hey man tuning tip here, i tech for a band who has a hybrid sjc with yamaha wood hoops, to make it sound as good as it should, i tighten the reso head pretty tight, (not snare tight or anything) and leave the the batter head medium tight

as far as the kick goes, im assuming you have the emad on it, in order to keep that low end, tighten the front and leave the batter side the same. hope this helps

I really don't see how that's ignorant. You pretty much said people who own an SJC don't know how to tune their own drums. I'm just going to assume you don't know to tune your drums now.

@pfc182 im not sure if it makes a difference but these arent the yamaha hoops, theyre like regual bass hoops but smaller. and ill have to try those tunings, right now i have the reso's low and the batters high, and the bass is just too much bass in the mix haha, 26" is crazy but thanks dude im gonna try this out
