Gretzky was a one trick pony. offense only. that worked ok in the 70's but in todays 2 way game its not good enough. Gretzky was very good. But he is nowhere near the best ever. Try to be objective. If the game was just offense, I would agree with your viewpoint. He had a good brand name for sure--and people like to see offense. but he wouldnt last a minute in todays game. Plus, he had teammates protecting his weak ass on the ice.
