  • Emily dad looks Japanese and her mom looks Indian

  • Poor Emily

  • @annaokwedy To be honest, I don't think it's even worth my or anyone else's time to respond to your incredibly rude comment. However, I'm bored and you're wrong.

Any show with gay characters is portraying them because it's an honest depiction of today's society. The LGBTQ community is everywhere! If people like yourself didn't judge based on traits that cannot be changed, TV wouldn't have to be so prevalent in standing up for what's fair. "Don't you have any morals or values of boundaries?"

  • This made me cry.. :( its heart breaken to know ur afraid of ur own parents

  • I think my heart broke when she said that she was afraid of her parents. Because no matter how open minded or closed off a parent is to their child being gay or bi it's absolutely terrifying to come out to them. And it sucks that she was practically forced to tell him just to get him to stop hassling her about Toby. I'm glad he took it so well. He's right too. There are worse things that can happen to someone besides them being gay. Go Mr. Fields! And go Shay for making this scene believable

  • Wow, sometimes...u'll come many times because some thing/situation or person will assume u are straight. It'll make u lol or piss I off based on the occasion. When u come out, its just a decision u'll make in order to start the real happy journey.

  • I wonder what out feels like to tell people you bi or gay or lesbian... I wanna tell so bad but I'm scared

  • @mandy1356 i came out to my sister, and it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. i felt so much better, because i was at a point where i was just so sick of keeping it a secret, of hiding what i thought. you never know how people are going to react, better or worse than you think.... but try to make sure the first person you tell is the least homophobic person that you most trust. good luck :)

  • Do you know what episode it is where emily and hannah are talking about the pictures of her and maya and also about toby?

  • @Sophieksian 1x07 is when Hanna and Emily had a conversation about Maya and Emily and Toby and Emily.

  • I love her dad!! parent of the year!!!!! im glad he said she is alive and healthy and that counts for alot!! plus he is a cutie!

  • this is sooo sad.

  • aha when i was little i used say i'm going to have to get married and have babies even if i didn't want to, yada yada. but now i'm like, why should i ruien my life and just be honest. my whole family is homophobic, i mean letrally they really hate them. even my friends are when they here the word from someone theyre like ewwww. so i don't know, just had to say that. :)

  • after watching this episode, trust me i''m being honest, i nearly came out. man emily's mom really pisses me off!

  • is there an actual episode that Emily comes out to her friends or not really...

  • @luvspencersjersey It's hard to really say. I mean, in 1x07 Hanna and Emily had a conversation about Hanna knowing that she and Maya had something. Then in 1x09 Officer WIlden kind of forced her to talk about a letter she sent to Ali (which expressed her feelings for her) and she did so in front Spencer, Aria and Hanna. So I guess those would be the "coming out to her friends" episodes.

However, to clarify, Emily never really said "I'm gay" to her friends, only to her dad.

  • well at least emilys mom didnt catch her making out with maya like paula did with ashley and spencer :3

  • When I came out my dad was a-ok with it, it's just that my mum was ape shit crazy, jeez,

  • This show is great Emilys story helped me be comfortable with my own sexuality and come out to my parents but my dad just yelled at me that I was confused and my mom acted like I was sick so yeah lol it still helped alot lol

  • I salute Emily for her courage to tell her dad that she is gay even though he is a military, and her dad for being understanding father.

  • i love this scene!!! i've been watching this over and over again. it must be good to finally come out. i can't do that, my dad's homophobic, not that i care about what he's gonna say, but it'll probably break my mom's heart. my friends know though.

  • is there a specific episode that she comes out to her friends? I am just not getting into this show and trying to catch up

  • @luvspencersjersey Episode 9 when she was interrogated in front of her friends about Alison but Hanna knew already because -A send her a picture of Emily and Maya kissing.

  • I love how whenever you see her dad standing at her door, how her face goes from smile to "oh shit" :P

  • i'd give my left tit to date emily mmm

  • If i was gay I don't think my Mum would mind because she doesn't care about stuff like that. My dads dead so my mum kind of takes the same approach as Emilys dad exept she wouldn't mind at all

  • Wow, that must be terrible, to be gay and trying to battle with your feelings

  • "It's the same girl, I just need a new picture." That was really nice in the context it was said in

  • good job, 12hours... You are patient, i 'm french gay girl ,thank you for this, I wanted to show some french film I knew, but you have me to go up my videos... TOO LONG

  • @mary050880 Merci beaucoup! C'est tellement cool a voir les personnes d'autour du monde qui voyez ces videos. Il rend bien la peine d'attendre. Aussi, quand tu as dit " I wanted to show some french film I knew, but you have me to go up my videos... TOO LONG", voulez-vous me montrer quelque chose?

