@cubednation Technical? No it's being accurate . The same way popular culture so-called teaches 3 wise men during the Christ- Mass myth , therefore they including yourself are wrong..
@FirebrandNIRE so whats the difference whether its a fruit or an apple mean to you? you previously said you think its all a parable, right? so explain to me how this is important at all?? my point in the video is that the story of creation, and noah's ark are not parables and are not literal. my point is that they are fantasy stories.
@FirebrandNIRE Ok, I went back to reread the message, and yes I was mistaken. You did not mention anything over the story being a parable. I apologize.Your concern was over the whole "apple" comment i made in the video. To which I responded was a technicality, seeing that the bible verse specifically mentions a "fruit' not an apple. And yes, Genesis does mention that because Eve sinned (in eating the fruit) she was punished.
@cubednation And her punishment was painful childbirth and being beneath (or ruled) by her husband. (Gen 3:16) Yes, although my comment was a joke, that stuff is really in there. Yet regardless, that minor comment in my video was not my main point. I am very interested in the facts, especially those essential to the story of the book of Genesis. After reading Genesis and exploring all of the facts, I find that it is not compatible with reality, thus rendering it a fantasy.
And my point in response to your comment was that you don't seem to be concerned with Biblical accuracy. And if your not concerned with Biblical accuracy in the smallest point, then it might be fair to suppose that you will not be concerned with a refutation of your whole video. The fact that the Scriptures are their own self interpreters will probably mean nothing to you. And unless you are serious in your inquiries, I don't think anybody is going to waste their time answering .
@FirebrandNIRE Look I am not looking for an argument based on opinions and personal feelings. I am looking to have an intelligent discussion with facts and science. Again I reiterate that if you have any solid evidence that proves Genesis to be true, do not hesitate to comment. Honestly if you can explain why you believe Genesis is correct in the story of creation and Noah's ark, please be the first to tell me. This is your chance. I will listen to what you have to say.
There was only ever one person in the Garden of Eden...you!
Adam is your intellect, Eve is your compassion, and Satan is your bad side. Control and balance them all, and you'll find your life to be like living in a beautiful garden.
Let any one of those qualities get out of balance with the rest, and you will find yourself banished from that garden.
It's called a parable, and it's one of the most beautiful, sacred, lessons of how to live a good life, that we as a species have inherited.
As far as the Tower of Babel, it's diametrically opposing the message in Acts where believers coming together and agreeing as one caused every1 to understand each other and have the Holy Ghost. This idea of us working together is favored by the NT god yet this god is UNchanging....?!?!
I have an issue with the rules of the game being created by this supposed loving/merciful freewill-giving god and then manipulationg the game in His favor at OUR expense! He created a Tree of good AND EVIL (WE didn't do that) and He creates a serpent who was MORE cunning then even us humans!!?!?!?!
I disagree when preaches saying this a Bible believing church, yet will not condone having concubines or have slaves. And, some preachers say the “infallible immutable word of God.” If so then why do they “translate” what is really there. As if everyone can translate to verify for themselves.
@cbsleadership yup, after finishing genesis next week i was thinking about going off on a temp tangent over the statistics of possible believers and how if life is a test, then it is not fair.
That pisses me off. Cain brought that because that was his assigned labor. And where does it say, “I am SO bloodthirsty I need steak evertday. No veggies, ever…No seriously I will hate you for it.”Besides, skinny ‘Gods’ don’t eat salad.” I wonder right.
Planets
Hmm, well, maybe the Sun was put in there cause the Earth needed an adjustment? Or the earth needed to reach a certain speed to then be able to orbit properly, or there were celestial/technical difficulties ha :-P
@cbsleadership I know right?!?! Lol I used to be confused over why god had rejected Cain's offering. Because the way I saw it its more toilsome to harvest then to raise an animal. You have to work the land and constantly nurture it, etc. But because it was not in tradition to offer veggies, but instead animal sacrifices in the jewish culture, we get this story.
@cbsleadership makes me think of the aztecs and their human sacrifices bc they thought that the sun would not return if they did not sacrifice. they feared the end of the world, when they should have been afraid of themselves. i don't get how killing another living being (animal or worse, human) is suppose to clean someone of their sin. It seems backwards to me because in doing so they commit the sin of murder. Ironic.
@cbsleadership as far as the planets, other than what science tells us that both can to exist around roughly the same time, i can not say much about why it happened the way it did, other than i dont think the sun was put there. it is just a statistically we exist because of our distance from the sun. this past year alone several "goldilocks planets" were discovered, some of which might inhabit life. there is no plausible reason why life would not exist else where in the universe.
Martin Luther King sacrificed himself knowing full well he’ld leave his family to live in a land of injustice. How do we determine who it okay to exclude? Surely you are not judging it is merely a question. Yet, some accusing others of bigoty have similar bigotry to those who do not believe as they do.
I ask myself sometimes if it was not meant to be read just along. In fact, it states later that reading and hearing are part of it. Unfortunately reading is diluted as well.
@cbsleadership I am a bit confused over your statement..Care to clarify? And I do admit I have been judging Christians an aweful lot these past couple of months, yet I know what it is to be a believer. I just feel like I was lied to and feel compelled to speak what I now see as truth, not as a accuser but maybe to push someone in the right direction. To question their faith. Either way, I should probably tone it down a bit lol.
Surely to do so for two strangers would be absurd. Here this man was committed to principle to the point of detriment of even what he cared for. I wonder to him if they were not just strangers but in fact angels, sent from God, and he had hoped to do something for God. Even moreover, it does not say God condoned nor objected to his action. It merely says it occurred. That bothers me.
@cbsleadership I agree that it is strange. Because supposably Lot is the good guy in the tale. That is why Abraham asked god to spare the town, but instead Lot ( for being righteous) is rescued. Yet his actions are hardly in the character of any remotely righteous man.
Tower: I believe it was due to reason in the build not the build itself. Even more interesting is if they could actually build to the sky, DAMN they must've had some awesome technology.
Also, the language translated from doesn't have equivalent expressions in the other language. Also, since printed by a ruler who forced a unified print possibly the text was “hijacked.” I doubt they had much power to challenge the writing once it hit the streets. Just speculation
@cbsleadership whether it was for the reason of the build or the building itself, it seems pity and immature of god to sabotage the unity of humans. sounds more like a legend than fact.
@cbsleadership a naive way of trying to explain the difference in language. its much more simple than that, simply when people scatter they invent their own languages, and even a language like english has changed over time
Ive no answers. As a Disciple thereof, heres questions I have myself.
“The City of Lot went to his house…” =? “America went to war with Iraq.”
Does that mean everyone in America went to Iraq and fight alongside the military?
I believe a great deal of what was writing was figurative. In one part a guy is asking an angel to touch his lips with burning coal in a dream. Of course though it is figurative to being purified as he needed to deliver a message for God.

Where does it say Eve eat an Apple?

@FirebrandNIRE genesis 3:6, ..."she ate some of the fruit..."
yeah, so it doesn't say it was an apple, just popular culture refers it as so. but that's just being technical haha

yes, just reading the bible one can see that the character of god in the OT is a direct opposite of the character in the NT
