 pod studio and then get an add on. the gx is only a 100 bucks im getting the ux1 version. from what i have seen people do with it i don't even think you need an extra pack, but you got to know how to use it. like i said try turning the drive way down, i hear from loads of people that it helps the tone.

@chribson : It's basically the "80s solo" factory preset with some small adjustments and without the PsycheDelay. Delay, reverb and some compression i add in Logic. Hope this helps :)

Yes, some reverb and of course delay ... actually, in the mix i adjusted the delay and reverb settings a bit for the different parts.

The SV is really comfortable to play, the locking tuner/trem setup rocks and i just love the look of this guitar. Concerning pickups, hm .. their are versatile and i like them by now as they offer a variety of sounds (humbucker and single coil sounds). I guess pickups are a question of taste and can be change anytime. You will get a really nice guitar with this one !!

Loved it, great job Andy!! By the way, I'm thinking of a valve amp to go with the Ibanez SV5470, was thinking of either a fender hot rod deluxe or Vox AC15.. Would you think that the SV would go nicely with either one of those amps?
