  • my lord this was a terrible battle, not in sequence but I mean all together how fighting was so intense and how many dying there was.

  • the movie is a total of 4 hours long from what i know

  • I still think they got the "June 30th" date wrong in the beginning of this movie. Shouldn't it be June 29th if I'm counting the days right?

  • damn you gotta love this movie

  • Amatera, will you mary me ?

THX FOR UPLOADING DIEZ MOVIE <3

  • great film

  • Can any one tell me the name of the tune the banjo player is playing at 7:50 of this clip? I've been searching for it for a long time.

  • @18hoss Never mind. I figured it out on my own after all this time. The name of the tune is "Darling Nelly Gray".

  • Robert Duvall Makes a better Lee in my opinion.

  • There must be a federal requirement that there be at least one dislike to meet the quota. Come on, everyone loves this poster, this post and this movie. Must have been a fat fingered mistake.

  • sound very useful for me history project

  • I have never seen so many fake beards in one movie .

  • 53 years later, on the 1st of July 1916, the British made exactly the fatal mistake at the Somme.

It would have costed them victory in WW1, where it not that the sons and grandsons of the men who fought at Gettysburg made the difference in the summer of 1918, after 2 more years of bloody stalemate.

  • Thank god!! I love you...thank you for uploading this movie...all i seem to find were those bullshit things that say the video has been removed!!

  • @LPJuicebox i love you too :)

  • I love this movie so much and I think it should be mandatory to watch in American History class. The book The Killer Angels, should also be mandatory reading, if you ask me. I love the book. Gods and Generals is also an excellent book and the movie is exquisite, just like this one.

  • @beatlesbabe27 i suggest you read the whole series gods n generals the killer angels and the last full measure its a great series that cant be beat i also suggest ken burns documentry

  • It sure was a special appearence by Sam Elliot his best work!

  • Anybody know what the soldiers @ 3.17 intro are wearing ?

  • @niall2910 Zouave uniforms. It's a military dress some French units first adopted during their campaing to subdue Algeria. It started a fashion trend which crossed the Atlantic. Both the Union and Confederate armies had infantry units in Zouave uniforms. Even in 19th century Canada, volunteers recruited in the province of Quebec to fight for the Pope against Garibaldi's Red Shirts in Italy were thusly dressed.

  • @C6BD ; thanks for the info ,i had thought that maybe they might have been ' land based marines ' but thanks for clearing that up for me .

  • @niall2910 I am sure they are Zouaves - units noted for their 'flair' and bravery based on North African French Army regiments.

  • Does anyone know the name of the guy who gave a beautiful speech to the union soldiers who does not want to fight? And that he recieve orders to shoot them if they dont fight but he said he wont do it?

  • @bonsly21 Joshua Chamberlain ;)

  • @bonsly21 he was well liked by many of his soldiers during the war because he understood the general idea of fighting and he knew what to do in battle.

  • iv been trying to find this movie on youtube for a while, thanx for uploading it, and in HD as well :)

  • @puck889 :)

  • My favorite movie of all time.... watched it more than 11 times.... I must be obsessed..... the brother against brother theme just gets to you... love this movie

  • General Ewell is wrongly villified in this movie. He never refused to take Seminary Ridge, Jeb Stuart simply should of come over Little round top as ordered by General Webb

  • For those that see this in next couple days...Stephen Lang, who played Pickett in this movie and Stonewall Jackson in God's and Generals will be in Gettysburg on Nov.19th for the reading of the Gettysburg address. I'll be working otherwise I would attend.

  • You my friend, is now my new favorite youtube uploader

  • @garr711 aww ;) happy you like it!

  • @Amatera8 I sure do. Thank you for uploading it. Gettysburg and Gods and Generals fueled my interest in the American civil war.

  • This movie is poor they are all bad actors and they speek normal modern english

  • Does anyone know if footage with Gen Ewell was cut because he is shown in the opening credits but i dont see him in movie?