    Merci pour votre commentaire, Abi

  • I feel so bad for her, like right when she tells her dad "I'm gay" and he looks at her, and she's crying... I'm so glad she came out to her parents, even though her Mom was a massive bitch about it at first. I recently came out to my parents and I've been watching Pretty Little Liars every week with my mom specifically for Emily's storyline and I think it's opened her up a little more.

  • I LOVE EMILY <333

  • when i come out my mom just said , i know it . and i feel the same way xD

  • :) i like emilys shirt :P

  • Emily's parents r so annoying >O

  • this is why i hate being in a very conservative family.

  • well now she has not secrets

she doesn't really have to worry anymore

  • she i so hot

    maya and her

  • i think emily's mom was being a bitch but i felt bad for her when she started crying in the kitchen. I love the homosexual though!

  • i hate this script and that fucking annoying ass emilys mom

  • gracias c t agradece muxo, ya q aqui n mi pais no lo transmiten, spero q subas l q toca l dia de hoy, muxas gracias

  • the coming out scene was just amazing! hundreth time watching it and my heart still races

    thanks so much for posting!

  • @dolphin18coco you are very welcome! It is one of my favourite scenes of the series so far as well.

Thank you so much for watching.

  • Well... at least she's not pregnant!

  • @Skyelitpro Haha, I loved when her dad said that!

  • @Skyelitpro

Mine was (from old school italian/greek grandparents) "At least he is not dating a black girl! (jokingly) lol!

  • @Skyelitpro my dad said the same thing when i came out to him, lol ;p

  • Dayum I watched this last night and felt kind of inspired so I came out to my mum... I was lucky she's a really open minded and accepting person but I felt so bad for Emily yet so proud at the same time, even if your parents are supportive coming out is one of the hardest things to do :)

  • @XxKaiaDxX Wow, you're amazing. I couldn't even imagine coming out to my mom and you were just able to do it like that. Congratulations!

  • @mannyfan01 Haha cheers I dont think anyones said I'm amazing before so thanks muchly :) hope you can soon though... I felt wayyyy better when I did lol :)

  • @XxKaiaDxX You are very welcome! I'm sure the day I eventually do it I will feel a lot better, but for now I'm just going to wait a bit, but thank you.

  • @mannyfan01 my advice: wait as long as you need. a lot of people are all gung ho about telling people they should come out and that they will feel much better when they do, but that's only partially true. when i came out to my mom, i did feel better in the sense that i had gotten a huge load off my chest, but it was also incredibly painful to have someone i love reject who i am. you need to decide whether you're ready to accept that pain or put it off a bit longer. good luck <3

  • @fuzzysnail47 Same here. I regret coming out so early, it took my mom 6 years to come around, but she still doesn't accept me (said she never will). If I had the choice over again, I probably would have just 'come out' when I was out of their house and on my own because it's almost harder to be around someone all the time, that you love and not be treated fairly. But that is my experience. I almost brought my GF to my parent's, but that was after she went psycho on me. lol!

  • @XxKaiaDxX Good for you! congrats!

  • thank you :*

  • i love this show..and i love the fact that emily comes out..and her mom reminded me of my mom when i first came out..cause everything emily mom said is almost excatly everything my mom said..props to emily for real

  • i really love this episode and Emily is favorite character from all of them

i really dont like the mom...i mean wen she says "How are we going to fix it?" she is basically saying that Emily is broken or the being gay is a disease...like wtf is wrong with. now me im bisexual and if anyone said that being bi is gross or watever i would punch them in the face

  • @fallenAngel2513 AGREED! id punch them with you hahah

  • Emily is my fav and I teared up when she told her dad.....I felt so sad for her when she was sitting on the stairs.....I just wanted to hug her and be like its ok, I still like you!!! lol

  • well i love this, this actually means that she is not going to be with a guy hopefully and the writers wont make her straight, as many of the shows do when confronted with a gay character. But emily's honesty, just to come out like that is wonderful!

