What he means is, Derbyshire main minor changes to the theme from 70 - 80, including more pronounced "whooshes" and "whishes", a more pronounced baseline. The original also included the "middle 8" which was omitted for the Tom Baker years.
I remember this theme music over all the others, that were used. TV show was awesome!! I barely remember watching re-runs of it in the mid late 80's...........but the theme music has stuck with me to this day!!!!!!!

This version of theme 4 was only used between 1970 and 1980, but the full theme was in use since 1967. Any clearer?