WOuld her parents rather her be pregnant the gay? having a child at 16 or loving someone of the same sex? hmmm which would be worse?

  • @3Kates3 Neither.

These are situations that are common in life. You just have to 'man up' and knock them out of the park.

That's life for you, it's all about surviving. v.v

  • @MegLayna yeah i know. :)

none of them are horrible, but the way her parents are acting they rather something else then her being gay.

but im still in love with this storyline :D

  • Good for Emily i love this show i can see her dad isn't that homophobic and accepts her in a way just more time <3

  • Well im glad that Emily finaly fells comfortable enough to telll her Dad who she really is..............

  • I love Emily & Maya too. Hey did you guys ever watch the UK Soaps like Coronation St., with Sophie & Sian and Emmerdale with Jasmine & Debbie. They are great too.

  • Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow! Yay...for Emily <3 :D Thx for posting this, honey, mannyfan01 <3

  • Thanks for putting this up. I was disappointed that I missed the episode so thanks for catching me up. Yay Emily!

  • @ilm7 You are very welcome, you and so many others that either missed or can't watch the episodes where they are, are the main reason why I put these videos up, so thank you for watching!

  • I can't believe how homophobic her parents are. It's fucking awful.

But well done, Emily for coming out.

  • @TheFreeSpiritX I don't think her parents are homophobic, I think her Dad just wants her to be happy, but still needs some time to come around to the idea. Then there's her mom and I don't think she's homophobic either, I just think she assumes that if Emily's gay that her life won't be as 'complete' as that of someone who is straight.

    Just my thoughts though.

  • Sigh... Emily Fields aka Shay Mitchell is the definition of UNF (: Oh yessss

  • @DjExhale Yes. She. Is.

  • I wish they had more shows like this when i was in high school. :-( It's crazy though, cause how Emily came out totally reminded me of how i did. My mom was bugging me cause she could tell something was bothering me. After saying Im fine over and over, I said that I was scared of her and dad and then finally "I'm Gay" practically fell out of my mouth. It was a rough time, but it's now 5 years later, and the only regret I have is I wish I would have came out sooner. Good for you Emily !

  • @2020G2020 Wow, I envy you so much. I wish I had your courage!

  • GO EMILY!!!!! Yayyyyy!!!! ( LOVED " with a bucket of ice water") hahahaha

  • @ambassadorDR I loved that part too, I actually thought in my head "oh no you didn't" when Jenna responded, I loved that scene, I love the entire episode to tell you the truth and I am so pumped for 1x12, the previews I've seen look amazing!

    Thanks for watching, Abi.

  • This is amazing, I'm glad you took the time to make this! It's great, thanks :)

  • @ebrock09 Oh don't thank me, thank Norman Buckley and I. Marlene King, the amazing director and producer of this episode.

    But thanks for watching, Abi.

  • i give props to emily! great job :) <3

  • Thankyou very much for parents representing the new -age, parents who see widely, feel deeply, think wisdomly . Today-people change a lot , it's not about conservative-religious-prejudice-thought, it's about how to get along with humans, technics of communicate -connect. Morally, adults sometimes need to learn together with young people. Humans of this generation have to be much acceptance, adaptable.

  • Totally the first time she admitted she was gay!!

  • Thata girl ;D

  • "Are you willing to just turn away from everything WE wanted for her?"

Oh lady... it's not YOUR life. It's HERS.

  • WTF shes GAy !!?

wow didn't see that coming.......i thought she was going to say she was dating Maya or that's shes Bi

    lol AWESOME ep

  • Thank you soo much for posting it..

Glad to see emily is OUT.. "I'm gay" me to emily hehe..

    Great episode it was..

  • I felt so sorry for Emily in this episode because I am going through the same. working up the courage to tell my parents..

  • @EmmieClassix I know what you mean.

  • @EmmieClassix Hey Emmie, when/ how did u know u were gay? If you watch a lot of gay shows does that mean you're gay? I love Emily and Maya, and Naomi and Emily in "Skins" d 1 episode Ive watched of "Gossip Girl" was d time Hilary Duff kissed a girl, otherwise I hate that show(2 much drama) Dont like d ones that make it look like they're desperate though, like girls in that L word show. And hey, you're 23, stand up and tell your parents, bet ull feel better after, let's c how Em feels next week;)
